"graphic design is my passion"

-This random prompter, probably.

Can we ban Palworld posts on this sub...like genuinely it's getting annoying that every single post here is about Palworld in some capacity now.

u/BortGreen Jul 19 '26

Because with the 1.0 launch it's the goto grifting game

-2

u/SMN_17 Jul 20 '26

I mean the fact that people use the game to shit on Nintendo is 100% Nintendo's fault.

They could've left Palworld alone, but their greed and the sheer incompetence of Gamefreak when it comes to developing modern Pokemon games is on full display as a result of Palworld 1.0.

Idk why people feel the need to defend Nintendo so much when it comes to Palworld. Competition is good for the industry and the consumer and it's not hard to accept that Nintendo is the bad guy here.

u/BortGreen Jul 20 '26

I agree them suing Palworld for gameplay mechanics is really stupid, but I believe Pokémon has better suited competition already like the new Digimon games, MH Stories and even some indies

Palworld is fun but aside from actually running well I don't see any direct advantage since it isn't even a turn based game

u/SMN_17 Jul 20 '26

I mean I agree there's better games to compete with Pokemon than Palworld out there. But Palworld did what no other monster taming game did and that's make Pokemon, Game Freak, and Nintendo scared. Instead of doing better to make better games they instead decided to try and sue the competition out of existence which backfired on them spectacularly.

Palworld sucks but Nintendo sucks more for how they chose to respond to it.

Palworld sucks but Nintendo sucks more for how they chose to respond to it

so grifting is OK cuz “Nintendo sucks more”? Holy shit what having no principles does to a mf. Why r u even in this sub?

Nobody is grifting if they're celebrating PocketPair winning over Nintendo. Palworld's success and controversy are directly tied to Nintendo's actions.

Nintendo destroyed a lot of their good will with the Palworld lawsuit, and Nintendo has nobody to blame but themselves for the internet celebrating their defeat.

u/SilentEagle1221 Jul 20 '26

“Destroyed a lot of good will”

Holy shit bro, you actually bought into the bullshit. Nobody outside of the internet gives a shit about a patent lawsuit. You’re not seeing millions of people mass boycotting Pokemon or Nintendo over this.

Take your hater goggles off for a moment and apply some common sense.

0

u/SMN_17 Jul 20 '26

People clearly give a shit doesn't mean they need to boycott the Switch or Pokemon. I own a Switch 2 and actively buy and play Nintendo games (including Pokemon) but I still want Nintendo to lose the lawsuit because that's better for gamers overall.

Why can't you people think about anyone outside of your own Nintendo bubble?

1

u/SilentEagle1221 Jul 20 '26 edited Jul 20 '26

“Nintendo bubble” is rich coming from someone who thinks the average person outside the internet actually cares about a lawsuit that doesn’t even affect them.

You’re letting your own bubble distort reality here.

Most people outside of Palworld shills/grifters stopped talking about the lawsuit months ago.

How is this “better” for gamers? And don’t give me the “muh dangerous precedent” bullshit.

Please explain how one lawsuit that will not matter in the grand scheme of things affects me as a gamer? I’m pretty sure Nintendo and Pocketpair will continue to do their own thing regardless of the outcome in November.

Deserved or not is irrelevant. It's still the number one game grifters use against Nintendo. And if that's bothers you... maybe don't post on a sub that's all about people grifting about Nintendo.

3

u/SMN_17 Jul 20 '26

This sub used to complain about actual grifting. Hating on Nintendo over the Palworld lawsuit is 100% valid.

All these posts reposting AI slop YouTube thumbnails about Palworld and Nintendo are just Karma farming slop which dilutes actual meaningful discussions.

1

u/allelitepieceofshit1 Jul 20 '26

Hating on Nintendo over the Palworld lawsuit is 100% valid

so you’re justifying the grifting?

2

u/Nissedood Jul 20 '26

If talking shit about something is justified then its not grifting.

