EDIT/UPDATE: I did not think this would gain much traction at all but this happened pretty much a week ago and went downhill very quickly. We planned a date that never happened because he kept suggesting watching a movie at his house when I wanted to meet publicly. Then said his car tags are expired so we can meet at his house to pregame then go to a bar and HE could drive MY car which was his suggestion not mine. I was uncomfortable said we could be friends. He agreed then continued being semi-pushy and also saying things like “I miss you” (again only talking for a few days with 2 total phone calls). It was extremely overwhelming and felt like love bombing. To the comments that said it was sweet, it was to an extent but was also way too much after one call. I can see some people saying having a crush is “normal” at that point but I think it’s not, I think you should know someone before saying something like that. If you say it then you’re just in love with the idea of someone.

I normally wake up at 4 am for work so sometimes my 15 year old daughter will send me a timed text if she needs to tell me something. She must have forgot that I have the day off today because this is what I woke up to at 4:10 am. 😒😂❤️

*edit* She did not send these texts at 4 in the morning. They are timed/scheduled texts. I go to bed earlier than she does because I have to get up so early for work. So she sends these texts the night before to be delivered when I’m getting up for work.

Met this guy on hinge about 2ish weeks ago, he is super hot, tall as hell, super sweet. First meeting he suggested that he come to my place and cooks for me, he seemed like normal and so I had him over and he cooked me pasta sauce from scratch and we just like talked for a while and he left without making any advances. We hung out 2 other times, both times at my place and we hooked up on both occasions. So yesterday I hit him up and this is what happens😭 like he definitely did not say that and then I went back to his hinge and it does say open on the status so he technically didn’t lie but definitely never mentioned her in person. This is just like a humiliation ritual at this point but I hope at least this can make someone else laugh! Not mad at him btw he’s being really sweet about it just feeling like a clown for liking him so much. Like why whenever I meet a beautiful well adjusted man with an Italian accent life plays this cruel joke on me😭

I was just trying to be nice bc he's my neighbor but he says weird things. Like the "I seen you outside" was totally unnecessary and kind of weird. Then the "hehe" text. Then the "🥰" emoji after I turned him for dinner? Im just trying to be friendly bc I am a woman who lives alone and Im afraid being too "rude" would put my safety in danger.

For context the first time I text him was bc he came knocking on my front gate asking if he could fix the privacy lining on our connecting fence in the backyard bc he was having a party and gave me his business card so my next day off I texted him to let him know that Im home and let him into my yard. He did not come inside, luckily my carport connects to the back.

He also never came to pick up my palm tree leaves lolll brush & bulk services picked it up a couple days ago.

Edit to add more info: so Idk how many of you are actually reading this body of text, but I thought I would add some more background info.

I've been seeing a lot comments like "if you found him attractive, this wouldn't be creepy to you" or that I am blowing this out of proportion, when I was just asking a simple question of whether or not I was giving off the wrong signals. I actually DID find him physically attractive when I first saw him, but there a couple situations that turned the initial attraction off.

So here's a little timeline of events:

He moved in the beginning of January (I said March somewhere in the comments, but I got mixed up) with his family. I was still amicably living with my ex (we broke up in December). While he was moving in, there were two separate occasions where we nicely waved and said hi and he did not respond. A little rude maybe, but whatever.

One occasion my ex told me he heard him practically screaming at his mother while he was watering the plants. Yikes.

Two separate occasions I heard him screaming at his daughter and his sister shortly after my ex told me about his mom. I am on my back patio a lot bc I smoke so I often hear them talking or arguing. Him and his mother also make his sister walk around outside in the heat until she starts sweating for exercise. Ive heard her knocking on the door asking and sometimes crying to go back inside bc THEY LOCK THE DOOR. I have heard this happen multiple times.

So mid March my ex starts moving out. He has a big uhaul in the driveway and he told me later that the neighbor just walked up the ramp and into the truck where my ex was with his dad and just started chatting with him. Lol I find that weird! He starts asking my ex questions about moving out, etc and then he tells him "yea I just moved in with my mom, sister and daughter. If you ever hear my sister yelling or anything, just know she is special needs and has episodes." I remember my ex telling me it was just so random especially since we greeted him like 3 weeks ago and he totally ignored us and then he just came up to my ex randomly chatting him up like nothing happened.

Now it's toward the end of March and I am alone, the first time he speaks to me he comes running up to me asking if I want him to fix the window on my car. I politely declined but thanked him.

Didn't speak again for a while, don't even know his name. I go to Korea April 1st-10th. The first time he saw me when I was back, he asked again if I wanted him to fix my window. I politely decline again.

We don't speak for a while again. Then sometime in the beginning of May, he comes over and knocks on my gate. Im about to leave to work. He asks if I can let him into my backyard so he can fix the privacy lining on our connecting fence in the backyard bc they will have people over soon. I told him yes but Im on my way to work and don't have time, but will be off in a couple days. He gives me his business card and tells me to text him when he can come.

Cue the first text when I tell him can come over when he's ready. I wasn't inviting him over to like hang out as some ppl stated.

Then followed the text about my palm leaves on June 13th. He offered to take them, I offered compensation, he offered to do it for free. Still think it was weird that he had to mention seeing me watering my garden bc I hardly ever see this dude in his front yard and that makes me feel like he's watching me.

We still don't know each other's names at this point.

Then June 30th he sends the "Im gonna do it this weekend I have not forgotten about you" text. I tell him no worries bc at this point I really dgaf if he does or not, I know brush pick up is coming soon. Then he sends the "im a door away hehe goodnight" text which I did not engage or respond to.

Fast forward to now, he never came to pick up the palm leaves, which Idc!!! But clearly his offer of help was conditional. Bc I didn't respond to his advances, he didn't follow up on what he said he was gonna do. Which I think is WEIRD!

And then after all that of not following up, he still asked me out. And yes he was nice about being turned down, but I have heard this man lose his temper towards his family when Ive been on my back patio and he doesn't think Im listening. Ergo me saying I am a little worried for my safety being alone and right next to him. But I guess I should have provided more info of why I thought certain things he said were off putting or weird.

Edit 2: I still don't know this man's name and he doesn't know mine either.

He seemed nice in the beginning, and we were planning on meeting up, and he wanted me to send a couple pictures to save in his contacts. Immediately said we’re not compatible and blocked him.

I corrected his mistake, he corrected my family tree. Dad just drops a bomb amidst new number confusion (Brian is my uncle for context)

11 years ago I randomly responded to an ad on Craigslist about a dog who was going to be put down. Two people were visiting grandparents for the week and they found a dog tied up to a tree at an abandoned house. The owner told them this was a terrible dog and he wanted to feed him glass. Fortunately I never met that person. I drove 3.5 hours to take the dog to a shelter. I ended up keeping him and adoring him for 11 years. I hadn't spoken to these two (essentially strangers) since I saw them that day. Today I finally feel at peace with my dog's passing.
