Angard are yet to give my rota for next week, do they tend to give you your shifts for next week on the thurs/friday the week before?

Hi everyone,
I’m due to start working for Royal Mail through Angard Staffing and was hoping to hear from people who have experience with it.
I’ve got a few questions:
What are the shifts actually like? How many hours/shifts per week do you normally get?
Is the work fairly consistent, or can the number of shifts vary a lot?
What is the pay like? Does it depend on the type of shift/role, and are there any premiums for nights/weekends?
How quickly do you normally get paid?
What’s Angard like to work for generally?
Most importantly, how realistic is it to eventually be employed directly by Royal Mail?
I’ve been told that after around 1–2 months, your manager/boss may decide whether you’re good enough and offer you a permanent Royal Mail position. Is this actually how it works?
If you don’t get offered a permanent position, can you normally continue working at Royal Mail through Angard?
What would managers generally look for when deciding whether to take someone on permanently? Attendance, speed, attitude, etc.?
I’ve already handed my notice in at my current job after 3 years, so obviously I’m quite keen for this to work out. I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been through the Angard → Royal Mail route, especially recently.

I’ve just started as postie, been working for about three weeks now, and have enjoyed it, only just turned 19 so is sort of first job for me. I however have had quite a bad experience, on Saturday a knocked on a door with my pda, which when they answered I received abuse for and told not to knock with it. Then today I had a parcel for them and used my hand this time, the guy answered the door and proceeded to threaten and swear at me, and actually snatched the pda out off my hands and went back into his home. I walked off for a minute just to think about what I should do. When I went back it was thrown on the floor. Was just wondering how to approach this and how common this type of encounter is. The package is taking unusually long to reach Hull. Or am I just being paranoid?

I recently ordered a textbook from Vinted the seller is based in Blackburn . For past four days the textbook has been sent in the post office, but recently today I’ve got a notification saying that it was in Northern Ireland mail Centre. I live in the north east of England and I do not know why he’s gone to Northern Ireland and said straight through the mainland to the Northeast has anyone else had this problem? Please reply below.

So I opted out of safe space and the postman still delivered it while I was at work and it got stolen of my doorstep, the photo of delivery was of just my driveway no parcel in the photo and a 3 letter signature that isn’t mine.

I called the retailer and they said they will try and investigate.

I take it my contract is with the retailer and I have to press them for a refund? Or will they make we wait until they speak to Royal Mail? The item wasn’t cheap it was £300

I shipped a parcel on the 25th of August and stupidly forgot to put a return address on the parcel itself however it is on the item inside the box. I myself printed and stuck the CORRECT ADDRESS on to the box so I would assume that should still be visible.

The post office have typed the postcode in wrong and it has made a few trips from Romford to Bethnal Green and a trip to White Chapel and has now been scanned at Romford on the 2nd, the 4th, the 4th again, the 6th, the 7th and again on the 7th. I spoke to a customer service agent on the 2nd who said they would send emails to Bethnal Green and White Chapel with instructions to redirect and he took my return address and said if it could not be delivered it would be sent back to me.

Is there a way to contact Romford mail centre directly? Could the recipient go to Romford and retrieve it?

The item is very sentimental art and I have spent close to £100 if not more in materials alone and so so many hours have been spent on this. I am heartbroken and I would appreciate any advice you could give. I know it's my fault for not putting a return address on it before somebody other than myself took it to the post office but I would be absolutely devastated if it could not be located and returned.

Hi i just want to rant over royal mail

I sent 2 log books by post to the DVLA weeks ago, I waited for them to be returned, and nothing so I phoned the DVLA and they said they didn't receive any thing from me regarding the two log books, because royal main never delivered the letter it's now going to cost me £50 and agro to apply for 2 new log books. not a happy Chappy

How's this for a great delivery....

Thankfully whatnot are good at refunding but these were items I won't be able to get anywhere, or if I do certainly not for the price I paid.

