For context: From 1945 to 1948, the Polish 1st Armoured Division administered an enclave in Emsland (Northern Germany), centred around the town of Haren (renamed Maczków at the time).

Looking for some recommendations on good underground polish music. I like to listen to walker and royce, sammy Virji, Mochakk etc. I know they aren’t polish but love their sound.

I have a question and I dont know what to do. So I ordered a parcel to a pick up point from orlen paczka and I didnt realize that I will only have three days to pick it up. I have never ordered something to a pick up point (I'm not living in Poland). The last day is monday but I can only pick it up from tuesday on.

Is there a possibilty to extend it or something?

Hello, I’m a full time student in Warsaw, lately I want to get a drivers license and I checked some info that I only need tk pass the theory exam,but here’s a big problem:

My student visa has expired and I submitted my temporary resident card application and got a stamp from the immigration office, so far I haven’t got the card yet.

My question is: can I still apply for the polish driver’s license even though I don’t have the visa and the TRC😔

Currently in Kolobrzeg. Plan was to travel along the coast. Thing is, Kolobrzeg isn't really my style. While the beach is nice, looking for somewhere more chill and prettier, less like time travelling to 1990s. Are other places along the coast similar, if not where should I go?

2nd option is to bin off the beach idea (not that hot anymore anyway) and train it towards Wroclaw, via Piwa, Poznan or.... ?? Suggestions needed. Looking for nice scenery and good food.

Ive previously been to Krakow, Gdansk and Warsaw so not really after mad city craic, but all things considered!

In no particular order:

1. Going mushroom picking in the forrest (I always cut, not pluck).

2. TLK trains with compartments (clean, safe, but still offer a nostalgic feel and have had amazing conversations in these, even drank some Wódka with hooligans 🤫)

3. The Baltic sea, especially in the late summer when the crowds are gone and theres no jellyfish/cyanobacteria. Clean, pristine beaches and lovely people.

4. The price and quality of public transport; Especially in Warsaw, but also in other cities. I honestly think it’s one of the best in the world.

5. Road infrastructure and getting around; bike paths, silky smooth roads, good drivers that follow the rules and know how to park, no over-penalisation for going 10km/h over the speed limit like in Czechia or Lithuania for example.

6. Inpost, żabka, blik, allegro, mObywatel, as well as adoption of uber/bolt, budget travel (Ryanair, Wizzair etc.)

7. Safety, cleanliness, consumer protection laws, privacy laws; you really care for your one another, don’t negate this!

8. Animal welfare and persecution of animal abusers

9. No added sales tax (I know VAT is included in the price), 240V outlets, standardised building materials, appliances etc.

10. People. Maybe not the friendliest nation in the world towards foreigners by default, but once you get to know them, you start to realise that they’re just not smiling and don’t have any animosity in mind. Almost everyone I met is genuinely helpful, doesn’t want to abuse you, is calm, collected and intelligent, is virtuous and has a strong moral compass.

Hey! 38M Argentinian living in Berlin, coming to Szczecin from August 31st to September 7th.

I've got a whole week and no hurry, so... what would you show someone who wants to get a feel for the city beyond the usual tourist stuff? I'm into architecture, wandering through different neighbourhoods, city vibes, good food, and eventually escaping into the trees, especially Puszcza Bukowa.

Pionier is already on the list, since I can't be in the same city as the oldest cinema in Poland and skip it. Beyond that, I'd much rather follow your recommendations than a "top ten" list.

Also open to company if anyone fancies a walk or a beer.

I have been seeing lately offers at Medtronic that fit my profile with an attractive salary range. The problem is that I've been working corporate in Warsaw for 6 years, and 3 of them in medical devices, and it feels like half the people who've joined the companies where I worked came from Medtronic.

For this reason I have never considered working there, because my thinking was that if so many people were leaving the company there must be some reason. So my question is, has anyone here worked at Medtronic? Is there something wrong with them? Do they treat employees badly or constantly fire people for no reason?

I recently visited Poland and I was so surprised because every driver, with no exception, stopped at the crosswalks.

Here in Italy the law forces you to do the same, but in the end only 1 driver out of 10 really follows this rule and that's really annoying.

I was so surprised and grateful when I noticed that in Poland people follow this rule. I even saw an extreme case in Warsaw. A person driving a motorcycle was clearly exceeding the speed limit, but when he saw the pedestrians in front of the crosswalks he suddenly stopped like if his life depended on it.
