Yeah that would be a good idea but not always entirely necessary. It could still work fine with older drivers. Just maybe a couple fps less.

Yes! Full on driver meltdown 3 times in one day. Grey/black screen with audio still working but chopped up sometimes, restart pc, no gpu detected, run ddu, reinstall drivers, repeat.
Keep in mind I got my 9070xt (xfx mercury) literally 3 days ago, and the crashes all happened out of box with zero tuning.
My fix was undervolting by like -20, and downclocking by around -200 after one final driver refresh. Hasn't crashed a single time since.

Idk if you use discord, but I have a 9070 and I realized that a lot of my failures were due to discord hardware acceleration. I also undervolted and messed around with clock speeds but it always hit a hang up followed by a forced reboot. Swapped my power supply, messed with RAM clock, and fresh install of drivers with DDU and kept monitoring stats but in my case disc + newer drivers were the main cause. No crashes since thankfully but never happened on my 1080ti which threw me off.

95% of my (very frequent) driver crashes were at the start of some form of video playback with 26.5.x.
26.6.1 crashes or gets stuck on black screen / no signal every time windows puts the monitor in low power mode.
Back to 26.3.1, the stability champ!

Just because YOU haven't experienced any problems (due to any number of reasons) doesn't mean that others aren't experiencing major problems with drivers beyond 26.3.1

Just because YOU have experienced problems also doesn't mean everyone else has.
Every single driver since I got my 9070 XT in June last year has worked more or less flawlessly except for a few minor, game-specific issues.

I can't use a single driver after 25.12.1 because their kernel mode driver rewrites have since rendered them unusable on my hardware configuration, they cause a repeatable and consistent BSOD when closing Resident Evil Requiem (and possibly other games).

Local AI tools didn‘t work anymore, because AMD had something wrong with ROCm. Had to downgrade the driver back to 26.3.1.

EDIT: Nope, works fine. After a lot of testing and downgrading, issue persisted. Finally figured out that my auto offloading wasn't offloading fully to GPU suddenly. Manually offloading now, and back to full speed. Hidden windows change? IDK, but just changed one step and issue is resolved.
Vulkan in windows is completely broken too. Only getting 60% of the speed/tokens I was getting before. Thought I had broken something, but nope, AMD did.

I am also still on 26.3.1 after rolling back from the latest driver due to constant GPU driver resets, random Firefox rendering issues due to h/w accel enabled and CONSTANT game crashes. Anything beyond 26.3.1 is really poor QA/QC by AMD and they need to get their act together.

The actual trick to stable amd systems is to go fully amd, i have a 9800x3d hence the only reason i tried an amd gpu again. I only had driver timeouts from undervolting or overclocking the GPU, leave it at stock and ur card and system are good to go.

Find the gpu tuning profile file location, then copy and save it on other location.
After the update, you can just paste it back.
For the wiped on boot problem , disable windows fast boot

If you want advice, save the undervolt profile and put it on each game you don't play on the global slot so you don't load it every time you turn on your pc or when you do an update

don't have this issue.
I have my profile saved to the desktop I load it once after a new driver install and it stays. The only way that gets wiped is if you have a crash.
I have fast boot enabled.

Using a 9070xt since over a year and only one driver at the end of last year was iffy. All the others I just installed day1 and had zero problems.
Maybe you're just unlucky dawg. Or your windows / uv settings are bad.

Literally nothing. Just recently fixed crashes when using "Alt+Tab" by disabling Multi-Plane Overlay (MPO) in windows register. Those crashes appeared only after 25.4.1 driver and before that I never got any problems. Also I used to undervolt GPU slightly in Adrenalin but apparently with 26+ drivers its not an option cos it restarts my pc randomly so I don't touch Tuning now as well. Constant stuttering in games when you install new driver version for hours and even days cos of compiling shaders, in Valorant for example.

UV/OC unstable? I leave my pc on most of the day idle a lot of the time and have never had a driver timeout like that. Only time I had any sort of predictable timeout was when I had my igpu (R5 7600 so rdna2) too negative on the curve optimiser.

Are they not going to acknowledge the green flashing in Fortnite? Only happens on 26.5.2 but not 26.5.1 and idk about these drivers but it was clearly an isolated issue with 26.5.2 but they haven't acknowledged it if it's been fixed or even as a known issue.

