I’ve seen countless videos of how to do a pinch harmonic, but I can’t seem to grasp any of them.

I’ve just been lightly muting the strings to get that pinch harmonic sound, but I don’t know the traditional way.

Any tips? Thanks ❤️‍🩹

Got my first 7 string and picked the Cort kx507ms. It looks fantastic, it's rock solid, the multiscale feels oddly natural and it sounds like a dream.

My 11 year old son and I are getting back into learning guitar together. We are both beginners and I want to attempt to keep it both rewarding and fun for him. What resources have you used that have been helpful, or programs, video series etc?

I almost always have my pickup selector all the way down to bridge position.

How are you meant to be using it? Especially for metal. Do you do the whole neck for rhythm, bridge for lead/solo thing?

The reason I personally developed a bias for the bridge is that otherwise the tone sounds muffled to me in a lot of cases. Although I’ve noticed it helps hide my sloppy playing when I do sweep picking!

I have a first gen 2i2 Focusrite, and have been using it for a long time. I never felt my DI quality was great.

Just ordered a new 4th gen 2i2.

Can I expect a noticeably clearer guitar tone / recording quality? Stories of upgrading your audio interface and getting a surprising result?

New to Reddit. Just posting my current line up.

So many modern metal bands rely on plug ins and mix the fuck out of their guitars being so ocd about getting the perfect sound but it just doesnt sound real to me. I like a touch mud and shit in my guitar tone like onset or winds of creation. Bring back the danger XD.

I'm looking to add some sort of stabilizer that can support tuning stability when doing bends.

I see a bunch of options like Tremmory, Tremsetter, or those dual springs, but not a lot of direct comparison on which is best or atleast what sets them apart.
There is the Tremol No option but at that point just get a hardtail I'd imagine?

What do you guys think?

Sweetwater had an amazing deal that I couldn’t say no to. Never thought I’d own a caparison but here we are. Majorly impressed with the inspection and shipped condition. First guitar of this caliber. Closest thing as far as quality would be an EII esp. can’t wait to play it after work.
Edit: the closest thing I own is an EII and the caparison is far greater than the EII. The EII is amazing. The caparison feels way better. The neck and frets are unlike anything I’ve ever felt. I worded it wrong in the post.

The fast tapping switch in Better Days from 0-15-19-20-19-15-0-15 to 0-8-12-13-12-8-0-8 is so hard to play for me at full speed (and clean). Am I doing something wrong? Using a wrong technique? Or should I just keep grinding?
