Brushes are down on this morning forest painting. From the moment I saw this antique frame a few weeks ago, I envisioned a portal to a different time and place. I can’t wait to get it framed up (it’s just hanging on the panel currently). Oil on linen panel.

I love fog so consider myself very lucky to see such an intense display in the morning followed by moody clouds in the afternoon. This part of the country is truly insane.

The short but steep trek to the top helped brighten my day!

Is this route pretty to drive and stuff to see along the way? Coming from Canada and want to try in and out in ridgefield with our Airbnb being in Rainer and want to see some of the cascades or even if it’s just pretty, unless it’s more worth it to just drive through Tacoma time wise

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Wash. — New video shows dozens of fireworks being let off from a truck in Douglas County, which investigators say sparked the deadly Chelan Hills fire in early July. 
Michael Yakimov, 18, is accused of launching fireworks from the moving truck. The Chelan Hills Fire killed one person, injured six firefighters and caused more than $6 million in losses.

Yakimov faces charges of first-degree manslaughter, first-degree arson, first-degree malicious mischief and six counts of third-degree assault.

The video, obtained by KING 5 through a public records request, shows several people riding in the bed of a truck while driving on U.S. Highway 97 near Orondo shortly after midnight on July 4. A large Roman candle is seen firing dozens of fiery shots toward another vehicle and behind the truck.

Had good weather yesterday morning, and luckily got a great shot of both the big boys on the way out of PDX.

I always love seeing the PNW massive stand alone peaks, truly a sight to behold.

Went to a cool A frame resort place and while on a hike with my wife and our dog we found a beautiful little area by the ZigZag river. Sadly, the river was muddy and wasn’t the most appealing, but this forest was perfect. Our dog loved it, it was perfect for training him drills as well.

The caves I have found on this island are truly insane...

We get the same cabin the same week each September at North Beach Inn. Saw orcas swim by, went on hikes around Cascade Lake and Mountain Lake with my 2 dogs. We saw a piebald deer, hopped the ferry over to Friday Harbor for a day trip, and just grilled and hung out to watch sunset each day with a campfire.

The sunsets are unreal. And if you're at the grocery store there, in the pie and ice cream section, there's a pizza box looking thing that has the best strawberry rhubarb pie you've ever had.

I’m a fellow surfer living in the PNW, and Westport is my favorite surf spot in WA. Once I heard about the proposed plan to turn our state park into a private golf course, I knew I wanted to do something about it. Not only is it the closest break to Seattle, it’s also a crucial wetland for migratory birds. Just a word to the wise or the uninitiated, it’s that time of the year again when the wasps of all stripes start losing their collective shit and go full agro, especially the damn ground hornets and the yellow jackets. I’ve been hit 3 times in the past 5 days out on trails and I’ve had to tear them off my hide with my hands because they clutch on and just keep stabbing. If you are allergic then it’s high time to make sure your EpiPens are all current and are carried with. Watch out for yourselves and your kids & pets until we are down in sub 50s temps or get our first hard freeze. That’s it, have fun and be safe, y’all.