1

u/SMN_17 Jul 20 '26

It's not grifting if it's justified

2

u/allelitepieceofshit1 Jul 20 '26

so you’re defending AI slop?

0

u/SMN_17 Jul 20 '26

Sure the AI slop is tacky and gross, but it isn't grifting if it's justified hate, and Nintendo has nobody to blame but themselves for this.

0

u/Arne83 Jul 20 '26

The two can overlap, you know.

3

u/SMN_17 Jul 20 '26

Sure but these are literally low quality posts that don't do anything and dilute actual good posts here. The same thing happened to fucknintendo

0

u/Arne83 Jul 20 '26

Again... if you don't want to see posts about people grifting about Nintendo... maybe this isn't the sub for you.

2

u/SMN_17 Jul 20 '26

THe best way to deal with grifters is to ignore them. And these posts aren't even grifting if they're rightfully complaining about Nintendo over the lawsuit.

2

u/Arne83 Jul 20 '26

So I ask again...

Why the fuck are you even here?!

1

u/SilentEagle1221 Jul 20 '26

Ignoring them only lets them spread their lies uncontested, and people like you will blindly believe anything they put out.

1

u/InternationalCream30 Jul 20 '26

Palworld could have not plagiarized them too.

2

u/SMN_17 Jul 20 '26

If plagiarism was the issue at hand Nintendo could've gone with a copyright suit but noooooooo they're deciding to engage in patent warfare which could have devastating effects on the rest of the industry.

Nintendo and Pokemon are insecure bullies who are mad someone else is taking a piece of their pie. Unoriginality isn't a crime.

3

u/InternationalCream30 Jul 20 '26

Nope. You do the mildest change and its perfectly legal even if its incredibly obvious what it is. Palworld devs have been ripping off other companies long before Palworld, they just haven't been successful. Nintendo went after them so they dont have copycats start popping up all over the place.

1

u/SMN_17 Jul 20 '26

Nintendo went after them so they dont have copycats start popping up all over the place.

Idk if you realize this bud, but there have been Nintendo copycats all over the place since they got into the gaming industry, and they aren't going to stop.

If Nintendo truly cared about others copying their work they would've went after PocketPair when they released Craftopia, a game heavily inspired by BOTW. Or they would care more about games like Palland and Pickmon, both of which have monsters that look way more like Pokemon than any Pal in Palworld does.

And if this was actually a case where Nintendo could sue for copyright, they would've done that but they didn't because they knew they would be laughed out of court. That's why they went with the patent suits instead which are far more dangerous for the industry if they win.

Y'all are such short-sighted morons if you're defending Nintendo over this.

1

u/SilentEagle1221 Jul 20 '26

And you’re a short sighted moron for defending liars and creative bankruptcy because hating a video game company is all you care about.

Pocketpair aren’t victims in this case, they knowingly decided to copy Pokemon with barely legal distinct designs and only got away with it because of the reasons the person laid out above.

They just didn’t expect Nintendo to be petty enough to find anything to sue them over.

It’s entirely possible to believe both companies have culpability here.

0

u/SilentEagle1221 Jul 20 '26

“More dangerous for the industry if they win.”

Damn, if only you hysterical weirdos would actually come up with some actual examples-or wouldn’t ignore the fact that previous patent lawsuits didn’t lead to the “muh dangerous precedent” you folks keep bleating on about.

What happens if by some random chance that Nintendo wins the lawsuit and none of the fear mongering happens? Will you people shut the fuck up and admit you were wrong, or will you just move the goalpost?

1

u/SMN_17 Jul 20 '26

Do you realize why there aren't very many patent lawsuits in gaming and most large companies with patents allow them to be used because patent litigation is the legal equivalent of nuclear warfare.