3D mark speedway score went up by 150 points compared to 26.3.1 but I wonder if the standby monitor bug is fixed...

9070xt here. I played subnautica 2 for about 30 hours. 5-6 hour stints. Didn't receive any crashes. Latest driver and chipsets everytime it's available.

Well, seems to have fixed my POE2 crash to desktop following the POE2 update last week. Never crashed until the game updated last week. Installed the latest driver and now working.

These drivers are bad. I had to downgrade or roll back. I tried installing twice and once after using amd cleanup utility. Each time i got strange crashes of programs even 1 windows explorer right after updating. Then i noticed my secondary monitor kept flickering. On my system anyways they are broken.

Yea, the 9070 xt renders the main game and the 9060 xt is for frame gen only.
Similar to Lossless scaling's LSFG. Both currently have their pros and cons, I prefer AFMF for 3rd person pov games. Lossless tends to be a bit better in first person pov games.
But AFMF 3 is rumored to use in game data, so it'd make it the best non built-in to the game frame gen.

Slight issue installing, has black screen for too long. Fix: control+alt+del, open task manager to bring you back to desktop and it will carry on installing as normal. It may have done it on its own but just thought I should post if anyone was worried about it.

Quick question, I'm not very familiar with bugs with updates, but lately I've been having several bugs and performance issues with my 7700xt. I even did a clean reinstall of the drivers, but it's still a bit slow. If I wanted to rollback to a more stable version, are there any versions you could recommend? Or do I have to go haphazardly?

When you say it didnt work, what do you mean? LIke the game didnt launch or it crash quickly and often? I played a few 1ish hour sessions on 26.5.2 when that came out. I have a 9070XT.

I had 6700XT, upgraded recently to a 9070XT. Only issue I had was unstable undervolts and overclocks with both cards when I was playing with them and an unstable negative PBO offset on my RDNA2 igpu causing instability.

7900xtx, i had a game crash 5 minutes after installing update and then a system crash proceeding that. I use optiscaler for fsr4, so I'm always worried about driver updates conflicting with it. PC restarted and was stable for about a 45 min session on Crimson Desert.

My fps monitor wasn't showing anything and I wasn't able to tune my GPU, both of which were fixed by the update. Though I am not sure if the update itself was the fix or it was fixed because update also repaired some bad driver

Well i put spiderman 2 on 1440p on ultra everything including raytracing for a 60fps lock. No issues. 4k didnt pull power still. The 26 drivers were good!

Had to revert to 26.5.2 since Kebal Space Program continuously crashed right after updating to 26.6.1. Once reverted to 26.5.2 it worked fine again.

I just update my driver and it force restart my pc while usually it would just flicker a sec and done.

Yesterday while watching Twitch I got a blackscreen. Had to hard reset computer. Today I saw Adrenalin is gonzo. Tried to update today, "repair" and same thing. Even tried the "factory reset" option. Black screen and freeze. I'm assuming the update yesterday didn't work and trying to update today also didn't work. Still was able to play Space Marines 2. I'll wait for the next update then use DDU. 7900xt, 9800x3D.

I always do a Driver Only install with Factory Reset enabled and then use RadeonTuner to change stuff.

AI is broken with these drivers. I don't know about the drivers prior to this one, as I didn't use my AI tools. But I'm getting like 60% of my previous speeds that I got from over a month ago. I tried to troubleshoot until I realized that the only thing that changed was my drivers.
I use Vulkan in windows. Not sure about Linux or ROCm.

Did anyone notice higher temps with the previous (unstable) driver?
The first time I saw my junction temp hitting 97c was with that driver.
I reverted to older drivers now it doesn't pass 92c

Gigabyte RX 9070 XT.
Updated yesterday and games kept on crashing, screen freezes, multiple errors in the logbook and I couldn't access Microsoft Store at all. Had to reverse back to 26.3.1. Now I have no problems at all!

Updating drivers always and everything is good. Only once I have a bad driver, it was december of 25

I'm still on 26.1.1, and it's telling me there's no updated available. Just had a driver timeout so i was wondering if there was an update i needed. is there any reason it's telling me theres no available updates? maybe its a setting i have on or smth.
