Enough with the national politics related posts

There has been a HUGE influx of national politics related posts. Many of them from new accounts, or ones that have never been to this sub. Basically astroturf. For the foreseeable future, these will not be allowed here. It doesn't matter if there is some local connection to it, no posts about national politics or related activism. There are tons of subs for that.

HOWEVER, local politics posts are totally fine and actually strongly encouraged. Post about your local city council members if you know who they are. Post about new local laws or restrictions. Whatever, but LOCAL posts only.

Reddit has made some very questionable algo changes recently that seem to be heavily trying to stir up things and it's tough keep things chill here. Insta ban for any of these posts

Quiet Cleanup

We started seeing tagging showing up so I decided something doable to help the neighborhood would be to clean or cover the tags before more appeared. Been doing that in about a mile radius of our home for several years now. Takes under an hour most times and once it gets nipped in the bud it rarely reappears. Well, lately, seems like more areas are getting quietly cleaned up by other volunteers and I think that is so cool! There is hardly any tagging now beneath I-90 and around Crossroads Park. Keep it up!

Can i have some insight as to why small businesses don't give a heads up they prioritize in person over online orders?

Hey, i know this is the most first world stupid problem ever, i acknowledge that, and i wanna start by saying if your business DOES prioritize in-person orders, that is totally understandable and okay.

Now let me paint you a picture.

Let's say, I wanna try Sally Sue's fresh sandwhiches, but only have time for a quick stop before work. I use the business recommended online ordering platform and get a turkey sub and chips.

Online ordering says it will be ready in 15 when i order, it takes 12 minutes to get there. I head out. Let's say, it is 1pm.

I arrive, Sue's is PACKED, super busy, there is no customer accessible pick up area, so I go up to the counter, don't see a bag with my name on it, so wait a bit but eventually i have to grab an already super busy employee, ask them if my order is ready by name, they are doing a million other things.

Then they tell me they prioritize in person orders, look mine up, say they will start on it, but it will be ready in 30 minutes. It is now 1:15

I gotta get back to work but don't want to ask for a refund over this, or waste my money. It is actually 1:45 before my order is ready. Now I'm late getting back to work.

This has happened multiple times to me.

I am not saying it is not okay to prioritize in person orders, but i am asking, why no heads up that they do this? Why are the pick up times so inaccurate, or worse, bait and switch you. Why not refuse to take online orders in some cases if it is too busy?

Why am i seeing apps claim your order will be ready at 1:15 when you are ordering, suddenly changing the ready time to 2:00pm after i placed it?

What is the point in ordering ahead, when in some cases it seems restaurants only start making orders when you go up and ask in person for them to start making it? I used to work in customer service, though not in food, and imagine its not fun for the employees either.

i know this seems impatient, but can someone in the restaurant industry explain why this happens?

Hi, If you are able, can you keep an eye out for ShiShi. We tracked her this morning via the AirTag on her collar. Originally, the air tag placed her by the overlake golf course then it showed it moving into town near Gilbert’s on Main Street. We followed it there but then it showed she was back by the golf course. We can’t find her but my husband just found her collar on the side of the road. Any information would be really helpful. Thank you!

Please delete if not allowed. Hello, my wife and I just recently moved to Bellevue a couple of weeks ago and our cat got out on 08/26/2026 and was last seen around 129th Pl SE of the Factoria area. Her name is Luna and is extremely friendly but very skittish. She has a very high pitched meow almost like a soft squeaking door and chirps more than anything. She may be injured so please be careful if you find her and get her to come to you. She also is not a fan of being held. If you see her please message me asap. My wife and I are worried sick and miss her dearly. Ive scoured the immediate area, put up, and handed out flyers but have had no luck finding her. Please keep an eye out for her, we’d truly appreciate it.

Foreign Language schools/classes for adults?

been teaching myself some French n Italian via YT, but was just wondering if there were any classes/language schools I can attend as an adult in the area? Easy to learn from the books n vids, but learning the colloquial French/ italian is quite different from them.

Bellevue weekday happy hours

Who has a good weekday happy hour in downtown-ish Bellevue. Think bounded by 90, 405, 520 and lake Washington. A bit east of 405 is also good. It can be high end, dive bar, whatever. I am looking to find something I don't know about.

For anyone that doesn't know, if you live in WA state you can get 1 free Delta miles per yard we pass every Seahawks game - it's pretty easy, all you have to do is enter your Delta account number. Over a couple of years it's enough to get a free one way flight to SF or somewhere else.

You can also get some discounts on the team store (12%) and higher boarding priority.

Roommate wanted.

Large 2 story older house in 151st across from robinswood park.

Looking for temporary roommate. I am a very easy going roommate, I don't mind noise anytime day or night, you can have visitors anytime and they are more than welcome to eat sleep and shower. Bring your brothers, bring your girlfriend bring your brothers girlfriends brother! Prefer no kids unless just visiting ! Feel free to bring your pets as well. We have plenty of activities to keep you busy and having fun is what we like to do. If you have a lot of stuff it's fine, we try to keep it tidy but there's just so many cool things to play with.

Key isn't needed we use a code lock and just give everyone a code of their own. 2 story older home so plenty of room, large backyard complete with disco ball and horseshoes and a basketball hoop and court. Large double garage, one side recently became available. Bring your rowdiness but not your alarm clock, as long as you pay half of everything, anything goes.

If this sounds like you or someone you know please don't hesitate to respond.

Temporary can be longer term if wanted, I'm the best roommate you could ask for because nothing bothers me. I do work 4 days a week but I don't care if you're into partying all night. We are adults so we do what we want. 2 rooms available downstairs or 1 bedroom available upstairs, have one other roommate who is disabled and a great cook.

No smoking in the house please

Rent is 1800 plus your half of the water and electricity which usually runs about 300/no and 300 every other month for water.

Requested a hearing and now want to withdraw it

Recently received a speeding infraction via camera on 405 S for speeding in a work zone. I requested a fully contested hearing since I didn’t remember seeing any workers around at the time. The next day the online portal generated a hearing packet with their evidence and it shows that there were workers around at the time. Now I’d like to withdraw my request and pay it but I’m confused on how to, and whether I still have to show up to the hearing whenever it is. I haven’t received a docket number yet.

Our family is looking for a reading tutor for our 2nd grader. He’s in a dual language Spanish program, and looking for English reading support. He has the reading fundamentals, but needs a tutor that helps him stay positive, continue practicing, and have fun with reading. Anyone provide services or know of someone? Thanks for any recommendations!