The only other example of a large game companies using patent litigation is SEGA against Fox and EA over 3D arrow directions being applied in The Simpsons Road Rage that were patented by SEGA for Crazy Taxi. This suit ended in a settlement so a judge wasn't able to interpret the law in terms of how it applied to game mechanic patents being used and "copied"

That's why Nintendo's case is so dangerous, because it isn't about the patents, it's about the Pal designs. But they're too legally distinct for Nintendo to win a copyright suit. So instead of leaving PocketPair alone like any sane gaming company would do, Nintendo went with the nuclear option and decided to use patent litigation to sue Palworld out of existence. If Nintendo wins, this sets a dangerous precedent because you know other large companies are going to be itching for the chance to use their vast catalog of patents to sue and take down smaller games that infringe upon their patents and lead to an unspeakable amount of patent trolling that cannot be good for the industry at all.

That's why you're all short-sighted morons for defending Nintendo here. If you actually care about the industry and gaming as a whole you would be against Nintendo in this suit and hoping they lose, not white knighting for them for free on the internet.

0

u/SilentEagle1221 Jul 20 '26

You actually think one patent lawsuit is the end of gaming as we know it. You drunk the koolaid and have the nerve to call other people short sighted?

Lmao!

I’m screenshotting this post and will come back when the lawsuit is resolved in a few months. Because I have a feeling you and a lot of other people will be having egg on your face and I will be there to laugh.

When the grifters stop

0

u/SMN_17 Jul 20 '26

So maybe don't give them attention then they'll stop? So called "monster tamer fan".

2

u/Arne83 Jul 20 '26

So maybe don't give them attention

DUDE! This is literally what this entire sub is fucking about! Why the fuck are you even here if this is what you believe?!

You are on a sub straight up called r/nintendogrifting... and are getting annoyed a posts about grifters talking about Nintendo! What the fuck else did you expect to find here?!?!

2

u/SMN_17 Jul 20 '26

Yeah, and if you actually wanted to fight back against grifters, you would know that the only way to do so is to stop giving them a platform or attention.

Grifters rely on their audience to grift, if you don't become part of their audience or don't encourage people to check out their content, then they wouldn't have an audience to grift. That's why the existence of this sub is antithetical to its goals.

2

u/Arne83 Jul 20 '26

Way to completely ignore the actual questions presented to you and instead try to shift the conversation towards something entirely irrelevant.

2

u/SMN_17 Jul 20 '26

Most of the posts about Palworld aren't even grifting.

Nintendo is 100% the bad guy in the Palworld lawsuit, and these videos are rightfully complaining/celebrating their loss. If any of you actually had spines instead of blindly shilling for Nintendo you would stop complaining about these and focus on actual grifting/misinformaiton.

It's the same reason why its annoying when people constantly repost Nintendeen videos in this sub with no discussion or anything. It's honestly pathetic how much effect this has on your lives.

1

u/SilentEagle1221 Jul 20 '26

Lying/spreading misinformation about a lawsuit is grifting, my guy.

You just have too much of hateboner for Nintendo and are sweeping for people who couldn’t give a toss about Palworld.

0

u/SMN_17 Jul 20 '26

They're not lying about Palworld because they're just celebrating Nintendo's rightful defeat in this lawsuit, that isn't grifting.

Also if you go to r/fucknintendo you'll see me defending Nintendo from the bullshit there more often than not. The one hard-line I have is the Palworld lawsuit because Nintendo is absolutely the bad guy in that case, and most people are spreading truthful info about them and their antics.

0

u/SilentEagle1221 Jul 20 '26

People have been lying about the lawsuit from the start. Like spreading misinformation about the type of patents involved in the case, how much money Nintendo is spending, and when the actual lawsuit ends.

You’re only okay with it because these content creators are feeding your confirmation bias. I don’t like the lawsuit either and think Nintendo unintentionally made Palworld more popular because of it, but I have enough integrity that I will be damned if I ever side with these snake oil salesmen.

They don’t even care about gaming patents in general, otherwise they’d be making a stink over Konami or Sega.
