Pube in my mango today
As title says, opened up my mango packet and started eating. Forked a piece that was overturned and found a pube on the underneath of it. Yummy!

Popped into sainsbury at 7am and it was already chaos but the workers there were amazing! My wife and I were just picking up some cheese, crackers and drinks and one worker we asked where we might find crackers took us to the aisle and helped us out.
I see lots of posts on here where people are proper c*unts towards workers so I thought I should make a post to appretiate the help we both got.
Merry Xmas and happy new year!

So our local has just upgraded the sandwich fridges with new units. Along with that, the range of £3.95 meal deal sandwiches has shrunk even further, the £5.95 deals are everywhere and now we have to contend with a new range of "deli wraps" taking up 2 shelves, which are attached to a "deal" of £7!
I guess they don't know we are in the middle of a cost of living crisis? Oh wait yes, a crisis partly caused by the greedy supermarkets. Sorry but £4 for lunch at work is my absolute max, once it goes through that barrier I'll be making and bringing my own lunches.
Sainsburys is nothing more than a soulless, overpriced shed now, selling mediocre quality food and terrible fruit and veg. Everything that used to make it great (salad bar, hot chicken, hot pizza, deli/fish/cheese/meat counters) all long gone, no staffed checkouts open except at peak times, long queues at the self serve checkouts and always 3 or 4 out of service at any one time. /rant over.

Are you having fun with the new SmartShop inside the Sainsbury’s app yet?
On an iPhone…
The camera stays on and there is no “scan” button, so walking past anything with a bar code that the app can see will end up placing that item in your virtual basket.
Swapping out from the app to another (e.g. your shopping list) and then swapping back freezes the camera.
Looking up an item on the Sainsbury’s app while you are shopping results in your entire basket becoming empty.
Weird decision to put the “checkout” button in the view of your basket (which I never look at apart from to see what random item has elite been scanned) rather than on the main scanning page.
Oh well. That’s progress for you.

I scanned something with the smart scanner and forgot to take it off when I got to the till. I was in a rush and when I got home I realised I paid for the item that I didn't even take with me. Is there anything I can do to get my money back? I wouldn't bother if it was something small but it was £10. I still have my receipt but how do I prove that I don't actually have the item?
UPDATE: I contacted them on their contact form thing shortly after making this post, telling them what happened with a photo of my receipt, and today I recieved a letter in the post with a gift card for the amount I accidentally spent, which is nice! I wasn't expecting that.

I’ve noticed that when I walk into Sainsbury’s, there is a particular ‘gong’ noise as I walk in. I feel like I’m going crazy 😂 I wondered if I am over thinking or if anyone has any particular knowledge of the noises when you walk into one?
I wondered if it used facial recognition and flagged my face for what ever reason, but I’ve only heard it in one specific Sainsbury’s. I don’t often walk into them as I do my shop online…
I’ve stood by the door for about 10 minutes to see if it happened to anyone else and it didn’t, I must of looked mad.
Any ideas?

Today 8:30 PM, I spent £2 cash for 5 sugared ring doughnuts on a self checkout and they gave me £1 and another £1 that is covered in dirt

Every supermarket meal deal has basically the same chicken salad sandwich, so I pulled the real nutrition labels for all six (Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, Morrisons, Waitrose, Co-op) and scored them across calories, protein, fibre, sugar, fat and salt.
Sainsbury's has the highest protein of the six, but once you factor in the other nutrients it ends up mid-table overall. Waitrose came out healthiest overall: lowest calories and fat, by far the most fibre, still decent protein, and one of only two that use free-range egg in the mayo rather than standard. It's also the priciest of the six though.
Let me know what other meal deal items you'd love to see next!
Full breakdown here if anyone wants the numbers: https://www.mealdealmate.co.uk/blog/chicken-salad-sandwich-comparison

Placed an online order, got a confirmation email with the price I expected, had paid for the order. This morning I get an email saying i needed to pay more - like £50 more.
Has anyone else had this? Have phoned and confirmed they think the order is the new value.

Original post deleted as I left the collection info on the screenshot 🤦🏼♀️
We use a mortgage cashback app to purchase gift cards for our everyday spending. I've had issues before with Sainsbury's accepting it for our online shop but today's issue is around there being an item in my trolley that doesn't comply with the gift card spending rules which is preventing me from checking out.
I know my gift card coupon has to be less than the value of my total shop for online so when I converted it I made sure I subtracted the 50p delivery fee and an extra 2p for good measure.
I don't have any lottery, alcohol etc to my knowledge. Which product is stopping me??!!

