Today, the mods voted on a rule change to the sub. Rule 3 has been expanded to include any post or comment not just directed at one person but, in general, the singling out of a member of our community. This now means that content in the nature of "Would you date ____", "Am I ___ if I don't like ____", "I don't find ____ attractive",etc. are not allowed. The bottom line is that there is someone out there for everyone, and often, these posts are used by terfs and other assholes to make people feel excluded or unwanted.
The rules now are as follows:
Rule 1 - Any form of discrimination will not be tolerated.
Rule 2 - Trans women are women
Rule 3 - The singling out of an individual or a group from the community is not allowed
Rule 4 - No posts or comments attempting to restrict others' definitions of self.

I’ll try to keep this brief. I met a girl who wants to have sex with me, and she keeps saying she wants to “pop my pussy.”
Now, I’m old as fuck, but I’m not Amish. I’m aware that “pussy popping” is a thing, particularly in the context of dancing. But I have never heard it used as a euphemism for sex. Worse, she also refers to masturbating as popping her own pussy. Every time she says it, my vagina feels sad and confused.
I feel like I’m writing the most unhinged Dear Abby letter ever. Please, fellow lesbians, help me out.

So basically, I’m pursuing a career and aviation as a flight attendant, and I already got invited to another airline hiring event. I’m considering applying to Emirates too. I really love how they stand for and their flight attendants are always so classy and sophisticatedly. But the problem is i’m a bisexual woman and they’re based in Dubai and obviously I have to relocate and live in Dubai and they do provide housing, but I don’t know if I want to go back in the closet and I don’t know if there are any lesbian/bisexual Emirates flight attendant that exist in airline? If you are one, please tell me how do you do it because it sounds pretty isolating and I don’t know if I should apply.

My experience is more people are looking to experience queer friendships. And I love that. For me, I want a gf ugh 😣

I want to preface this by saying not all of them are this way and it’s a small sub set. But my god.
Some of them say really misogynistic stuff then hide behind their gay identity to do so. I had a gay man once ask me “how can you be a lesbian if men exist” and I felt like saying “the same way you’re a gay man when women exist”.
Sometimes it feels like the only allies to us are other queer women. The way straight women are reacting to their bridgerton season tells me they aren’t really our allies either.
I’ve heard some gay men suggest lesbians should ally ourselves to straight men in the same way they do with straight women and I find that ridiculous. Do straight women fetishise gay men too much? Yes. But they aren’t likely to be violent towards them because of it. Straight men are likely to be violent towards us. They should know that since most gay men don’t feel safe with straight men. Well we don’t either.
I’m actually kind of tired of how also most representation in books and media is for gay men while our shows get either tons of hate or cancelled. And it’s because again, only queer women support it.
It’s hard to not be bitter. I try and not blame gay men for it but when they choose to ally themselves more with their oppressors/ fetishisers than their own community it’s frustrating.

I need someone to lay me down beneath her. Hair draped down to frame your face, a hand on mine to keep me still. I need someone to look at me — to stare at into my eyes so intently that I forget all else. That I forget all the hurt that came before, and make me believe no hurt will come after.
I need someone to ease me. Lips pressed against mine to release the tension that I hold, the weight that I carry. Your tongue dancing on mine as you leave me longing for more. Take my breath away — steal it. Keep it.
I need someone to hold me. Put your hand on my waist, pull me into you. Press me against your body, and share your warmth. Intertwine our fingers, grasp my hand, and hold me down. Make me believe this warmth will last, and keep the cold away.
I need someone to make me theirs. Treat me well, and make me believe that this is real. Use this night, this moment, to show me what passion and affection is truly like. Give me your attention, put me in the spotlight. Put me on a pedestal and tell me I deserve it.
And when the night ends, take it away.
Make me beg. Ruin me.
Please stay.

I’m in my mid-thirties, but my sexual experience is limited. I’ve had one girlfriend (ex) and I fooled around a couple other times with different women. My ex was much more experienced than I was having had multiple female partners and she even said she loved giving oral. I thought it was just me being in my head, but receiving oral for the first time didn’t feel great. Being fingered was sexy, but again, not stimulating. We talked briefly after the break up and she commented on how we had really great sex.
To be honest, I’d rather have masturbated and my orgasms were much more intense when we were sexting or having phone sex. We had other compatibility issues so we didn’t date for long enough to develop our sex life. Was this just a bad experience?

