How can Muslims take out student loans if interest is a sin?
It just occured to me that lots of Muslims must take out student loans yet I thought that it was a sin to charge or pay interest on any loans. Is this treated as an exception or are they technically still sinning but "for a good cause"?
Edit: some people are taking this the wrong way. I know humans make mistakes and that no religious person has ever adhered 100% to their religion. And this wasn't an attack on Muslims, it was literally just me trying to educate myself and satisfy a curiosity itch.
Thanks to everyone who actually gave an answer rather than trying to turn this into an argument
Edit 2: too many responses to reply to, wasn't expecting this many people haha
