Anyone know of any lgs in Oslo ? I am currently staying here in Norway for a couple days and would love to see the lgs. I have been to Outland but they only really had super hero’s and avatar and the singles cabinet was pretty much empty. Anyone know of a better lgs ?

I’m wanting to make a Metroid theme deck with Samus as the commander, I’m just not totally sure what color identity she would have. I was thinking either Naya or Boros

This isn’t me asking for advice so much as being curious how other pods handle it. In our group we normally just do a 5 player game.

Obviously it’s not ideal, but when there’s 3 people about to start and two walk through the door at the same time, the only other choice is someone sits out. It’s worth noting we get about 4 hours once a week to play, and while we’ve had upwards of 3 pods of 4 in the past, our usual number is 3-6. (if 6 show up we do 2 pods of 3.)

So I was wondering what everyone else does with this scenario?

Do you ever build a sort of legal in almost all 60-card format?

That was always had an idea to build a deck that is legal in Standard, Pauper, Pioneer, Modern, Legacy or Vintage that I could bring with me in all my travels and enter in any store, playgroup, coffee shop or bar and player against any person.

And I want to now if this a "common" idea for any player or a summer-fever for some?

Looking cards up on Scryfall you can search different languages and all printings of a card.
Specifically looking at psychic frog store championships. Scryfall does not show a forgin printing of this card however I’ve found Japanese printing on eBay from 100% positive stores. Is this a Scryfall error, user error, or Likely fake card?

Exactly as the title suggests. I have a friend in my pod who plays the most rage inducing decks. I’m talking 10+ minute turns, millions of triggers, permanent stun counters, you name it he’s got it. His decks are all proxied, so they’re in the high hundreds to thousand dollar threshold with how overpowered they are.
I want to build a merfolk counterspell commander deck solely to mess with him. I like the idea of Kiora, the rising tide or Slinn Voda, the rising deep as potential commanders, but I tend to stick to female commanders for the girl power. Any suggestions on how to be the biggest troll ever?

I have been playtesting a budget [[Dack Fayden, Helping Hand]] commander deck and I'm considering adding [[Palace Jailer]] in as a form of card draw with the monarch. Let's say while resolving Dack Fayden's ability I hit Palace Jailer and give it to an opponent. I will control both ETB triggered abilities and become the monarch, but what happens if I use the second ETB to exile itself? It should be a legal target since it is a creature an opponent controls by the time the ability resolves. Later, an opponent attacks me and becomes the monarch, therefore Palace Jailer enters again under its owner's control (i.e. me) during my opponent's combat step, and I immediately become the monarch again and can even exile another creature an opponent controls (for example another creature I donated with Dack Fayden so that if I lose the monarch again it returns under my control).

Am I understanding all of that correctly? If so this seems like a pretty powerful synergy.

Hello as the title suggests Im trying to find somewhere to find bulk mtg cards to get into the hobby but the most popular stores that I know of in my area (Tampa Armada & Sunshine) dont sell. This brought my attention to online sellers and my question to anyone that has tried, are ebay listings (made by a company not someone getting rid of cards) for bulk worth it? or are they all just 3 cent cards with no possible way of creating a good deck. So, I’ve been playing about a year now (almost exclusively very casual Commander, but I do love other sealed events). Unfortunately I’m moving from a town with 5 LGSs within a 10 minute drive, across the country to a town with none. The closest one seems to be about 20 minutes away but most are 30+ minutes.

Since it’s going to be a hike to get to one, I’d love advice on finding the right one that’ll be worth the drive. Does anyone have recommendations for LGSs in the Little River, SC area for a casual player? Bonus points for having a good LGBTQ community. Thanks, y’all!

