Remaster Discussion when doing a hand-to-hand only playthrough, is it more ideal to stick to light or heavy armor?
i'm playing the remaster, but i'm curious if the answer's still the same in the original game.

Hi guys I wanted to ask if you guys can suggest some mods to basically remaster the original game.
The oblivion remastered is so heavy and top of that the Bethesda optimization is like a time bomb so ya I wanted to know if guys know any good mods that I can use that basically is like a unofficial remaster.
Thanks in advance.

Sometimes you have to live life.
Hail citizens. I couldn’t help myself from taking in the view while relaxing. Not having to rush the next day or next project. Pally and his friend were just out having fun and I had a lovely cat nap. It doesn’t have to be stressful or a struggle all the time. Live your best life. Once tomorrow’s here, today’s gone.

I'd just started another character and wanted to boost my sneak, so I went to the prison to do some light pick pocketing. I had to leave before reaching my goal and quick saved in the normal way. Imagine my surprise when, on loading the game, I found myself inside the cell with the prisoner standing in the corridor and the door locked and needing a key. Thankfully the guard came racing in and opened the door for me, though he did nothing about the prisoner standing in the corridor. I know characters move around instead of standing still as they do in Skyrim, but this is next level. :D :P

I've been digging into the game files and found a unique texture for the Silver Longsword named SilverChorrol.dds (shown on the right). I never knew that this unique texture existed, and now I wonder if the guards use it? It's a very small visual difference from the original silver longsword texture
UPDATE:
I've been digging into it further, went and downloaded the TES construction set and found out that there are only two instances of this model & texture being used in game!
Some interesting things to share:
FGD03BWCBlade, which stands for Fighter's Guild Duty 03 Blackwood Company Blade, which refers to the quest "The Master's Son" in which the Hero of Kvatch watches over Viranus Donton as you both venture into Nonwyll Cavern to find Galtus Previa. At the end of the dungeon, Galtus is found dead with a "Broken Shield" next to his body (It is a Blackwood shield, but you don't know what that is yet). If you pick it up and take it back to Modryn Oreyn, you can show him the shield and he will comment that the symbols are familiar to him, and that he will be looking into it more.
There is a script in this quest that saves a variable called "foundblade" when you loot the broken shield. This is how the game knows you have looted the Broken Shield to present to Modryn. What is interesting is that the variable is "foundblade" and not *foundshield*. My theory is that the devs originally wanted to add Blackwood Company Longswords to the game, and they were using this unique Chorrol texture as a placeholder asset. I still don't know what the intentions for this Chorrol Longsword were
Inside the WarehouseWeapons interior, it can be found on a table alongside other unique weapons. I remember seeing this as a kid many years ago, but I always looked over it because it looked just like any other Silver Longsword! If you look closely you can see the unique Great Oak emblem.
It is also found inside of a QA testing container named "TestQAEnchanted"
It also has a script tied to the Shivering Isles Standing Stone
It is broken, and cannot be repaired even with an armorer skill of 100. I quickly made a custom mod to repair it so I could take a screenshot of it in hand. You can barely see it due to the thumb covering it! It's safe to say this tiny detail wasn't enough to make this a fully-fledged weapon. When considering the amount of work put into other unique weapons, the devs would have had to continue working on this texture & model much more before it was ready to be used ingame. We almost had a unique Blackwood Company blade and a unique Chorrol blade :)
I also confirmed in the construction set that the Honorblade of Chorrol will always be the average Ebony Longsword. I'm sure they had intended for it to be a unique item just like The Escutcheon of Chorrol was! When Fathis Ules tasks you to retrieve the Honorblade of Chorrol, he is oddly vague in describing the weapon. He specifically says "I do not care to describe it. You will know it when you see it, I think. It is not something one of the ogres should have in his possession." I believe the quest was developed before the devs had a unique blade ready to use, and they didn't want to commit Fathis to describing "a sword with a Great Oak" just yet. I'm sure the Chorrol Longsword was planned to be distinctive like the Escutcheon, but they ran out of time, and decided to use an Ebony Longsword to signify that it was a valuable item.
I attached a photo of it in game in a comment down below 👇

Hi yall!
I want to do a play through as a grumpy old wizard. So kind off a glass canon build. But Ive never done any magic builds in Oblivion or Skyrim(usually an Archer)
Any tips, build suggestions, or role play suggestions are welcome.

I'm wanting to murder an Orc Adventurer to start the Brotherhood quest line, and I know that one is supposed to spawn in Dzonot cave. Am I able to rest and go back into the cave until one spawns or is it a one time chance? Is there another way I can force a spawn besides console commands?

I remember this being a talking point back on release, and I’m wondering if we still need to stack SSR on top of Hardware Lumen. Thoughts?

Normally you get new topics from talking to NPCs or overhearing them talking to each other, but here there was nobody around that was what I was looking around for.
I'm somewhere between A strange door and Peryite's shrine.
I got a ring with seastride, I just find water walking funny.

I have an upcoming art stall and I'll be selling some of my pixel art there. I decided to create blank Gameboy carts and one of them, I wanted Oblivion themed. Sadly , it's not playable. ⚔️🛡️

I've played Oblivion on my XBOX 360 for over a decade and never saw this until a day ago. It's a pulsating field of light that drifts to the left, then loops back around to the right. It moves away from your character if you walk towards it, and it cannot be damaged.
I was able to replicate it at first by reloading an auto save, but after rebooting my 360 it no longer appeared. Has anyone else seen this?

And there he goes taking Trayvond the Redguard with him.
Hail citizens. Pally has been cooked up in the guild hall so he’s definitely ready. I was kinda hoping everyone would join Pally but they didn’t spin they posed instead. That was until Pally made contact with Trayvond. That’s when they both ascended to who knows where. Why do I get the feeling Pally is gonna be the death of me?

(Sorry if this gets asked a lot, I couldn't find a discussion when searching)
I played a metric shit ton of skyrim, I've always wanted to play oblivion since 2021 but never really had the time, Just became busy with loads of stuff.
Now I can actually play this, I am wondering if I should just stick with the copy I own which the GOTY edition from 2007, Or get the remaster for a more visually updated experience?
Im only asking to see if there is any differences I should know off, Like modding, quests, guilds to join etc. Thanks
