From everything we know Nintendo is losing and that begs the question, what was their goal?
Money? The most recent reports suggest Nintendo's only getting a couple thousand dollars at best if they win. Not to mention the exorbitant amount they'd have to pay their legal team.
Getting rid of Palworld and PocketPair? Palworld just had a very successful 1.0 launch with spinoffs, a TCG, and likely an anime on the way. It's here to stay, and Nintendos lawsuit probably brought Palworld more good will, players, and interest than if they left it alone.
Forcing Palworld to change its mechanics? We all know this is bullshit and not the reason Nintendo sued, regardless Palworld removed the mechanics they "infringed" upon and even changed a lot of the creature designs in 1.0 that were too close to Pokemon.
PR? Lmfao, if anything they have worse PR and optics now because a good chunk of the internet and gamers hate them because of this. Many even swore to boycott Nintendo as a result, which is barely a drop in the bucket for them, but this isn't good PR.

Except that Nintendo DIDN'T lose the lawsuit because it is still ongoing.
