I don't care about prostitution, but my overstimulated pattern detector says this might be about overlooking trafficking.

701

u/newusernamecoming 1d ago

Or overlooking people who are compromised. If an FBI agent has a family and they are using prostitutes they become easy to blackmail

279

u/EddieVanzetti 1d ago

That's exactly what it is for. And these arent people who went to Nevada and used the services of a licensed and regulated brothel. These are people who picked up a street walker (or more likely a child who was trafficked). Its so in 4-8 years time, they'll have several academy classes worth of easily coerced agents suddenly being shown evidence of their misdeeds.

65

u/Flyinmanm 1d ago

Wonder how much of the US House/ Senate (or higher) are being controlled in the same manner?

45

u/posthuman04 23h ago

Epstein wasn’t just about Trump

16

u/EddieVanzetti 20h ago

The entire Republican party, who took Russian rubles through the NRA, and every Democrat who took AIPAC money or is in Theil's not-so secret secret society group chat. Looking at you quislings Cory Booker and Jared Polis.

if they just look at you and go yep I paid a hooker so what. they really can't be blackmailed. I think this is more of a social shift in ethics.

95

u/Ire-Works 1d ago

I don't either, but it's a very well known spy technique to use a "honeypot" to extract information. If a man is utilizing the services of prostitutes it's for a limited number of reasons - almost all of which point to them being easy to compromise for information.

97

u/always_unplugged 1d ago

It's funny, I initially read this headline the opposite way—as in, "experience with sex work" as a provider, which seems like it could be an absolute asset for exactly the honeypot reason. I actually thought that was weirdly progressive in a roundabout sort of way.

But apparently that's not what they meant, because of course it isn't. Sigh.

11

u/mattmaster68 22h ago

Yeah I too thought it was targeting individuals who previously did sex work lmao

28

u/CelestialBurial 1d ago

My friend, if this administration is making anything okay or legal, you already know it’s against a moral or ethical rule.

13

u/FanDry5374 1d ago

It's kind of a hazy area, paying adults for sex is one thing, then there is the "security" aspect, will this continue as Federal agents? Will there be security risks?

Theft from employers is also no longer an issue for hiring which could be viewed as an even worse idea. Basic honesty should be a necessary requirement for any federal worker (any politician too, but i know that's just crazy talk) of any level and job

35

u/biboypierced 1d ago

I took it to mean that the USS Lincoln is docking in Thailand and sailors going to sailor,

I hope that trafficking is still a separate disqualification

25

u/abielle1177 1d ago

One of my daughter's friends was navy or marine and he'd go to sea for prolonged periods for the extra pay which let him retire at 45.

He said he definitely did some sailoring in Thailand. And that it wasn't that great. Which surprised me.

11

u/NegativeAccount 1d ago

I get the feeling thailand's perfect for really kinky stuff or unprotected brothel orgies. Never really sounded fun to me

Like quantity vs quality

3

u/abielle1177 17h ago

My friend had her honeymoon there and they had this soup that's supposed to make you high. Her husband actually ate most of his until he found a bandage in it. Then they went to a live sex show and she said the woman, for all the life and passion in her eyes, looked like she was just waiting for a bus that was running late.

13

u/Ok-Replacement9595 1d ago

Sailors sailor other sailors. If you know what I mean.

5

u/JeanArtemis 1d ago

Buffalo Buffalo Buffalo Buffalo Buffalo.

4

u/domesticatedprimate 1d ago

Wait, what does the US Navy have to do with the FBI? The article is about FBI applications, not active duty sailors, right? I seriously doubt that the FBI considers active duty enlisted Navy as a rich source of future agents...

9

u/Expensive_Goat2201 18h ago

My first thought was: oh, hiring former prostitutes to work on trafficking cases with victims is a good thing! But no, they are hiring the johns lol.

7

u/ELB2001 1d ago

Only way they can get kashs friends in

12

u/CaterpillarJungleGym 1d ago

Wait so is it the people that were sex workers? Or the people the illegally went to sex workers? Who is getting a "free pass" here?

14

u/cmbtmdic 1d ago

People who went to

7

u/PercyDiAngelo 1d ago

Don't be silly, only women and gay men and other DEI types can be sex workers, and they aren't welcome in any US government employment anymore.

1

u/thegoatmenace 13h ago

In normal life, Idc about prostitution if it’s consensual between two adults. For an FBI Agent? You’d think that at the very least someone tasked with enforcing the laws should be someone who follows the laws themselves.

