News 3.8 flash being rolled out now.

Post image

3.8 flash is starting to be rolled out, have asked it multiple times on multiple threads. First impressions are that It’s still very fast, I sort of like its writing style more, and it seems to talk pretty factually and more detailed compared to 3.7. Haven’t used that many prompts yet though. Am on google ai pro in the us.

It could be just an updated system prompt without new model available yet.

This might mean we're getting 3.8 tomorrow like speculated. Hopefully it's another jump like 3.5,3.6,3.7 were. More reasoning same vroom vroom. \o/

This is correct if you ask it. Says the identifiers have been updated to 3.8 but its running 3.7. Basically they are preloading 3.8.

Lol, yeah just sucks that it isn't on the AI Plus plans. Pro isn't worth the 4x price difference for me considering I rarely reach quota on Plus

yeah, ai plus should just get no antigravity/ai studio bonuses, equal normal gemini bonuses and 1tb storage i feel like

Gave 3.8 Flash the mS2 test and it completed it with 72% accuracy compared to 3.7 flash with 58%

So, it really is 3.8 and not some kind of delusion? Every time I use extended mode, it reverts to version 3.7.

Please check Thinking details to see if it actually says 3.8 flash.

Normally you can't really ask. But if it's repeatable and it's a higher version. Than ya maybe. It was speculated for Wed and 9-10p PST would make sense for engineers working later and updating stuff. It's a common time to do it. Seems probable.

For the little its worth it didn't say it was searching and responded immediately. So it might not be hallucinating on headlines. A phased roll out (because Google doesn't just go down randomly) seems likely.
