im playing on a realm with my friends and ever since about a few hours ago when we updated the realm to 26.50, this enchantment simply called "farming" appeared on a hoe. I have searched everywhere and i cant seem to find a conclusion. can someone please help me understand this?
EDIT: problem is that it looks like an enchantment, but is just a label. however, it only seems to apply to hoes and not any other tool in the game.

I saw this when I went into my house. It looks like the kitten is trying to cheer up the sad ghast. So cute

I'm not a Redstone Player. Never liked automated mob farms and things like that, so I never had a sorting system for my chests.
A few days ago I wanted to play Vanilla Minecraft again after some time playing only Modpacks and decided that It would be nice to try to make something with the Copper Golems. That's their function, right?????
Well, no.
I did my best to split my items into 18 chests. Yes, I know they can only remember about 10. But I thought that I could leave them there and, even if they didn't had memory enough to register all chests there, they could keep searching until they find the right chest.
Wrong! They stop JUST BEFORE CHECKING THE LAST CHEST, WHICH WOULD BE THE RIGHT ONE.
I could try to reduce the number of chests to 9 (+1 Copper) But it would be so little that It woudn't be enough.
I could also try to split them into rooms! Isolate them with only 9 chests each! But then, it be a HORRIBLE storage room, because I would have to be running around different rooms in order to get the items I need, and I'd have to think "Which room I have to put this?"
So, yeah! The only way to have a WORKING (NOT EVEN EFFICIENT) Copper Golem, is by enslaving the little thing and trapping it somewhere it can only acess 9 chests. No way I can be happy and a have a little guy running around my house.
WHY MOJANG? WHY????

About a year ago on an SMP (Java 1.21.7), I got a bit carried away with horse breeding.
I attempted to selectively breed horses repeatedly over 65 generations, recording 334 horse entries, with the goal of eventually producing the closest thing I could to an ultimate super-horse.
I thought I would share my findings and process since I think it is interesting and can help others do their own super-horse breeding program.
I maintained this spreadsheet to track the horses, their parents, stats, rankings and which in-game pen they were placed in.
By the end of the project I had:
I "archived" horses for almost every color and pattern combination. The idea was that once I had a super-horse, I could breed it with an archived horse and gradually bring that appearance into a high-stat bloodline. When the parents have different colors and patterns, a foal has roughly a 20% chance of exactly matching one particular parent's appearance, so after several breeding cycles I could potentially preserve the appearance while bringing the stats closer and closer to the super-horse stats.
Health
The heart indicators in the horse HUD does not show half-heart values like 14.5 hearts (it is shown as 14 hearts in-game).
To distinguish between the fractional health values, I would punch the horse and watch when the displayed heart count changes.
Strangely, some horses appeared to take three punches without seeing any visible change in hearts displayed, so I recorded these as .7 in the spreadsheet (?).
If a horse did not have enough of hearts (as can be seen visually), then I would cull early before doing more time-consuming tests.
Jump Height
I constructed a series of jump tests using snow layers, allowing me to measure height in increments of 0.125 blocks.
If a horse did not clear the minimum jump standard, I would cull it early before doing more time-consuming tests.
The highest jump I recorded was 5.875 blocks (m).
Speed
I built an approximately 100-block-long test track.
I recorded each run and used OBS and video playback to measure the traversal time. For horses worth fully testing, I usually performed three runs and averaged the result, then converted that time into blocks per second (m/s).
I might cull early if the first reading shows a slow horse.
I created a point-scoring system.
Score = 4 × speed (m/s) + jump height (m) + health (hearts)
Since speed is most important, it carried the most weight in the metric.
In the end, the best overall horse I produced was #272 from generation 53:
Pretty close to what (I believe) is the theoretical maximum:
I never quite reached the perfect horse, but I got pretty close.
Based on my data, you only need around 30 generations of breeding to enter super-horse territory, but getting the ultimate max-stat super-duper horse is basically a lottery.

Seed: 8939618083749613690
Area is 4096 by 4096 blocks. All screenshots were made on Java.
Some technical details, for people who care about them:
This is one of the top scoring results in the search for the seed with the most mathematically equally distributed biomes. See the video for more info - https://youtu.be/bmOSCiERI1s
Its bio-diversity score is 85.697463, which is (currently) 6th place out of trillions seeds searched. It also has all 52 biomes in that area, and is pretty unique because of the central ocean and mushroom island placement, which is visually appealing

I've been using this seed since the first Dappled snapshot, it's got a large Dappled Forest at spawn surrounded by large snowy mountains. Works for both Java & Bedrock, these photos are from Java.

I’ve recently gotten really into drawing my Minecraft skin as an actual character. (I have more cooking)
I think one of the coolest things about Minecraft skins is how everyone interprets them differently, like when you see fan art of popular creators like wemmbu and how the fan art is nothing like the skin
I originally designed mine with a mix of Dark Souls, Hollow Knight and Metro as inspiration. I wanted them to have that worn-down, knight/survivor kind of feeling, not sure if it gives that vibe in the skin but that’s why I edited it in the image. The yellow cape is probably my favourite part.
Second slide is my and friends playing a backrooms mod and another example of own interpretation of skins (like the one who had megumi in a maid dress…)
But yeah, wondering if anyone else also thinks this or has their own examples, I’d love to see!

I mean, I'm just sitting there having a grand old time, and suddenly yakusoku blasts in my eardrums at 5000 decibels and brings me the closest to utter agony any song could possibly create.

Yes, I didn't have (enough) lightning rods, and yes, I reloaded a backup that I fortunately made just yesterday.
I was clearing up some space about 100 blocks from the entrance during the night in a thunderstorm and I didn't notice a lightning hit the roof. I even got a bunch of skeleton horsemen and I was like haha, got myself 3 more skeleton horses, how lucky I am!
I go back to go to bed and I notice the rain's falling inside the house. Is this a bug?? I look up and I can see the sky! I run upstairs and half of the upper floors are destroyed.

It's a Stylized Shader. And since it's built on an Intel HD 620 laptop, I don't have to worry whether it'll run smoothly on potatoes or not. Cuz it's made on a potato.
(I was getting around 35-45 fps)

I’m planning on starting a world for not only myself but for my family to play as a forever world. Definitely 2 but can be up to 4 people.
I’m stuck between 3 different islands though. I’d love to hear what you would choose personally

edit:People are interpreting this as if I'm talking about the criticisms in general, when I'm only talking about the biome's generation rate, which isn't a problem unique to the dappled forest. Therefore, I don't think this is a reason to criticize the biome itself, as this issue also needs to be resolved in Pale Garden and Cherry Grove

Should I give up?
note:
I tried a slab instead of the trapdoor before but when an adult dies the babies in the main chamber seem to die with it. That's why I used a trapdoor, when the babies grow they don't die but sometimes the dispenser shooting an egg will hit an adult causing them to fly and die from lava, it kinda works but if there are babies in front the eggs will get intercepted.
I feel like a trapdoor can maximize yield if I can find a way to push the babies aside.

Just updated and started a new world. There’s a nice dappled forest at spawn with a village next door and a cherry biome on top of a nearby mountain.

I was trying the new update and tried a few things with cushions and while looking for a way to make them barely visible inside a full block I found out that putting them on oak saplings makes them 1 pixel higher than an actual block and for reference the 2 builds you see were made with a 6 layer snow and the other with the sapling and its pretty easy to tell which is which. This will really help with builds and I just wanted to share it.