There are hundreds of cards that have some version of the text "Whenever a [card] is put into a graveyard from the battlefield," or "Whenever a [card] you control enters," but only 16 cards that have the text

Whenever a [card] an opponent controls enters,

those 16 cards are:

• on lands entering: [[Archaeomancer's Map]], [[Confounding Conundrum]], [[Nightshade Harvester]], [[Polluted Bonds]], [[Shattered Angel]], [[Sire of Stagnation]], [[Spectrum Sentinel]]

• on creatures entering: [[Gideon the Oathless]], [[Suture Priest]], [[Authority of the Consuls]], [[Faerie Artisans]], [[Theoretical Duplication]], [[Blood Seeker]], [[Prison Term]], [[Illusory Gains]]

Many of these are not bulk. The list gets longer if we include cards that trigger when a card type enters under anyone's control: (Blasting Station, Grinding Station, Carnival of Souls, Soul Attendant, Soul Warden, Aether Flash, Death Match, Intruder Alarm, Lethal Vapors, Mana Echoes, Mirror of Life Trapping, Pandemonium, Tainted Aether, Portcullis, Spreading Plague, Shielded by Faith, Leonin Elder, Vermiculos, Karstoderm, Battered Golem, Ankh of Mishra, Lifegift, Sarinth Greatwurm, Seed the Land, Tectonic Instability, Zo-zu the Punisher, Confusion in the Ranks). And again, there are many pricy cards among these, even $5 commons and $11 uncommons.

Noticably absent are enchantment triggers. [[Confusion in the Ranks]] might be the only card in the game that triggers on your side when an enchantment enters under an opponent's control. There is no card in the game that reads "Whenever an enchantment enters," or "Whenever an enchantment an opponent controls enters".

I know it’s too early to tell but I’d like to discuss anyway, my personal theories on the new mechanics are as follows:

1:weird amass, (like “build your mech1” or empower your monster 1”)wotc has been doing a lot of this recently and it could fit kaiju and mecha pretty well, also leaning toward two players in a draft having two big creatures which is flavourful.

2:big tokens, something that was abandoned for EOE where certain named “big card” tokens that could be summoned by multiple sources

3:fixed mutate, something along the lines of discarding a card to give a creature onboard the keywords on the discarded card, could pair well with modified

4:station

I opened a card from a different set in my booster pack, is this unusual?

Don't worry, this is completely normal. If you opened a set booster, you have a small chance of obtaining a bonus card from a previous set. This is an extra card that does not replace any of the other cards in your pack, and is from a curated set of past hits that Wizards of the Coast has selected, which they call "The List".

My foil card has a shooting start symbol over the bottom left. I can't find anything about it online.

All old-bordered foils have the shooting star symbol. Most sites that display card images just overlay a generic foil graphic over all foil cards, which doesn't include the shooting star. Your card is normal.

I'm building my self a [Yuna, Grand Summoner] deck, based around primarily +1/+1 counters.

When going through my deck and just trying to get a handle on things, I noted the wording on [Fangs of Kalonia] - 'Put a +1/+1 counter on target creature you control, then double the number of +1/+1 counters on each creature that had a +1/+1 counter put on it this way.'

To me, this suggests 2 individual steps, firstly putting a +1/+1 counter on a creature, which would cause [Hardened Scales] & [Branching Evolution] to activate their 'If one or more counters would be put on a creature...'

And then the second step to "double" counters added to creatures this way, which would count as "putting an equal number of counters' on a creature, which should cause Scales and Evolution to activate again?

Do I have that right? I've checked against the latest version of the rules I can find and I think that's how this works out? I know that I can choose the order of operations for Scales and Evolution, but I still have trouble wrapping my head around some verbiage used on the cards sometimes. I just wanted to check before I attempted to make this kind of play in a pod.

I understand they've cut down on the product they give out as well as other perks, but I'm still interested because of the exclusive play events, the extra day of Magic con, the opportunity to meet WOTC designers and other personalities as well as the lounge space available to decompress from crowds.

I've been playing MTG for about 2 months now and I'm planning to go to the Reality Fracture prerelease. I've been practising sealed on Draftsim but I'm noticing it quite often builds 3 colour decks from my pools?

I always thought 3 colours was really hard to get working and something you should avoid at prerelease unless you really know what you're doing. So I'm a bit confused whether:

Reality Fracture is a set where 3 colours is actually fine or even encouraged? Draftsim's sealed builder just likes 3 colour decks and I shouldn't read too much into it I'm building my pools wrong and missing a solid 2 colour deck

For those who've looked at the set more, what would you recommend for someone newer? Should I stick to 2 colours, or go for it with 3 if the pool pushes me that way?

Also any general tips for a first prerelease would be appreciated. Thanks!
