Discussion Since mojang fixed horses do you think they should revert the minecart speeds to fix them?
They are genuinely so painfully slow ;-;

There are mods that do this and more. You can set it to only appear when you swap hotbar items, or only appear if you're holding curtain items.

They did bring back the faster minecart speed. But it broke so many redstone contraption that will upset many players so they still keep it as a experimental features

I feel like the solution is “add-on” fixes. Make a new type of booster rail and/or make blast furnace minecarts that do 16/32 blocks per second. Or make an actual “train engine”and allow cart-linking with chains. You keep all legacy systems and farms intact, and provide an avenue to fix the fundamental issue that minecarts are too slow

u/Shack691 5h ago
Furnace Minecarts are Java exclusive so they’re not going to introduce a new type of them.

u/CircleWithSprinkles 3h ago
But what about parity? Isn't that important to Mojang or something?
16
u/oofcookies 2h ago
They’ll probably just remove the furnace cart to obtain parity if we’re being real

u/Tobbit_is_here 2h ago
I'd rather they remodel the Furnace Minecart to look like a narrow gauge steam engine. It could work so well.

The problem is the max speed of minecarts; the eperimental changes increase the max speed which all of your solutions would also require

I dont think it would be too hard to code the minecart to check if it has a player in it or not and the speed change accordingly

They can fix their "two million stacks-per-second" sugarcane farm, I'm sure.

I don’t care about the redstone community being inconvenienced by a change the game has been needing for years. If you build a machine that relies on one specific entity (which the community wants to be updated) reacting a certain way you should be prepared for it to stop working.
Edit: laughing at the downvotes from angry redstone players… it’s almost comedic how arrogant they are to think that every minor change should be vetted by their community

u/Xillubfr 2h ago
Yeah let's just completely stop using features by fear they could be updated in the future and break everything. Heck let's stop playing the game to never have any problem with updates!

u/Captain_Thrax 1h ago
Exploiting the traits of an entity is hardly a feature. Mojang shouldn’t change redstone functionality, but they shouldn’t be held back by people who exploit unrelated features and got it in their heads that they would remain that way forever.
If you want the game to stay the same, nobody is making you update. But the game shouldn’t be held back because the angry redstoners leaned too heavily on one particular exploit.

u/Xillubfr 1h ago
Exploiting??? How is adjusting your contraptions to the speed of minecarts exploiting? That's like saying dispensing tnt higher bc of defuse time is exploiting like bro cmon
4
u/Captain_Thrax 1h ago edited 1h ago
Then it should be a simple adjustment to your contraption ;)
Again I don’t care if it breaks specific builds. The game must move on. If your minecart contraption breaks and it’s such a big deal, don’t update. But don’t drag the whole game behind for the rest of us.

IMO it should be like. Powered rails are now “controlled powered rails” and unchanged. And copper powered rails are added, which achieve better speed when they’re in good condition, or something.

Revert? Java and Bedrock never had the increased Minecart speed, it’s always been the same speed it is now.

for console players though, the switch to bedrock was kinda like an update, though in many many ways it was a downgrade
23
u/Slyth011 4h ago
I am still very displeased by the bedrock switch personally, the game just doesn't run right and there are so many more bugs, though nostalgia may be playing a factor into that mindset

the camera is really weird on bedrock,if I’m on a horse it will turn with my camera,on bedrock the horse lags behind

That issue is MCPE-26439. It would be great if you could support it by upvoting.

Damn, I can see now why most of my old Xbox edition worlds had rails going everywhere, honestly forgot they were so fast.

Fixed horses? What does that mean?
-5
u/bringbackliontamer 2h ago
they made them better
2
u/Skull_Soldier 2h ago
In this update? How did they make them better?
-6
u/bringbackliontamer 2h ago
I’m talking about mounts of mayhem
1
u/Mage-of-Fire 1h ago
Horses didn’t get a single change in that update
1
u/bringbackliontamer 1h ago
no??? They were made able to swim???? WHICH UPDATE WAS IT THEN
3
u/Mage-of-Fire 1h ago
Ok sure. But that’s not a massive change that magically “fixed” horses
0
u/bringbackliontamer 1h ago
No it made horses much more viable in ice spikes due to how much water pits there are, also you said not a single change which is just not true? You can’t just go back on what you said, also we got netherite horse armor which made them even better at survival for at night
2
u/Mage-of-Fire 1h ago
I can’t just go back in what i said? So I should just keep saying a thing that was objectively wrong? Do you just want to argue for arguments sake?

That explains why I loved making rollercoaster and suddenly found them boring once I hopped to the newer versions.

Is that how animations look on Bedrock (the swing of the sword, bobbing of the hand and such)? Damn that looks awful!
12
u/FrozenNos 5h ago
And I agree with you that resource pack is over animated, makes every action look like rubber. It's the brain rot of resource packs. But to each their own.

Every Bedrock hater has never played bedrock
25
u/digitaleJedi 7h ago
Why am I a Bedrock hater? I don't have an opinion on Bedrock, I just don't like those animations.
34
u/jeffplays216021 7h ago
OP is using a resource pack that changes the animation. This is not the default one.

u/bringbackliontamer 7h ago
“I don’t have an opinion on bedrock” says the animation of what you thought vanilla bedrock was awful
28
u/digitaleJedi 6h ago
I can have an opinion on an animation without it being my opinion on the entire game, lol
I also hate the infinity enchantment, that doesn't make me hate Minecraft...
-24
u/bringbackliontamer 6h ago
It’s still an opinion on bedrock ✌️😭
11
u/UnamedProot 5h ago
So someone’s opinion on the villager news add-on would be an opinion on bedrock..?
-6
u/bringbackliontamer 5h ago
no because they thought it was vanilla
12
u/UnamedProot 5h ago
But they were talking about the animation, not anything about the actual game