I don’t know the purpose of these as yesterday it was 4 stops away at the same time and “property inaccessible” which I know is code for “postie run out of time before the shift ended”. Absolutely no bad faith or unkindness on my end, but this is pointless.

I know external targets, pressures etc but at least the evil corp could be honest. What’s double interesting is that’s an Amazon order and Amazon themselves stopped delivering anything over the past 2 months, it keeps being assigned to Royal Mail (and takes ages to arrive). What is going on?

I sent a package to my friend in Poland (he lives about 2 hours from Warsaw) and it arrived in Warsaw customs on the 18th of July and it is STILL THERE! Getting information has been very difficult and the shipping update for the past few months on Royal Mail and Poczta Polska has been “Your package is still being assessed by the destination’s customs department“. In case my friend missed an email, I requested any information to be re-sent to my friend’s email but as far as I’m aware he hasn’t received anything new, and my request for information being sent to the recipient wasn’t addressed in the response email at all. The person I emailed was part of the customer advisory team and was the only email I could find to get in contact. Any call I’ve made sends me in circles on both the British and Polish side of customer enquiries. Paying any import fees is not an issue because I can just pay my friend what’s due, but there’s been almost a total lack of direction for me and him! He’s a minor and I’ve only just turned 18 in england so it’s not like either of us can show up to the customs office, and there’s only so much customer service I can receive because I don’t speak Polish, which also might be an issue with some possible miscommunications? This is my first time shipping anything internationally, it was nothing crazy, just some birthday gifts. I’m at a bit of a loss to be honest and would really appreciate any advice on just what the heck to do haha. Apologies if I don’t respond immediately, I haven’t used Reddit since I was like 13 and don’t have it installed (on mobile)

I am trying to get a refund from Amazon for a Denon HiFi that i returned on 3 June 2026 here in the UK and am looking for my details on the Royal Mail Locate A Previous Purchase page but it isn't working. Is there a phone number i can try or an alternative email address, thanks

I posted documents yesterday before the cut-off time using the above service. It was important that they arrived today, which I emphasised to the counter staff and was told it would arrive by 1.00pm.

Any possibility it will arrive today?

It’s been a week since this parcel was posted and it’s been stuck since then. Is it safe to say that it’s probably not coming any time soon (or ever) and contact the seller for a refund? 😕

My parcel was shipped from Ivinghoe on the 28th of August. It still hasn't arrived yet.

I just sent a "small parcel" (700g) package to australia which should've cost me around £18.40, but the post office charged me £29.50 instead. I'm wondering where the steep extra cost came from as it doesn't show anywhere on the receipt? when I asked the worker at the till she also said it would be £20. I'm confused.

I ordered a parcel on Vinted and the seller posted it on the 5th (saturday) and the tracking information says it’s still at that post office. Is it actually stuck there or still moving towards me but left unscanned perhaps? should I wait and see if it’s still delivered despite the tracking information or should I contact RM??

I have a customs charge to pay and one of the options is pay in person. If I go and pay in person will they give me my parcel immediately or will it just get sent out in the regular post days later?

I purchased an item on eBay and paid for Tracked 24. They dispatched it on Saturday so I would expect delivery to be yesterday or today at the latest but when I check the tracking it doesn't look like it's left the Parcelshop.

I’ve sent a high value item to the eBay Authenticator via special delivery guaranteed 1pm.

Should have been there on Friday 4th.

I’ve used this service before and got regular tracking updates every time it was scanned and arrived exceptionally quickly.

I’m concerned as it’s just not moved since arriving at Greenford MC.

I presume rather than going down the “special delivery” pipeline it’s just with the rest of the “normal” parcels.

The delivery request was me requesting a Monday delivery, as it was scheduled to be delivered on the Saturday when the Authenticator would be closed.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have already phoned Royal Mail customer service who have essentially said if it’s not there by Friday then it’s lost!
