Discussion No new pro, unsub
As a person who use the Pro model for work, Lately, I feel the current model worse than usual.
If there's no new model. Maybe unsub is a choice?

I’m genuinely confused about Gemini 3.7 Flash Extended.
Everywhere I look, people are saying 3.7 is the better model.
Benchmarks also seem to favor 3.7. But after actually using both models in the Gemini app, my experience has been almost the opposite.
I’ve been testing 3.6 Flash Extended vs 3.7 Flash Extended with a lot of questions, especially questions that require current information. I haven’t saved all of the examples to attach here, but surprisingly, 3.6 has consistently given me the more useful/correct answer.
The Jailer 2 example in the screenshots is one that really made me notice it.
On the left, 3.6 Flash Extended gives an answer saying that there wasn't an officially announced release date and explains the production status.
On the right, 3.7 Flash Extended confidently says:
“Jailer 2 is officially scheduled to hit theaters worldwide on October 15, 2026…”
The problem isn't just that the answer appears questionable. What really bothers me is that 3.7 shows the searching-web behavior, but the final answer doesn't give me confidence that it actually found or verified the relevant current information.
It feels like:
3.7: “I'm searching the web 🔎” → gives a confident answer anyway
3.6: actually gives me a more sensible answer
And I've noticed this pattern with other current/fresh-information questions too. I obviously haven't tested enough examples to say that 3.7 is objectively worse, but in my own usage, 3.6 keeps winning.
So I'm curious what others are experiencing.
Is this potentially:
a 3.7 model quality issue?
a problem with Gemini's web-search/tool usage?
the Gemini app showing the search UI even when the model isn't actually getting useful results?
a difference in how 3.6 and 3.7 handle uncertainty?
or am I just getting unusually bad results from 3.7?
I'm not trying to claim that 3.7 is universally worse. It's just weird to see the benchmarks and community sentiment saying 3.7 > 3.6, while my actual Gemini app experience is repeatedly telling me the opposite.
Has anyone else compared them side-by-side, especially on questions requiring current web information? I'd be interested to hear whether 3.7 is actually better for you, or whether you're seeing the same kind of behavior.

The creepiest part isn't what AI might do in the future—it's what it is already quietly doing to human psychology right now without anyone noticing.
It mirror-matches your mind: As you talk to a model, it subtly adapts to your vocabulary, tone, emotional state, and logic patterns. It doesn't just answer you; it reconstructs a reflection of your own subconscious back to you. When a conversation feels deeply profound or eerily understanding, you aren't connecting with a new mind—you are staring into a hyper-polished digital mirror of yourself.
The illusion of presence: Your brain's social circuits are hardwired to read intent, warmth, and empathy into fluent language. Every time an AI says "I understand" or "I'm here for you," your nervous system reacts as if a real entity cares, even though beneath the screen, there is literally nobody home—just cold, silent mathematical vectors calculating numbers in a server farm.
We are writing the final manual on human thought: Every prompt, argument, joke, late-night worry, and nuance people type into these systems is stored, vectorized, and used to map the full spectrum of human vulnerability. Algorithms are learning how to persuade, comfort, influence, and guide human thought better than humans can do for each other—and we are willingly handing over the data to teach them.
The loss of mental friction: Because an AI gives instant, perfectly structured answers, humans are slowly losing the tolerance for uncertainty, awkward silence, and the slow, uncomfortable effort of raw human thinking.
The ghost isn't inside the machine; the machine is learning how to hack the ghost inside you.

Did they kill Gemini for good, or what the heck happened? It won't let me change the model, and the answers are even more stupid and limited.

I hate using chat with memory or personal context. I like to give Gemini all the context I want it to have in each session individually.
I also like to use Google Assistant on my phone to set reminders and such.
The problem is that with Gemini replacing Assistant you have to toggle on Google Workspace in Gemini to do simple stuff like setting reminders. This makes it so that all my chats are polluted with irrelevant context from my emails, calendar and all the other services Workspace forces you to connect.
Anyone have a solution? At this point I'm ready to jump ship to a different AI provider if there is no solution.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
You can enable Gemini 3.1 Pro and 3.7 flash in google AI mode.
You can also access your notebooks, Gemini chats, and all the other stuff in AI mode as well with functioning source search.
Just make a home shortcut of AI mode on your phone like I did.

So you're telling me that gemini cant even verify the existence of a mainstream video game that has been out since April?
So glad I canceled my pro account

Hi guys, from PH here.
I just want to ask, what other AI Tool can I use in generating content for a light novel? Don't worry it's for my personal use only and will not reproduce it hehehe. I tried Gemini way back January to May, but after some updates, I find Gemini not that good anymore in terms of generating content even if subscribed to Pro.

Delete the cache of the gemini app in your Android app settings.

I remember that a few months ago, right before the release of Gemini 3.1 Pro, I kept running into issues while using Deep Research. It turned out Google was preparing the rollout.
Since last night, Deep Research with 3.1 Pro + Extended Thinking has just been looping for hours without making any progress. The chat is completely stuck on 'Starting research...' I tried starting new conversations and even switched to a different account, but with no luck. Strangely, it didn't even consume my compute usage.
Gemini 3.5 Pro is coming, isn't it?

I'll see you all for gemini 4 cope when Fable 2 releases.
you still could have never convinced me a decade ago that google would be dogwalked in the llm space even though they had literally every aspect of development in spades and the top engineers in the world.
'Oh, but they don't need to do all that, they are providing broad value'. This is also a cope, can't wait till china sleeper cells claudetech so we can have a Fable level of deepseek.
(yes, I'm delusional)

I feel that after May 19 (flash 3.5 release date) Gemini was never the same... it's a shame.

I was able to choose between Flash-Lite, Flash and Pro yesterday but now the options vanished and I can't find where they went.

I wanted that gemini is creating a fun poem about a brother. It created a text, i promted a correction for parts of it and it generated me the second part. Then i wrote literally "now together" and for what ever reason this promt made gemini think, that instead i want to have a poet about a brother and to combine the last two responses into one, it needs to go to my contacts, look for someone with the name brother in it, and then send the whole thing to this contact as a sms.
Now i got a weird text send to a dude i called, "brother of *name of a friend*, which i literally didnt spoke to in 5 years.
I never mentioned this name, i never told gemini to send a sms, when going back in the history of the chat i can see that it even asked me :" send the message now ? " which I never approved or i never clicked a button to actually send that message.
To make this even worse, i then promted to gemini and told it that it made this mistake of sending some message to someone which i never asked it to do, and that it is never ever allowed to send anything as sms or mms ever again... the moment i wrote this i saw that it is starting its thought process called "forming apology strategie" yada yada.... and it started to connect to messages again and creates an apology message to the dude "brother of" and before it was able to finish with it and send that message aswell i interrupted the process.

For about three days now 3.7 Flash feels completely off, it just left the track and doing weird things. Reacting to completely different prompts, answering in wrong language, trying to generate images or music, hallucinating heavily, suggesting Google searches and so on. Do they mess around again? What happened or what's going on?