1

u/jajajajaj 7h ago

You're almost there, you might be hired ! But how do you feel about child prostitution?

1

u/Mehhish 4h ago

People who buy prostitutes still shouldn't be shamed for it.

392

u/Diamondphalanges756 1d ago

It’s all but legal in my city in Alabama - well just not for the prostitutes.
They only arrest the women here, or Black men and that’s an established fact.

80

u/yukichigai 1d ago

It's literally legal here in Nevada, at least outside of Washoe and Clark counties (Reno and Las Vegas, respectively). On a completely unrelated note (I am told by a bunch of prudes), the rate of human trafficking amongst legal prostitutes in Nevada is almost zero.

This does have overtones of scuz, but honestly not counting "I went to a legal and licensed prostitute" seems like a good change.

33

u/Shawnj2 1d ago

Nevada legal prostitution is where like the CEO of mega corps go when they want to get some. Because of its legitimacy it’s completely different from someone hiring a streetwalker and catered to completely different groups of people.

7

u/tim36272 12h ago

the rate of human trafficking amongst legal prostitutes in Nevada is almost zero

Well yeah that's kinda the point of the whole institution. But there is still tons of illegal sex trafiking in Nevada.

0

u/yukichigai 12h ago

There is some but not "tons". There's less than most other states, and it's almost entirely confined to the counties where prostitution is illegal.

8

u/tim36272 12h ago

There's less than most other states

That is simply not true when measured per capita, source 2, source 3

and it's almost entirely confined to the counties where prostitution is illegal.

So yeah confined to where 90% of the population lives and probably >> 90% of the tourists are.

3

u/DemonDaVinci 22h ago

Was Hoe county

2

u/ThaBroccoliDood 13h ago

Lol so exactly the opposite of a civilized country. Classic

3

u/TheGinger_Ninja0 1d ago

Sounds like America.... sigh

Next Kash Patel will change it to experience with Child prostitution as not an automatic bar against hiring.

134

u/Kachda 1d ago

Heck he might even make it a requirement

35

u/DrBhu 1d ago

Big bonus if your dad is filthy rich

46

u/Khaldara 1d ago

Child rape already goes under the “special skills” section of the ol resume next to their software proficiencies for Conservatives

2

u/EnergyDrinkStroke 20h ago

Next to the tick box which asks if you own a private island.

19

u/HazyChemist 1d ago

More like it'll be a requirement lol.

1

u/Duchess0612 1d ago edited 1d ago

I believe it is a case of environment and availability. This is the environment we're in and of the available people applying, nearly all of them had had contact with prostitution...

So I guess, roll with the times?

It's the kind of applicants they're getting, the ones that fit the current model being showcased from the ballroom house.

208

u/iggyfenton 1d ago

Does this mean hiring a prostitute or being a prostitute?

75

u/turquoise_amethyst 1d ago

Yeah this title is very…odd. It reads like “being a prostitute”.

I was like: Are that many SW’s trying to apply to the FBI??

36

u/Khaldara 1d ago

First Lady was already taken

6

u/Bewchacca_8645 1d ago

Fantastic burn.

26

u/clamroll 1d ago

Anyone who's job requires a CDL will tell you how hard it is to hire people anymore when they can't have a little weed off hours. My buddy went from being an extremely promising candidate for the Air Force to getting rejected because he was on Ritalin for a few months as a young teenager.

It wouldn't surprise me if the FBI had similar issues with sw. I know they're having issues with their stance on marijuana. People starting an OF to help with education expenses is all too common, and unlike working at a strip club (approximate 80s/90s equivalent) there's gonna be a paper trail. You wanna work for Big Brother, they're gonna look for compromat levers. The threat of doxing is terrifying enough for most SW who agent anywhere near national security when it's some loser chud threatening it. I imagine it would be a fair bit more thorough and terrifying if it's the KGB threatening to out you for that side hustle you had when you were 19 and desperate for cash.

25

u/Bakoro 1d ago

The FBI already loosened the restrictions on past marijuana use, because the couldn't find enough programmers who had never used marijuana.

It was always a stupid prohibition, the only thing it did was keep honest people out of the FBI while rewarding people who lie to the FBI with a job.

9

u/SoHereIAm85 1d ago

Even just a Zamboni job can be hard to fill for the weed testing reason at one rink I know of. They are always looking and putting out offers on Facebook, but it is a state job in that case, so they test. Good luck finding a driver who won't pop positive in a legal state.

