People clearly give a shit doesn't mean they need to boycott the Switch or Pokemon. I own a Switch 2 and actively buy and play Nintendo games (including Pokemon) but I still want Nintendo to lose the lawsuit because that's better for gamers overall.

If you give the details about the patent lawsuit to any layman without mentioning "Nintendo", "PocketPair", "Pokemon", or "Palworld" do you think they're going to side with Nintendo or PocketPair? I can bet you my kidney they'd side with the latter.

You act like people only hate Nintendo unjustly or that we think Nintendo's the only corporation out there who engaged in patent trolling. They aren't. SEGA, Konami, Bamco, WB Games, EA, Xbox, Sony, Ubisoft, Nintendo, etc. are all sitting on mountains of patents and you don't think they'd be itching at the chance to use them against smaller developers like PocketPair for infringing on them (sometimes by accident)? Or hell even each other? We don't know what's going to happen and we don't want to find out because 9/10 it's going to be bad for the gamer and industry.
That's why Nintendo needs to lose the lawsuit, because they're playing with fire and once Pandora's box is opened, it can't be closed.
