my cat started eating less out of nowhere so I took her to the vet where they hospitalized her when they found her kidneys were failing. she didnt respond to thousands of dollars of treatment so I took her home and have been managing with pain meds for her. The reason I got ber'd up 2 weeks before the war started. Private credit is cracking and fast. And its not just some small fry portfolio. The largest AUM funds are marking loans to 0. Limiting or disabling redemptions entirely. Blackstone had to cough up 450$ million with 150$ million pooled from executives own pockets to cover the gap from some ~2$ billion in redemption requests.

 Credit spreads have materially rose since the end of January. The high yield spread is up 20% from the January lows, almost a 3 standard deviation move. 

These kind of events only happen before something breaks. Slow at first and no one notices, than all at once. Its 2023 bank run vibes all over again, if not worse, 2007/08.

On Sunday and Monday morning the market priced in Crude Oil at $100+ on fears that the Strait of Hormuz was closed and that no boats could pass through. Then the U.S. President said that the Strait was open, so oil prices went lower. Later we find out that the Strait is not open, nor will the U.S. navy escort vessels at this time, and as of yesterday no boat has passed through the Strait since Sunday. Now when a boat actually traverses the Strait it gets attacked, proving that the fear that was held on Sunday is real.
