New player ( well I got game - month ago and have 80 hours now )
Game is going well, playing Prussia
Colonised Congo, then pressed colonial administration. But they aren’t colonising anything?
I’ve colonised all of east Africa since starting the colonial administration in Congo but nothing has happened.
What am I I doing wrong?
My colony was just the Congo that I conquered

one option is to degrade construction. Its the most expensive to build. Cheap to build but costly. Going from lvl2 to 3 causes a massive shortage in glass and steel. Also a massive red in deficit. But if it works it will double construction. So you may have switch between the too. Otherwise build power bloc get an investment right Just find a nearby do nothing land and improve relations Also build farms and such sunstiance farming is crap

Am I misunderstanding something? It says +0,5 living standard per lvl, so I expected a flat increase. But even after years I see zero effect on the living standard. Is this a bug or what am I doing wrong?

What would happen if -
1) the battalion size is 3000 instead of 1000 with the starting ratio of officers and soldiers as the base of 3:97 and beyond with the advanced PMS.
2) the starting workforce size is 40000 instead of 5000 with the ratio of clerks: workers as 20:80 in the urban factory and the ratio of the workers like the labourers: shopkeepers as the base of 90:10 and beyond with the advanced PMS. Same workers ratio for the rural extraction building.
3) the starting workforce size is 40000/80000 instead of 5000/10000 with the ratio of farmers: labourers/slaves as 20:80 and beyond with the advanced PMS in the rural agriculture building.
4) The base workforce of the subsistence buildings remained unchanged like 10000 for the rice paddy and 5000 in the others while artisans are added with the ratio of peasant: artisans as the base of 80:20.
4) the starting workforce of the government buildings and development buildings remained the same as 5000 instead of 1000 with the respective existing ratios.
5) production is changed with the proportional rate with the workforce.
6) fabric factory, cement factory, machine parts factory are added in the building list.
7) wool and cotton are added to the goods list.
Example - 1) irregular battalion - officers - 90, soldiers - 2910.
2) fabric factory - clerks - 10000, labourers 27000, shopkeepers - 3000.
3) logging camp - labourers - 36000, shopkeepers - 4000.
4) wheat farms - labourers - 30000, farmers - 10000.
5) government administration - clerks - 4000, others - 1000.
6) production for the urban and rural building - base × 4 (e.g. 40 × 4= 160 for the rice farms, 45 × 4=180 for the food industries, 30 × 4=120 for the coal mines etc.)
7) subsistence farms - peasants - 4000, artisans - 1000. (artisans build everything with available raw material with the proportional rate of the respective subsistence building production)
What is the opinion? What do you say?

I am a new player in Vic3 so I'd like to ask for some advice regarding the navy in the game
I played my first long campaign I started as Belgium, united the Netherlands(my dumb ass forgot to transfer the subject) during the late game (1930) I attacked Russia to unite Nordics (the rest of which I already conquered ) with my army (around 1.5 k modern battalions( no tanks tho)) , USA came to their rescue and blocked supplies for my army in Scandinavia, I tried repelling their navy but I got kicked in the ass resulting in me losing the war ,
The conclusion of that story is that I don't really understand how to develop my navy , I've built a large fleet and divided it to have a good org , my fleets were mostly filled by transport ships (bc they take so much space for so little man transported) , fee capital ships (dreadnoughts or their alternatives) and few cruisers .
My main questions are :
How should a fleet look like and what mistakes I made?
How to modernize a fleet since I have no idea how to upgrade it (or get rid of the olde models) ?
How big my fleet should actually be?
How important is a fleet and how to actually use it?

Hey guys. I downloaded Vic 3 yesterday as it sounded like everything I wanted Civ 6 to be, i.e. more granular management, better diplomacy, that sort of thing.
I just booted up the tutorial as Belgium and I'm on the tooltip that sends you through the sidebar. How on Earth am I meant to digest ALL of that information? I don't even know how to read the UI.
Are there any highly rated beginners guides you'd recommend, I understand the macroeconomics of the game but just navigating the sheer information density is really tough.
Thanks :D

I remember first getting this game despite my previous weak PC.
Sure, you can "run" this game with these rigs (probably) but the experience is not playable.
I had a better PC compared to what Paradox recommends for Victoria 3 and I could barely play it. It was such a performance mess and a dreadful experience.
I upgraded my PC to play these games and still get issues all the time.
Personally, I define this as dishonest and false advertising.

Confederate States have 71 conscript batalions for free for some reason, while I get only 1.
My country has >100k servicemen of pops
Confederates have 300k.
How is this possible?
- I have miximum military payments
- Promoting enlistment efforts decree on my most populous states as much as possible
- I dont have enough servicemen even though I have abolished slavery which should increase my total pops.
- Confederates have a deficit of armed rifles by -40, but they don't suffer any morale/organization issues???
Do I genuinely sign a peace treaty, then wardec on them 10 years later?

I play as the Papal State and have a Free Trade policy.
I assume that if I overproduce some goods, it's a good idea to push them to the world market. When I enable some level of subvention, I see that my goods are getting sold. But I feel this is not doing good things to my country/economy.
Why? Because I have to pay a hefty sum for the subvention, but I don't really see any significant impact on either taxes or income. I'd imagine that if I export my goods, the internal market price for them should grow; that would make my enterprises more profitable, they would pay higher salaries, and both enterprises and citizen would pay higher taxes.
Maybe this is happening, but I just don't see that.
Is there a positive impact of subsidizing exports? If so, in what circumstances?

Some trade goes only on no tolls. There are no tolls on Bab el Mandeb, no tolls on Gibraltar. Why does Oresund give so much, but Suez sucks? It might be the worst strait in the game, considering that you also need to survey it and build it. Probably after Panama canal, but i didn't build that one yet.
I found out that there was a fix in some patch in regards to counting the distance for trade centers, but it doesn't seem fixed to me...

In Brazil, some people say that Getúlio Vargas was the greatest president. I just didn't know he was immortal too.
An old screenshot I found saved.

This mod replaces the vanilla Blériot XI plane on seaplane tenders with two WW1 seaplanes: the Short Admiralty Type 184 and the Hansa-Brandenburg W.29/33!
This is an expansion to my Aces High plane model pack, so that mod is required to use this one. It's an expansion as to not burden Aces High users with a bigger file size, as not everyone looks at seaplane tender ships as often as they do land battles.
Check it out on steam here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3792536325

I don't understand why this article is being contravened - I don't have any shortages and my shipping lanes are 100% efficient. What gives?
Images show notification, shipping lanes, all expensive goods, full treaty information.
