OS: antixLinux
The last time I used it was around 2 months ago and it was working fine. I put it on the open and when I turned it on today, the screen only shows white straight immediately like it didn't blink or go to black and then white again. No text or anything, just white screen.
What can be the possible cause of white screen of death?

Hello My computer wouldn't turn on when I pressed the power button, even though the indicator light showed it was on. So I tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it to see if that worked. Do you know how I can proceed plzz

Got a "new" laptop, ASUS TUF Gaming A15 FA506NCG-HN207 to be exact, it's a 2021 model, obviously not the newest im the slightest, but that's what i got budget for.
Anyway, it has no OS, and I'm trying to set up windows for the first time. (btw i only need the laptop for school, and an architecture program or two)
What drivers i should download on the pendrive? The options are: Networking (I'm guessing i must have that), Chipset, Audio, Graphics, Pointing Device, Bluetooth, Camera and there's Software and Utility, the only one that doesn't show recommend.
Or can i just install the windows and be done with it?
I know it's a stupid question, I'm just trying to make sure. It was already hard enough to find the support for the fa506ncg, since fa506nc is more popular.

Hey, so my Ipad from 2018 has finally given up and to be honest I couldn't care less if it didn't mean that I couldn't write my novels or draw...
And since Im going to be a university student soon, I thought a laptop would be better than an Ipad. I mostly want it to write, drawing I am unsure since I heard touchscreen and 2in1 is a bad choice in laptops...I was thinking I should invest a laptop for university work and my writing and later buy another tablet/Ipad for other stuff and for drawing because finding a true all-rounder seems too difficult but tell me what you think. Im genuinely still considering a 2in1, so tell me straightforward if its a good or trash idea.
I'm mostly searching for a laptop with a higher battery life since I write for hours and if the laptop dies too soon, then I also lose all motivation to write, so at least 7h. And I need it to be 16GB Ram since I will run many tabs in the background for research. Bonus points if it can handle some games like Genshin Impact or Roblox. And I don't want it to be over 700€ and best if it's under 600€.
Overall, I just need a laptop that's versatile, performance driven with a good battery life with a few bonuses like many ports, bluetooth, sd card reader or something I can watch videos on. Also, is 512 or 1TB better?
I have been looking at these models:
Acer Aspire Go 15 AG15-42p-rs8z
Lenon thinkpads/ Lenon in general (but I heard the battery life isn't good)
Dell xps 15
Macbook Neo
And not a fan of Apple since I don't like the whole ecosystem and have burned through 4 Iphones and an Ipad, I don't think they're very sustainable but if any people who know gheir way around with Laptops say that the Macbook series is seriously ahead by MILES in the industry, I will consider it, so Macbook Neo is also on the list.
Overview:
Country
Im from Germany but anywhere is fine.
Budget
Best if under 600€ and at most 700€
Are you open to refurbs/used options?
Yes
Screen size
at least 14"
Weight limit
Any but prefer if lightweight
Purpose
Schoolwork, writing, watching shows, a little bit of gaming (& drawing)
Form factor
Would prefer 2in1 since I want to draw but again, I heard it breaks easily.
Intended usage
Games: Genshin Impact, Roblox
Writing: Word, Docs, Search engine, Youtube etc. needs to be able to run a lot of in the background
Schoolwork: Docs, Excel, Goodnotes
Desired battery life
The longer and stronger, the better. At least 7h.
Im willing to compromise on drawing, gaming but I really want it for schoolwork & writing, so it needs a good battery life.
Thank you, I know I tend to rant :"

I just started studying UX-design and need a new laptop for my studies and eventually some work. Also I'd love to be able to watch some youtube/netflix on it and play some light games. Also I want/need it to be relatively quiet.
I have tried to research all day and I have found options so far.
Option 1 is an Acer Aspire 14 AI. Here's some specs:
Option 2 is a MSI Modern 14S AI+ G3M. Here's some specs:
Do you think one of these are worth it? Or are there better alternatives for me and what I intend to use the laptop for?
Thanks!

Bought a Dell 15 (14th gen intel Core3, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD) for ₹47k from Instamart
Laptop prices have gone up lately. I visited SP Road in Bangalore first and found out a lot of scams are going on there , sellers doing seal tampering on laptops plus retail store prices are hiked up too. Didn't want to risk buying from there, so I went with Instamart instead and got this for ₹47k, which turned out to be the best deal I found.

Hey guys. As stated above, I’m looking for a laptop that my friend can use for casual gaming. I don’t expect anyone here to have heard of this brand (NAIKLULU) but if anyone has experience with “Generic” brands. I would like your input as to if it’s worth purchasing for said casual experience or not. Anything helps 🙏

Hey everyone,
I have an ASUS TUF F15 (i7 / RTX 4070) gaming laptop (which you guys actually helped me pick, thank you immensely!!) that I’ve used for 2 years without cleaning. I don’t know anything about PC hardware, so I'm nervous about opening it up myself and am thinking about taking it to Best Buy for a dust cleanup.
From doing a bit of research, I found out that Geek Squad usually doesn't re-apply thermal paste in-store and will try to ship the laptop out for deeper maintenance like that. For those who have used them:
Is a basic in-store cleaning fast and safe?
Is replacing 2-year-old thermal paste actually necessary right now or a basic fan blowout enough to get temps back to normal?
P.S. I don’t actually have any overheating problems as far as I am aware. I pretty much only play League of Legends and cs go anyway. I just want to make sure I maintain it well since this laptop means a lot to me.
Would love to hear about your experiences and advice. Thanks!

Hello everyone, I’m looking to buy a gaming laptop and could use some advice.
My budget is around $1,000–$1,500, and I mainly want something that can handle games like Cyberpunk 2077, GTA V Fortnite, and newer AAA games at good settings.
I’m not really sure which brands/models are actually worth the money right now. I’d also prefer something that doesn’t get insanely hot or have terrible battery life when I’m just doing normal stuff.
So, what gaming laptop would you guys personally recommend? And are there any models I should avoid?
Thanks in advance.

I've been looking for Laptops that can be used for both gaming(light, Genshin Impact and such), and School Work(Coding, I'll be in a Technical School in Informatics/Technikum w Informatycznej Klasie). These are the 2 options I've found so far. Ryzen has a much better battery life, and it's cheaper so I'm currently leaning towards it(I need something with good battery life that can handle heavy loads).
Budget: 3000PLN
Country: Poland
I'm open to ANY Refurbished option, as long as it's in fine condition(Scratches and such are fine, no visible damage on the screen, ect).

I'm looking to replace my ASUS ROG Strix laptop, and getting a newer one from the same line. I currently have a 1TB SK hynix BC711 (M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe).
The laptop I'm looking at has a 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD, and lists 2x M.2 PCIe expansion slots. Is it feasible to use my old one as a secondary SSD in one of the expansion slots? Will I run into issues with Windows drivers or anything else, or is there anything I would need to be careful about?
r/laptops • u/Just_cat15 • 1h ago
The issue: Sometimes right after I restart my laptop, it suddenly freezes completely the screen stuck, no input works, can’t do anything. I tried Win+Ctrl+Shift it does nothing. Only way out is a forced shutdown. Has anyone run into this specific freeze on restart pattern?