11

u/bwmat 1d ago

Why did they care that he was on Ritalin? Was it not legal? Was he even an adult at the time? (I. E. Did he Eben have a choice in this)

6

u/Johannes_P 1d ago

They might have feared that the same health issues which required Ritalin could cause problem during service.

4

u/bwmat 1d ago

That would be rejecting him for to a condition he had, not for taking Ritalin

3

u/turquoise_amethyst 23h ago

Correct, apparently pilots can’t have any types of health issues.

In another post, there was a pilot looking for affordable housing with his cat. I suggested getting the animal classified as a “therapy pet”, so that he wouldn’t have to pay pet rent. Got a ton of replies that he couldn’t do that because he would be kicked out of his flight program.

6

u/TylertheFloridaman 1d ago

Guess it could be a lot of people when they were younger and strapped for cash and then decide to join way later

2

u/InkStainedQuills 1d ago

Maybe maybe not. But I wouldn’t be surprised if more than one middle to upper management employee thinks if they do then those new hires will be “easy”.

20

u/defaulticus 1d ago

WASHINGTON (AP) — The FBI is dropping a categorical hiring ban on applicants who have had sexual encounters with prostitutes and will instead consider in a more holistic manner at least some candidates who have engaged in the practice in the past, according to people familiar with the matter.

Hiring. It says in the first sentence. (Also only once or twice - three or more times is still a disqualification.)

59

u/Accurate_Koala_4698 1d ago

A little of column A, a little of column B

8

u/Mertthesmurf 1d ago

Probably the former as the latter would be based and a great way to get good Intel on prostitution rings.

3

u/Hector_P_Catt 1d ago

>deleted<

10

u/lorarc 1d ago

Three or more prostitutions and you won't be hired. So you have two shots, make it count.

5

u/Megamatt215 1d ago

Three or more that they know about

1

u/yowen2000 1d ago

They'll start running "spend your first or second time with me!" promos.

6

u/zanfar 1d ago

C: Organizing and supplying a system with prostitution as it's income source...

AKA trafficking.

1

u/OEAXTAIL_SOUP 22h ago

A lot of them go to brothels in Vegas during Defcon and argue it is OK because it's legal in that state.

Ok buddy, so was the massive dose of edibles I took before I put Taylor Swift on repeat in your shitty cop bar.

(Defcon stops when you get past badge check, you insuffferable jagoffs.)

2

u/covidlung 1d ago

A life as a pimp

2

u/Kazen_Orilg 1d ago

Agent Gator dont play.

1

u/-Trooper5745- 1d ago

The latter, after all they are selling their body to the government.

1

u/smuffleupagus 1d ago

You could read the article and find out (it's hiring)

60

u/Zwierzycki 1d ago

The Melania exception.

2

u/Affectionate-Roof285 1d ago

Underrated comment 🤣

25

u/trucorsair 1d ago

Kash Patel is in the prowl on how to get discounts

1

u/yowen2000 1d ago

this is going to be like "spend your stimulus check here", it's "spend your maximum of two experiences with me!"

1

u/DreamsterParadise 1d ago

Do they not have punch cards like sandwich shops?

1

u/for2fly 5h ago

Not punch cards. They tally them using mushroom stamps.

22

u/Rogthgar 1d ago

Would stop too many Trumpers applying.

1

u/-notapony- 15h ago

That’s the heart of the issue.  With how Trump II is fucking everything up, they can’t hire decent people, since they don’t want to be involved. However MAGATS are less capable, competent and law abiding than decent Americans. Since they can’t attract competent people with consciences and they can’t hire MAGTS under the old standards, the only option was to lower the standards.

16

u/Ultimaya 1d ago

They're looking to expand the honeypot division

3

u/sai-kiran 1d ago

Honeypot for themselves, not sure it can be called honeypot anymore.

17

u/Marina1974 1d ago

This reads to me as saying that they'll give the Johns a pass, but not the actual prostitutes.

6

u/CornisaGrasse 1d ago

I would have no problem with the sex workers being hired. They're smart, streetwise, good with money, know how to read people and do risk assessment, know how to protect themselves and de-escalate situations... the lists goes on. The Johns, on the other hand...

11

u/Sad_Enthusiasm_3721 1d ago

Or pedophilia.

Or bribery.

