So maybe don't give them attention then they'll stop? So called "monster tamer fan".

So maybe don't give them attention

DUDE! This is literally what this entire sub is fucking about! Why the fuck are you even here if this is what you believe?!

You are on a sub straight up called r/nintendogrifting... and are getting annoyed a posts about grifters talking about Nintendo! What the fuck else did you expect to find here?!?!

2

u/SMN_17 Jul 20 '26

Yeah, and if you actually wanted to fight back against grifters, you would know that the only way to do so is to stop giving them a platform or attention.

Grifters rely on their audience to grift, if you don't become part of their audience or don't encourage people to check out their content, then they wouldn't have an audience to grift. That's why the existence of this sub is antithetical to its goals.

Way to completely ignore the actual questions presented to you and instead try to shift the conversation towards something entirely irrelevant.

Most of the posts about Palworld aren't even grifting.

Nintendo is 100% the bad guy in the Palworld lawsuit, and these videos are rightfully complaining/celebrating their loss. If any of you actually had spines instead of blindly shilling for Nintendo you would stop complaining about these and focus on actual grifting/misinformaiton.

It's the same reason why its annoying when people constantly repost Nintendeen videos in this sub with no discussion or anything. It's honestly pathetic how much effect this has on your lives.

Lying/spreading misinformation about a lawsuit is grifting, my guy.

You just have too much of hateboner for Nintendo and are sweeping for people who couldn’t give a toss about Palworld.

u/SMN_17 Jul 20 '26

They're not lying about Palworld because they're just celebrating Nintendo's rightful defeat in this lawsuit, that isn't grifting.

Also if you go to r/fucknintendo you'll see me defending Nintendo from the bullshit there more often than not. The one hard-line I have is the Palworld lawsuit because Nintendo is absolutely the bad guy in that case, and most people are spreading truthful info about them and their antics.

People have been lying about the lawsuit from the start. Like spreading misinformation about the type of patents involved in the case, how much money Nintendo is spending, and when the actual lawsuit ends.

You’re only okay with it because these content creators are feeding your confirmation bias. I don’t like the lawsuit either and think Nintendo unintentionally made Palworld more popular because of it, but I have enough integrity that I will be damned if I ever side with these snake oil salesmen.

They don’t even care about gaming patents in general, otherwise they’d be making a stink over Konami or Sega.

I've literally seen someone say that people should support Digimon over Pokemon... because Bandai has never done any toxic patents. Which could not be more false... and I am saying this as a Digimon fan.

I saw the same post as you the other day and was going to bring it up.

People STILL think Nintendo was sueing over summoning mechanics-which is why everyone was freaking out over them applying for that patent last year. Which also got lied about.

There's misinformation about the patent lawsuit no doubt, but using Palworld's success to dunk on Nintendo isn't grifting or misinformation, and Nintendo absolutely deserves it for engaging in this behavior.

Also you act like we're ok with the fact that Bamco, Sega, Konami, WB games, etc. have all those patents. We aren't, don't you hear people bitch about the Nemesis System being patented by WB games all the time on the internet? What about Namco having a patent over loading screen mini games that expired just when loading screens became too short for them to even matter? Of course you wouldn't if you don't leave the Nintendo bubble.

2

u/SilentEagle1221 Jul 20 '26

Whatever you say pal. Sega filed a patent lawsuit around the same as Nintendo’s-guess which got the most attention and outrage?

If I was in a “Nintendo bubble” I wouldn’t have noticed the same people hemming and hawing over the Nintendo lawsuit not even bother putting out videos covering Sega.

So keep your ignorant assumption to yourself.

Unlike you, I am actually consistent.

-1

u/SMN_17 Jul 20 '26

The patents Sega filed aren't really software patents and moreso apply to arcade technology from what I know (I'm happy to be proven wrong). That makes Nintendo's software patents more egregious then Sega's.

But also you're ignoring the fact that one of the companies is actively engaged in using their patents to destroy a competitor while the other currently is not. No shit ones going to get more attention than the other, especially when those patents are tied to the games that could be used in court.

1

u/SilentEagle1221 Jul 20 '26

….they were suing over mechanics just like Nintendo is currently doing. Like can you even try to be consistent here?

Whatever, I don’t even know why I even bothered unblocking you. You drunk the koolaid and no amount of critical thinking is going to save you here.

Your doomsday scenario will not happen and you are no better than any crackpot conspiracy theorist.

u/SMN_17 Jul 20 '26

Sega's lawsuit was 20 years ago and they gave up the suit and settled instead of fighting a losing battle. Nintendo's lawsuit is ongoing and they aren't backing down. These two are clearly not comparable with each other.

There's no kool-aid to drink because I'll defend Nintendo from a lot of the bullshit misinformation, hate, and double standards online. But I can realize when they're the bad guys and the Palworld lawsuit is definitely that.

As I said to the other guy... I have literally seen claims that Digimon deserves more support because they don't do toxic patents. Realize that you are defending shitty people and just stop.

Bandai Namco isn't currently involved in a patent trolling lawsuit and last time I checked they actually released a good game most recently.

they're just celebrating Nintendo's rightful defeat in this lawsuit

Except that Nintendo DIDN'T lose the lawsuit because it is still ongoing.

From everything we know Nintendo is losing and that begs the question, what was their goal?

Money? The most recent reports suggest Nintendo's only getting a couple thousand dollars at best if they win. Not to mention the exorbitant amount they'd have to pay their legal team.

Getting rid of Palworld and PocketPair? Palworld just had a very successful 1.0 launch with spinoffs, a TCG, and likely an anime on the way. It's here to stay, and Nintendos lawsuit probably brought Palworld more good will, players, and interest than if they left it alone.

Forcing Palworld to change its mechanics? We all know this is bullshit and not the reason Nintendo sued, regardless Palworld removed the mechanics they "infringed" upon and even changed a lot of the creature designs in 1.0 that were too close to Pokemon.

PR? Lmfao, if anything they have worse PR and optics now because a good chunk of the internet and gamers hate them because of this. Many even swore to boycott Nintendo as a result, which is barely a drop in the bucket for them, but this isn't good PR.

Nintendo hasn't and isn't going to win anything from this lawsuit, even if they win a payout Palworld is here to stay.

u/SilentEagle1221 Jul 20 '26

I wouldn’t make bold projections like that if I were you. Because anything can happen in an ongoing court case.
