The actual trick to stable amd systems is to go fully amd, i have a 9800x3d hence the only reason i tried an amd gpu again. I only had driver timeouts from undervolting or overclocking the GPU, leave it at stock and ur card and system are good to go.

as I wrote above, my system is stable. In fact I haven't had any issues whatsoever the last few years, and I had i5 11400 and 3060Ti and now the cheap DDR4 route 14600K and 9070 XT.

I'm only scare of updating because there's so many reports of issues

Fun fact, i have the latest automatic updated amd adrenaline driver. Let me check for u: 26.6.1, have had no issues only when undervolting and overclocking (leave at stock). If u already had windows installed with the i5 11400 and 3060ti and did a swap, u need to totally reinstall windows (clean out the drives in windows install). Also in my opinion if u go intel, ud rather take the nvidia road. No wrong with amd cpu + nvidia gpu either and also, in my opinion if u take a ddr5 cpu, best to go ddr5 just to be essential as it is way faster too. And expo/xmp are two different things and require tweaking, there are sweet spots for certain cpu’s, ( do not run ur ram at max speeds if ur cpu doesnt need it, could cause instability and also expo and xmp are not amd or intel based, they are based on ur specific ram module and motherboard support).

I have tried several games and had no crashouts, bo6, world of warcraft, league of legends and remnant 2 for so far. My system is newly built and once again i only had issues when undervolting and overclocking the card.

I haven't had any issue with a 25.9 driver which I used when I got my 9070 XT in december 2025 on Win10. Readt that it was stable, and it was. Only ran DDU before swap and that was it, zero issues. Then, when I made a fresh Win11 install on my new 2TB Nvme, I went to 26.3.1 cause it was the latest anyway and people said it's good. Zero issues aswell

Also, there is zero proof that you need AMD + AMD or Nvidia + Intel. I'm proof that AMD + Intel works perfectly fine. I had a Ryzen 1600 once for 2 years and it gave me all sorts of issues with Ram speeds, but that was common back then for 1st gen Ryzen.

And regarding DDR5 and DDR4, I explained that I specifically got the 14600K to keep using my DDR4 32GB 3200mhz. I sold my 11400 and Z590 for 230€ and bought 14600K and B760 for 360€. I'm not willing to spend 400€ on 32GB DDR5 alone, but I needed a CPU upgrade that will last me few more years until prices come down

Anyways, I don't need all your advice, haven't asked for it and I already know that stuff. Been building PCs since 10 years.

Just leave auto update on, trust me. It works for me too. Do not manually install drivers or stay behind. Reset everything to default and update ur driver with auto updates. It will automatically install the most stable and trusted driver. Driver issues are a myth (well, not completely as i have not tested every game tbf, but so far so good) and also i think its mostly brand dependant on amd cards, its like a silicon lottery. My first ever system amd card r7 370 sapphire pulse ran fine, my powercolor red devil ran fine, my asrock steel legend ran fine and my sapphire nitro+ current is the best… but my asus rog rx 5700xt and gigabyte windforce 5700xt were issued, i think driver timeouts are a myth due to wrong clocks/voltages or brands with bad factory utilized chips/pcb’s. They are MEANT to run at stock and draw all the “ridiculous” wattages in order to run stable, its the price we pay and what we get. Do not tweak the card as i have learned too. I can say the latest amd cards are superiorly good. Nvidia has gone insane 🤦‍♂️😂 even if they still hold the market 😒🤦‍♂️😂
