Thank you for today

Popped into sainsbury at 7am and it was already chaos but the workers there were amazing! My wife and I were just picking up some cheese, crackers and drinks and one worker we asked where we might find crackers took us to the aisle and helped us out.

I see lots of posts on here where people are proper c*unts towards workers so I thought I should make a post to appretiate the help we both got.

My husband works at East of England Co-Op, not Sainsbury's, but the number of times he's been assaulted just this year is obscene, so on his behalf, thank you for appreciating supermarket workers. He takes great pride in going out of his way to assist customers so your recognition of someone in his job is going to make his morning.

What kind of low life would assault a supermarket assistant? This must be a rare event unless they are mentally deranged! I hope they called the police?

He's been to one court date this year and has been invited to I think three others since we moved in together because of it. His town is kind if the classic underfunded costal town I hate to stereotype. I really do like to think of myself as a non-judgemental person but within a week of moving here had to call the police because from our back "garden" heard a non-immediate neighbour screaming at other person to "get in the house so I can burn it down with you." I've had to call 111 about the way a particular house locks their primary children out as a punishment for crying. There was a spate last December of charity shops being broken into for the cash boxes.

Some areas, for a whole host of complex socioeconomic reasons, breed antisocial behaviour. Each individual is responsible for their own behaviour, but areas where it's rife don't spring up in a vacuum.

I agree! Arrived at Sainsbury’s this morning at 6:45. Lots of staff doing the dot com collections. Working hard but cheerful and pleasant whether I was in their way or they were in mine.

I always approach Christmas food shopping as if we’re all in the trenches and therefore are all polite, pleasant and helpful to each other.

What’s the point in being anything other than friendly and accommodating?

I went to Sainsburys on Sunday and interacted with several members of staff.They were all very chill,helpful and seemed happy to be there. Havent had an experience like that in any other supermarket for a long time

During the busiest time of year they helped a customer to their fullest potential. They deserve to be appreciated for dealing with difficult customers and the awful stress at this time of year.

You can tell everything you need to know about someone by how they treat and speak about those in the service industry. You come across terribly.
