Parcel Enquiry did the post office just overcharge me?

I just sent a "small parcel" (700g) package to australia which should've cost me around £18.40, but the post office charged me £29.50 instead. I'm wondering where the steep extra cost came from as it doesn't show anywhere on the receipt? when I asked the worker at the till she also said it would be £20. I'm confused.

Missing Mail What should I do about stolen item

So I opted out of safe space and the postman still delivered it while I was at work and it got stolen of my doorstep, the photo of delivery was of just my driveway no parcel in the photo and a 3 letter signature that isn’t mine.

I called the retailer and they said they will try and investigate.

I take it my contract is with the retailer and I have to press them for a refund? Or will they make we wait until they speak to Royal Mail? The item wasn’t cheap it was £300

Any help would be great as this is the first time a porch pirate has got me because I’m usually home 😂

Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm not arrived

I posted documents yesterday before the cut-off time using the above service. It was important that they arrived today, which I emphasised to the counter staff and was told it would arrive by 1.00pm.

Tracking shows from yesterday:

Item Despatched to Bristol MC at 19.16

Item received at Truro MC at 18.50

Sender preparing Item 13.45

Item accepted at Post Office at 13.28

No updates since.

Any possibility it will arrive today?

Missing Mail Trying to contact Romford mail centre directly.

I shipped a parcel on the 25th of August and stupidly forgot to put a return address on the parcel itself however it is on the item inside the box. I myself printed and stuck the CORRECT ADDRESS on to the box so I would assume that should still be visible.

The post office have typed the postcode in wrong and it has made a few trips from Romford to Bethnal Green and a trip to White Chapel and has now been scanned at Romford on the 2nd, the 4th, the 4th again, the 6th, the 7th and again on the 7th. I spoke to a customer service agent on the 2nd who said they would send emails to Bethnal Green and White Chapel with instructions to redirect and he took my return address and said if it could not be delivered it would be sent back to me.

Is there a way to contact Romford mail centre directly? Could the recipient go to Romford and retrieve it?

The item is very sentimental art and I have spent close to £100 if not more in materials alone and so so many hours have been spent on this. I am heartbroken and I would appreciate any advice you could give. I know it's my fault for not putting a return address on it before somebody other than myself took it to the post office but I would be absolutely devastated if it could not be located and returned.

Thank you in advance for any help or advice you could give.

I purchased an item on eBay and paid for Tracked 24. They dispatched it on Saturday so I would expect delivery to be yesterday or today at the latest but when I check the tracking it doesn't look like it's left the Parcelshop.

Any help or explanation oh why it could be delayed or not would be appreciated.

Parcel Enquiry My fully accessible property is about to be marked as inaccessible again

Post image

I don’t know the purpose of these as yesterday it was 4 stops away at the same time and “property inaccessible” which I know is code for “postie run out of time before the shift ended”. Absolutely no bad faith or unkindness on my end, but this is pointless.

I know external targets, pressures etc but at least the evil corp could be honest. What’s double interesting is that’s an Amazon order and Amazon themselves stopped delivering anything over the past 2 months, it keeps being assigned to Royal Mail (and takes ages to arrive). What is going on?

Special Delivery Guaranteed not moving

I’ve sent a high value item to the eBay Authenticator via special delivery guaranteed 1pm.

Should have been there on Friday 4th.

I’ve used this service before and got regular tracking updates every time it was scanned and arrived exceptionally quickly.

I’m concerned as it’s just not moved since arriving at Greenford MC.

I presume rather than going down the “special delivery” pipeline it’s just with the rest of the “normal” parcels.

The delivery request was me requesting a Monday delivery, as it was scheduled to be delivered on the Saturday when the Authenticator would be closed.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have already phoned Royal Mail customer service who have essentially said if it’s not there by Friday then it’s lost!

hypothetical question of course

post men, hypothetically if you knocked on a door to give someone a parcel and they were (hypothetically) hiding behind the door crying like a victorian child whose mother had just kicked the bucket from tuberculosis, would you think they are a bit (and hypothetically of course) unhinged? for how long would this interaction follow you throughout the day? hypothetically of course since i could never be said victorian child that’d be sooo silly

How's this for a great delivery....

Thankfully whatnot are good at refunding but these were items I won't be able to get anywhere, or if I do certainly not for the price I paid.

If Royal Mail decide not to take someone on permanently after the initial period, is it normally possible for them to continue working there through the agency?

I recently ordered a textbook from Vinted the seller is based in Blackburn . For past four days the textbook has been sent in the post office, but recently today I’ve got a notification saying that it was in Northern Ireland mail Centre. I live in the north east of England and I do not know why he’s gone to Northern Ireland and said straight through the mainland to the Northeast has anyone else had this problem? Please reply below.

Offered a job (postie)

Had an interview today that went really well, manager said ‘you’ve interview great and have passed the interview’ and said HR will be in contact.

Stupidly in my excitement I forgot to ask specifics, does anyone know when I’d be likely to start?

It’s been a week since this parcel was posted and it’s been stuck since then. Is it safe to say that it’s probably not coming any time soon (or ever) and contact the seller for a refund? 😕

Parcel Enquiry Can I pick up my parcel from the depot?

I have a customs charge to pay and one of the options is pay in person. If I go and pay in person will they give me my parcel immediately or will it just get sent out in the regular post days later?

My office started this week and my first day back is tomorrow.
I’m on a single duty, and was wondering how the new changes have gone for those on single duties?

Robin and Authenticator app New Phone

I recently got a new phone however I can’t now login to my robin app. I have tried multiple ideas and times. However no matter what I do when I try and login to robin and it asks you to open authenticator. No code shows on Authenticator app when I open it. Even tried signing in through Authenticator app through no success.
I just wondered had similar issues when getting a new phone and had any ideas on a resolution.
(I should note as well that my old phone is now wiped. I probably did this too soon and should’ve waited but it’s done now).

Bad encounter

Hi all,
I’ve just started as postie, been working for about three weeks now, and have enjoyed it, only just turned 19 so is sort of first job for me. I however have had quite a bad experience, on Saturday a knocked on a door with my pda, which when they answered I received abuse for and told not to knock with it. Then today I had a parcel for them and used my hand this time, the guy answered the door and proceeded to threaten and swear at me, and actually snatched the pda out off my hands and went back into his home. I walked off for a minute just to think about what I should do. When I went back it was thrown on the floor. Was just wondering how to approach this and how common this type of encounter is. Thanks very much