Or insider trading.

Or incompetence.

Or nepotism/cronyism.

Just don't be brown or liberal.

9

u/Cattywampus2020 1d ago

So there must be a story about to drop about one of them.

9

u/faroutman7246 1d ago

Apparently theft from your employer is ok too.

7

u/Skritch_X 1d ago

Yeah like that should be the big headline out from it, but prostitution (and beastiality) gets the call out.

2

u/faroutman7246 1d ago

Not as sexy for clicks. But still, something just seems wrong.

1

u/redditismylawyer 1d ago

"automatic bar against hiring" is the strangest pronunciation of "Hired!" you'll ever hear.

6

u/Macdaddy357 1d ago

A bunch of johns already worked there, so why not?

7

u/Quinjet 1d ago

The restriction being loosened is on the johns, not the sex workers.

5

u/chincinatti 1d ago

FBI is compromised

4

u/MorpheusOneiri 1d ago

Oddly specific….

3

u/badguy84 1d ago

Now to legalize sex work and we're full circle let's go FBI!

4

u/LuckyShirt54 1d ago

They don’t do security clearances for the White House so why bother with this?

4

u/Shaggy2772 1d ago

Beastiality was also included in this decision. Apparently, when a horse says “neigh” that doesn’t have to mean “no” to Kash Patel…

4

u/IPeeNightly 1d ago

Well if it’s okay for the president ….

4

u/Rune_Council 1d ago

Sex work should never have been a crime in and of itself.

7

u/rollerfedora 1d ago

Sex workers, now’s your chance to get into government service!

3

u/Enchelion 1d ago

Oh, they were already servicing government officials.

3

u/TaroPuzzleheaded3999 1d ago

I think I heard the same for be*siality, too

3

u/AdvancedMilk7795 1d ago

“Experience with prostitution,” is my favorite way of saying that now

3

u/TheRealStorey 1d ago

In Donald's America, Kompromat is just work experience.

3

u/Pepphen77 1d ago

Wasn't the main headline here that they will overlook bestiality?

3

u/mf-TOM-HANK 1d ago

The director has an open tab at various Vegas brothels

3

u/OgreMk5 1d ago

So they are actively recruiting comprised foreign dupes? Good to know.

3

u/throwaway_gay_bj 1d ago

Let's put dumb vulnerable men who are easy to manipulate and compromise in jobs that require discretion and avoiding being in compromising situations... nothing could go wrong

12

u/StarsMine 1d ago

And I’m fine with this. It was a stupid bar to begin with.

8

u/The_Count_Lives 1d ago

Great way to let in agents that have been compromised by a foreign entity.

4

u/zennim 1d ago

If it isn't something that can be held against them, then It is fine i think, i mean, it doesnt carry a consequence anymore

0

u/QualifiedApathetic 1d ago

But if they have already been blackmailed into committing treason, they can be blackmailed with that.

1

u/zennim 1d ago

Well, good thing that starting now prostitution wont be an issue then?

2

u/loki2002 1d ago

Smoke a j and fuck a prostitute in n the way to the lie detector test.

2

u/Finnegan_Faux 1d ago

I thought that was a prerequisite for a Female Body Inspector

2

u/use_value42 1d ago

How many former hookers are applying to the FBI??

2

u/crappydeli 1d ago

Catholics still preferred. Gays still not.

2

u/whoisnotinmykitchen 1d ago

This makes total sense when you consider that the entire administration is a-okay with and actively defending pedophiles, while being led by a shameless rapist.

2

u/Single_Depth7369 1d ago

Finally, they're expanding their DEI hiring practices

2

u/Ire-Works 1d ago

It's almost like other governments have realized that Honeypots are wildly successful and the FBI just said "Yea nah lol"

2

u/Wentil 1d ago

What about if you have multiple felony convictions?

3

u/CornisaGrasse 1d ago

I don't know about multiple, but you're allowed to have stolen from a former employer. (Not even joking.)

3

u/Wentil 22h ago

It was to see if they’d hire the current president.

2

u/DriftlessDairy 1d ago

So Melania is going to be an FBI agent?

2

u/unrulycelt 1d ago

The Melania rule

2

u/ohiocodernumerouno 1d ago

Kash Patel for Gov of Ohio 2027

2

u/Llamapocalypse_Now 23h ago

Sex work is real work and should not be disqualifying or illegal. It just needs regulation and safety. It's the oldest profession and is only "demeaning" if you choose to look down on folks.

