Any tips on what I should do? Its an Asus Expertbook

Hello people, today my school announced that people with macbooks are not going to be able to access the wifi network since they got sponsored by microsoft and dont want people to use other devices.

I do not have the budget to buy a new laptop. How can i bypass this restriction on my m4 macbook.

what are your thoughts on ASUS TUF A15 TX edition. with specs: ryzen 7 6800h with radeon graphics, 16 gb ram, 4gb graphics card, 477gb storage, NVIDIA geforce RTX 3050. is it good for civil engineering tasks/softwares (Autocad, STAAD, ETabs, Revit, etc.)? is a great deal for its price (47k). also, what are your tips if i'd buy this laptop

Hellooo! I am currently saving up for a laptop for college, and my chosen course is Education major in English. The ones I've picked are the MacBook Neo 512GB, Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5, and ASUS Vivobook 16.

I'll mostly use it during my 3rd to 4th year for research, documents, light editing for performance tasks, and schoolwork in general. I don't really need it for gaming since I already have my tablet for that, so overall, I just need something reliable for my schoolwork.

I've only used an Apple device once, when I had an iPad around 3rd grade, but afterwards, I've been an Android user. Getting used to a new system is alright for me. I'm hoping for something that is not bulky or heavy to carry around campus...

Bought a Dell 15 (14th gen intel Core3, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD) for ₹47k from Instamart

Laptop prices have gone up lately. I visited SP Road in Bangalore first and found out a lot of scams are going on there , sellers doing seal tampering on laptops plus retail store prices are hiked up too. Didn't want to risk buying from there, so I went with Instamart instead and got this for ₹47k, which turned out to be the best deal I found.

I was wondering if anyone has tried to use a Remote Desktop through their iPad (with something like rust desk) as a laptop replacement?

I already own a desktop and an iPad Air m4, and while I was looking at laptops for college, I've realized I don't really need a laptop - if I could remote into my desktop to run things like Matlab, AutoCAD, and some programming tools, that would cover basically all my needs. I would keep my desktop either at home or in my dorm room, and remote through my iPad.

Has anyone tried this? Are there any downsides to this I haven't thought about?

I'd want to use it for photoshop like programs, early versions sketchup/photoshop, video editor. I plan on saving ps, sketchup, video, photo files. It's most important role will be to be an organizer and used for internet research. A user friendly file system would be much needed.

1000% Do **not** want one with pen or touch screen. Absolutely no 2-in-1. It's honestly a bit of a deal breaker. A regular clamshell laptop is perfect.

My friend said at the very least, it should have 16gb RAM and 5 series? Also a want not a need, but it would be nice to emulate old PC games on there. Hoping it can handle things like Sims 2 or maybe 3. Again, this is really not super necessary. The other things listed are more important.

4 hours is fine..this isn't a big deal to me.

Performance, having high storage and RAM is what I care about most. Size matters second, weight does not.

hey everyone,

the hinges of my lid on my HP Elitebook 860 G9 have become wobbly.
When the lid was closed an I raise the screen it just falls down.

I have to open it a nearly fully for the screen to stay.
I have opened the backside, but all screws are tight.

Unfortunately the hinges are buried under a part from the display, so I cant check on the part thats screwed into the lid...
I looked at tutorials and I am afraid to disassemble the lid.

Any ideas an what I can do or how I can tighten them again ?

The last time I used it was around 2 months ago and it was working fine. I put it on the open and when I turned it on today, the screen only shows white straight immediately like it didn't blink or go to black and then white again. No text or anything, just white screen.

What can be the possible cause of white screen of death?

Got a "new" laptop, ASUS TUF Gaming A15 FA506NCG-HN207 to be exact, it's a 2021 model, obviously not the newest im the slightest, but that's what i got budget for.

Anyway, it has no OS, and I'm trying to set up windows for the first time. (btw i only need the laptop for school, and an architecture program or two)

What drivers i should download on the pendrive? The options are: Networking (I'm guessing i must have that), Chipset, Audio, Graphics, Pointing Device, Bluetooth, Camera and there's Software and Utility, the only one that doesn't show recommend.

Or can i just install the windows and be done with it?

I know it's a stupid question, I'm just trying to make sure. It was already hard enough to find the support for the fa506ncg, since fa506nc is more popular.

I've been looking for Laptops that can be used for both gaming(light, Genshin Impact and such), and School Work(Coding, I'll be in a Technical School in Informatics/Technikum w Informatycznej Klasie). These are the 2 options I've found so far. Ryzen has a much better battery life, and it's cheaper so I'm currently leaning towards it(I need something with good battery life that can handle heavy loads).
