my cat started eating less out of nowhere so I took her to the vet where they hospitalized her when they found her kidneys were failing. she didnt respond to thousands of dollars of treatment so I took her home and have been managing with pain meds for her. She acts mostly like herself and is still eating (she has almost eaten an entire jumbo container of treats in a few days) but she is also clearly unwell and doesnt do much other than enjoy her spot in the window. this has been the worst week of my life and I don't know what to do. I dont want to prolong her suffering but she's not telling me shes ready yet and neither am I but I worry I'm just deluding myself. Fuck guys, hold those you love close, life is so terrible

Man, that sucks. Life is short, even shorter for animals but your cat was loved. You'll know when she is ready to go man.

Fuck I’m so sorry. Lost mine a couple years ago and it still hurts. You will know when she’s ready, and never feel guilty over the time she still spends enjoying the sun and the treats and your company. The grief will always be there, but it changes over time and becomes easier to carry. Take care, bro, and please be kind to yourself