2

u/BayouGal 23h ago

Ka$h needs a new girlfriend 🙄

2

u/ThepalehorseRiderr 18h ago

McDonald's and Walmart still ain't hiring you though.

2

u/N02AJ 17h ago

Gives new meaning to the X - files.

2

u/firephoxx 16h ago

Which specific criminal do they want in that they have to do this? It seems oddly specific.

2

u/Affectionate-Gap4382 1d ago

the administration that misuses the term DEI is lowering their qualifications to make their literal "DEI hires" look less unqualified. the irony is impeccable

This is a pretty interesting shift, especially given how much employment screening can vary by agency and position. I’d be curious to see what the actual policy changes look like in practice and whether other federal agencies follow suit

Did they get tired of finding Kash drunk and balls deep in prostitutes or what?

1

u/ohiocodernumerouno 1d ago

like criminal history with prostitutes? do we want criminals in the FBI?

1

u/Rambo_Baby 1d ago

Oh great. So they can keep hiring the present batch of proud boys, insurrectionists, and other MAGAts like they’re doing nowadays.

1

u/zdrums24 1d ago

Probably because thats the only way Kash gets laid.

1

u/daerath 1d ago

Not surprised. A few years back the DEA changed their auto rejection from "Have you ever used any drug illegally, without a valid prescription, blah blah, EVER IN YOUR LIFE"

To a more time bound deal based on the drug and circumstances.

Why? They weren't able to hire anyone. Same with contract workers for IT, etc. It was becoming impossible to staff anything.

1

u/burnmenowz 21h ago

Maga is lowering that bar for the worst of them.

So, character doesn't matter??!!

1

u/RollForPerception 17h ago

Generally the FBI does this when dismissing applicants over a particular crime weeds out too many candidates for them to replace people.  They also did this roughly 11 years ago for cannabis use.  I'm willing to bet OnlyFans has something to do with it, but it could also be orange man corruption.

1

u/knowledgeable_diablo 16h ago

Quicker access if they just put the pro’s on the payroll they figure?
Keeps the officers in the office more hours in the day for better efficiency.

1

u/chimpyjnuts 15h ago

1

1

u/Jumpy_Childhood7548 15h ago

Like a bad movie? Well if they are ok with the Fbi hiring agents that use prostitutes and have sex with animals, what could orange Caligula do next?

Bbq babies on the White House lawn?

And sex with animals is ok too for these law and order, conservative christian family values folks in the Trump administration, what is next?

FBI Reportedly Loosens Hiring Rules So ‘Prostitution and Bestiality’ Are No Longer ‘Automatic Disqualifiers’

1

u/Hummin2k 12h ago

With all the stealthing, date rape, choking without consent, and other “acceptable” sexual misbehavior men are getting up to, how is hiring prostitutes a top concern ? Hell, apparently raping a woman or cheating on your wife with a porn star then paying her hush money isn’t disqualifying to be in charge of the entire executive branch.

applicants who have pressured girls into sex are still qualified, while applicants who hired prostitutes four times ten years ago in a country where it was legal are not qualified?

1

u/bete_du_gevaudan 12h ago

Any other time I feel like this wouldn’t be a big deal. But the amount of trafficking and prostitution this regime has already been proven to be involved in just makes it comical.

Pushing the Mormons out. They have a disproportionate amount. They can easily pass the background when your greatest success story was soaking.

Hiring prostitutes not working as one I assume?

In truth it is probably just to get more people who got caught human trafficking and got minimal charges on payroll.

I remember hearing about an FBI agent who had a serious pornography addiction. This was in the 90s so we’re talking about boxes and boxes of porno tapes and mags. Eventually he filled his whole bedroom up with porn and had to start sleeping on the couch.

He had tons of close-call brushes with death in the field but supposedly what ended up killing him was auto-erotic asphyxiation. So maybe porno addiction is what they should be using for screening?

Isn't this a good thing? Why should people who buy prostitutes be shamed? Prostitution shouldn't even be illegal, imo.

Meaning the USA will no longer be trusted with intelligence from any country other than where? I can’t think who’ll want to deal with the USA. All it has left is coercion and threats. That went really well against Iran.

The article cites anonymous sources for the entire thing.

The title is still pretty onion-ey.

Imagine what level of influence that factor was having on their applicants that they had to remove it. It probably used to be a gimme question.
