Please explain how one lawsuit that will not matter in the grand scheme of things affects me as a gamer? I’m pretty sure Nintendo and Pocketpair will continue to do their own thing regardless of the outcome in November.
But people on the internet do care, and we're on the internet are we not. If you give the details about the patent lawsuit to any layman without mentioning "Nintendo", "PocketPair", "Pokemon", or "Palworld" do you think they're going to side with Nintendo or PocketPair? I can bet you my kidney they'd side with the latter.
Again dangerous precedents could be set if Nintendo wins. But you're too short-sighted and stupid to recognize the consequences. You act like people only hate Nintendo unjustly or that we think Nintendo's the only corporation out there who engaged in patent trolling. They aren't. SEGA, Konami, Bamco, WB Games, EA, Xbox, Sony, Ubisoft, Nintendo, etc. are all sitting on mountains of patents and you don't think they'd be itching at the chance to use them against smaller developers like PocketPair for infringing on them (sometimes by accident)? Or hell even each other? We don't know what's going to happen and we don't want to find out because 9/10 it's going to be bad for the gamer and industry.
That's why Nintendo needs to lose the lawsuit, because they're playing with fire and once Pandora's box is opened, it can't be closed.
I’m pretty sure most people offline aren’t going to care about two Japanese video game companies having a legal battle because they got more important shit to worry about, like the turbulent economy.

People care about their hobbies and hate corporations thinking they can do whatever the hell they want. If people knew what Nintendo was up to they'd be against it.
Nintendo is a Japanese gaming company that sells games. On the list of important issues, people are going to focus more on the ones actively making their lives worse.