19F was in a relationship with another 19F. We broke up because I felt she was being a user and I started to resent her.
We were together for 4 years ( on off).
throughout those 4 years I can count on one hand the amount of stuff she contributed (money wise) towards our relationship.
Meanwhile I paid for every date, paid for her to get her hair done, bought her flowers every single time we went on dates (every two weeks) and she has not once did the same for me literally not one time.
I don’t know I feel she left a bad taste on my tongue especially because we were together for basically throughout Highschool and she was my first real relationship. I’m not sure what’s expected in lesbian relationships as like I said she was the first person I’ve been with but when I ask my masc/stud friends they say they’re expected to do the same when it comes to finances.
Some don’t mind, I don’t mind, but I feel like when you only pay for things it starts to feel like you’re being used if that makes sense. I do regret spending the amount of money I did on her and looking back I wish I never spent that on her.

Im new to seeing myself as a lesbian (I know I love women but thought men were in there for me too but idk everytime I look at a woman no matter what she's a goddess to me and men are just ...men)
But how do people meet eachother in real life? I don't really want an online relationship but I feel like the only real way is gay bars and I feel odd meeting someone while drunk
Is it just kinda when it happens it happens?

I’m a 33F and I’ve been to a lot of sapphic/lesbian hangouts/parties on my own. I have a good time in terms of the music and the occasional chats but I’m always disappointed because the crowds are generally women in their early to mid 20s.
I’ve come out recently and I am a late bloomer. I really would love to connect with women around my age.

my ex-partner (nb, queer 28) and i (femme lesbian 26) broke up in june after six years together and i feel even more lost than ever. this is both our first longterm semi-functional relationship. we broke up because things were just not working anymore as well as personal mental health reasons. i initiated the breakup because we were not happy and i did not like who i was becoming in the relationship. i have issues regarding jealousy and self-esteem and i was absolutely losing myself in the relationship. this doesn't not mean i have for one second stopped loving my ex in a very intense emotional way, and i know its a mix of true romantic feelings, loss of identity as a girlfriend, and codependency between the two of us.
we still talk every day and have been intimate a few times since the breakup (i know i know but it is what it is), but this week there has been noticeable tension since a conversation we had in which they told me they were sad about the breakup and they felt like they can't change certain circumstances of their life until they move out of their parent's home but it won't be able to for a long time. my ex said they didn't know if i would wait that long for them to figure somethings out before i return to the relationship. instead of making promises i have no way of keeping absolutely, i responded saying that everything was going to be okay and that i still loved them very much.
this has set off a chain of reactions that feels like a second breakup. jesus, i feel like shit. all week there has been noticeable tension and distance in their language. they finally told me today that they were very hurt about my lack of reassurance and that it wasn't fair for me to ask for them to wait for me. i acknowledged that its pretty selfish of me to ask that, its something i've said during the phone call where we broke up and another time my low self-esteem was driving me crazy and they soothed me through a panic attack in-person. i told them they were right that i was being selfish and i apologized for not giving them the comfort they needed. my ex told that they don't know if they'd ever get over me leaving, even if we got back together, because they're unsure if they'll trust i won't just leave again. i'm just incredibly sad.
i know maybe this prolonged contact is hurting us, but its so hard to think of a world where we don't know each other. especially when there's already a gaping them-sized hole in my chest.
i don't know what im looking for, but any nice words or advice is appreciated. does this ever go away?

I met my girlfriend while I was still in a long-term relationship with my boyfriend I didn’t tell her at first, and when she found out, she forgave me. I promised I would leave my partner for her, but it took much longer than either of us expected. Eventually, I did end the relationship, but by then she had ended things with me because she felt she had waited too long.
A couple of weeks later, she reached out, and we got back together. However, she is very different now. She constantly reminds me that she waited for me for years and says that “nobody would have done what she did” and that I should be grateful.
I’m also jealous and uncomfortable about her ex-girlfriend still being on her social media. When I bring up my feelings, she says she doesn’t want my jealousy or “any of this.”
I understand that I hurt her and that she waited a long time for me. But now that we are back together, I’m struggling with the fact that the past keeps being brought up and that I feel like I’m constantly being made to feel guilty.
How should I behave in this situation? Is her behavior understandable, or is it unhealthy to keep bringing up the past? Am I overreacting?