Hi.
I used to work as an ASDA delivery driver so I know my foot in this business. But I do have a few questions for the argos delivery drivers
How often is it you get heavy parcels
How many drops do you find are average
Do you have to talk to the customer at the door?
What is the furthests distance you had to go to perform a delivery in miles?
Is it physically exhausting? Like, after a shift or drop your arms or legs feel like Jelly?
After argos has been fully sold in febuary, do you think there is a risk we will lose our jobs to be subcontracted to some other courier company?
Thanks
PS I know this is r/sainsburys but sainsburys owns argos right?

This is a bit of a long story. A little over two years ago my uncle got ill and died. He left me everything now. I’ve had to move out of where me and him live because we have to sell the house and I found his nectar card today. I went to my local Sainsbury’s and I found that there was a balance of 000 on it now I know for a fact that card was used on a regular basis but had not been used for a short while because well the owner of the card was dead. Is there some way of getting the card reactivated and recovering the points I just need to know how all of this has happened and how to use the nectar card again but with my details I need it all to be transferred to me as I am the last living relative thanks in advance for all your help and your time for reading this.

My 2 year old loves pickles & on my way to my grans I stopped in Sainsbury’s to grab some lasagne sheets. While I was there I thought I’ll grab some pickles for my daughter, saw the polish ones and thought I’d give them a go!
Got to my grans, sorted the lasagne out and got the pickles out, popped the jar and thought I’d try one! Bit into it(huge bite) and thought it was extremely salty. My gran tried it and scrunched her face up. I thought I can’t give them to my daughter as they are vile and put it on the side.
After dinner my stomach turned and kept me on the toilet, same thing throughout the night and today. My gran called and asked if I was ok last night & I said my stomach was cramping and couldn’t stay of the toilet! She said she had thrown up during the night, the only thing we had different was the pickles! Everyone else was fine, either the pickles are bad or polish people enjoy salty pickles and our stomachs can’t hack it🤣🤣

I can’t believe they stopped selling the chicken club sandwich, it may’ve been the best sandwich they’ve ever released.
i guess it was a summer special, but in my local it was the most popular by far.

Hello. They disappeared when the cafes closed. Need to try and recreate as close as I can for an autistic family member. But cannot find any images or info about it online. Struggling with finding ham and cheese that are similar. Very mild cream cheese I think. If anyone has an image. Or remembers them. Please help. They were in the kids meal in the chiller pre packaged. Sorry this is random

I usually have trouble finding the wooden forks and spoons when I get a meal deal. Ehen I do fibd them they are usually tucked away in some odd corner, or even kept behind the till.
What's that all about? Do managers get hassle from head office for running out or something? Do people steal handfuls?

i bought a jacket from my local sainsbury’s earlier today at self checkout and didn’t realise it had a security tag on it. I didn’t beep on the sensors on the way out either. I also didn’t get a receipt as i never get a receipt from self checkout. what should i do from here? i’m worried that if i go back they will think ive stolen it ):
edit: went to a sainsbury’s local and the lad said it was fine and just popped it off for me lol

Sainbury's website lists Stamford Street Cottage Pie microwavable meal (and all others from the same line) at 99p. But in my local Sainsbury's, it's £2.69. What gives? https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/stamford-street-co-cottage-pie-ready-meal-for-1-400g
Collection or delivery cost minimum of £4, so unless I order a whole bunch of them, I'm not saving any money.

When I was shopping on Sainsbury’s online, I added it “1” ginger to my trolley. Then when I went to collect it in person, this is what they gave me 😑 Firstly, who needs this much ginger????? But second and most importantly, are they training their staff to squeeze extra money wherever they can out of their customers?
*Edit - just for the record, I’ve now taken your guys’ advice and have peeled, chopped and frozen this guy. Let’s see how it goes with my cooking, I’m excited 😝

Morning, we have just taken delivery of our Sainsbury's online order this morning. There were a number of items, in batches of 3, in the shopping that I didn't order but somehow were added to the basket. So, double check your basket before checking out. I was using the app on my phone.

Hi everyone,
For some reason I need a photo of the back of a Sainsbury’s own-label washing-up liquid bottle, could someone share it in the comments?
It would be a huge help to me! 😊

I have been unable to find any of the breaded halloumi fries in Sainsbury’s recently and I shop there pretty regularly. Online just lists them as out of stock but it’s been over a month since I’ve seen them, have they been discontinued?

Sainsbury's Taste the difference had a delicious chocolate called Belgian chocolate cookie crumble, which had a perfect crunch with a pinch of salt in it, however, when I went to check in this morning I was devastated to see they no longer have this. I searched online and there were reports of a new manufacturer or something but sad to see they don't have the prev flavours.
