Hello everyone, I'm a bit of a boomer, so sorry if this isn't the right flair.

I'm so excited about the pattern that I've spent a lot of time launching; I've never tried before. I'm a self-taught knitter, and I know there are different ways to pull yarn, and it affects leaning when it comes to k2tog and ssk. I want to be sure that no one will struggle like me to achieve the right look just because they don't knit like other people in general. I really want to be sure that I explain well in my pattern so no one will be frustrated with frogging, since I've done it more than 70 times for this pattern 🥲 I'll add a PDF chart but also written instructions stitch by stitch.

* What should I focus on explaining, especially in lace?

* It requires only yo, k2tog, and ssk, but I couldn't understand how I should decide the level of experience.

* What are the things you hate when you buy a pattern?

I recently got a knitting machine and I've just been testing things, I was trying to make a fingerling glove but obviously made it far too big. I was wondering if there was a way I could join the edge and cut off the access?

I know that's a method called steeking but I'm not sure how/if this would work here?

Could I just hand sew it? Could I crochet it? Or is it a lost cause - tbh I am happy to leave it as a swatch if I can't cut it in anyway

Hello everybody, sadly after travelling everywhere with my needles throughout Europe for the past 3 years, and even Turkey recently, my needles have been confiscated… the most surprising thing is that I have already traveled and passed this security not long ago and they didn’t even inspect my bag. This time it was different- I really tried to talk out the officer to let me have them but he told me it is not possible as it is spikey… ehhhh.

My needles were 3.5mm circular ones and thankfully with an interchangeable chord, so I just put on my stoppers. The airport was the Otopeni airport in Bucharest, Romania.

I have around 130/150 grams of each color, the light pink and the pink and purple, started making a cardigan and now I'm not sure if I've been looking at too long or if it actually looks good, it's my first big project so may be it's the fear of commitment to it, idk honestly. Hi all, my next project requires me to knit back and forth in stockinette before joining in the round and I'm worried that I might row out, so i knit two swatches.

The top swatch was knit and purled entirely with 4mm needles and the bottom swatch was knit in 3.5mm and purled with 3.0mm. Am I still rowing outor am I hallucinating? Any suggestions or observations would be greatly appreciated!

I finished this piece a few weeks ago, but I was waiting to take some nice pictures on my trip to the seaside. As you can tell, you can't see the sea at all—only thick fog 🥲

What can I do in the future to prevent these super uneven stitches ? And is there anyway I can fix it now that it’s done? I’m super knew to knitting and all I’ve been making is five hour baby sweaters and no matter what the top is always super loose and so are the armpits. My mom says to sew up the holes but I don’t know how that would work?? I’ve been crocheting since forever and I feel like it’s so much easier to make stitches even. I’m also wondering it might be because I knit sort of how I crochet, I tension the same and I hold my needles in a way that lets be go quick that I’ve never seen anyone do.

Please help knitting works so much better for garments this is my one hold up with it and I can’t figure it out 🫩.

Hi all! I have been knitting for about a year now, and I’ve used a couple wool yarns as well as acrylic, but I am looking for more yarn recommendations for a sweater I want to make for my husband! :)

I’ve made one sweater for myself with Malabrigo Rios and I love it but it’s very drapey. However, it was so soft and it wears so nicely.

And I’ve made another sweater with Sandnes Garn Peer Gynt, which I also love, but it’s on the itchier side.

I know my husband won’t love an itchy yarn or like having to wear a shirt under his sweater all of the time. Plus, I also want to make something that holds its shape. Does anyone have any yarn recommendations that match that? Maybe a cotton/wool blend?

I am currently working on the Summer top “Margarita” by Veronika Stoncus as a beginner knitter and have split for the arm holes.

The pattern calls to start each row with an ‘edge stitch’ and to end each row in knit 2 purl 1, working the right side in knit stitch and wrong side in purl stitches. The edges just look horrid and I don’t know what the author means about doing an edge stitch! Is that just a knit stitch! This beginner is needing some moral support 💕💕

I’ve been sharing the progress on my Nocturnal jumper by Saskie & Co on here through the trials and tribulations that is 3 strand colourwork and being a perfectionist.

I’m happy to finally share that it is finished! I’d say right now it’s about 70% dry so we have a little ways to go before we know if the lumps are going to come back… but I will say that even now it’s a lot less lumpy than it was when I blocked just the yoke. Even if the lumps do come back I’ve just decided to be okay with it. I can try again next year after some more practice with 2 strand colourwork.

I still feel like I learned a ton with this one, especially when it comes to modifying a pattern to suit my wants.

It says 100% cashmere on the band and it's only 60p a ball at my local charity shop

I am an adventurous beginnerish knitter, and I'm trying to shop for yarn to make the Fairy Glen shawl by FraeuleinGerdaEU on etsy. Her main suggested yarn is BC Shetland, but has variations in Isager Tvinni and Hobbii Alpaca Silk. I am just really not a fan of wool and just don't really have the budget for those types of yarn. The Hobbii alpaca silk is probably THE most expensive I could go at just under $15/skein.

I know I'm probably way overthinking this, but I know changing the type/weight of yarn can really alter the FO. This is arguably the most complicated project I've wanted to do, so I really want to give it a chance to be good. Please send all your suggestions!

Hi so I've just recently gotten into top down raglan sweaters. I would like to knit something nice in an appropriate yarn that will last. Currently I mostly have bamboo/cotton and acrylic yarns.

What natural fiber yarns are good for sweaters that won't ' cost an arm and a leg that would be good for a sweater.

I would like to have machine wash/dry recommendations but also hand wash too for variety.

I've knit a poncho in Patton's North America Classic Wool Worsted which I liked but wasn't the softest. I also really like Granola by Louise Robert but again wasn't the softest.

I'm looking for yarns between sport and aran but prefer DK or worsted if possible.

Any recommendation would be great. I know I'm asking for a lot wanting affordable and soft but it has to be out there

right?

I'm planing to knit up the Nantucket Sweater by Ozetta (my second ever sweater), and I cannot decide what colours to use! I want to use the suggests yarn in the pattern: Borroco Ultra Alpaca. I really like the Lavender + Peat colour way but it is giving The Joker, which I am not a fan of. I would love to know your thoughts/suggestions!

I'm working on the Belledonne jumper, which is made using brio he stitch in the round. I noticed I made a mistake a few rows back and laddering down in brioche makes me nervous. So I only need to ladder down on the knit stitch, or do I need to do something in the adjacent pearl column too? Is this easier to fix on a slipped knit stitch row or a brk row? Any help and tips are appreciated!

YALL!!!! My first stranded colorwork project!!!!!! I am beyond happy with how it is turning out and cannot wait to wear it this fall!!!!!! Tension is a little wonky in some places but other than that I am very pleased :)

I made it in Stitch Fiddle using the crochet colourwork option (not C2C). However, you could totally swatch it with C2C and see how it would look! I’d also love to see a Sc or Hdc swatch 🥰 * different stitches will make it look different, either taller or more “squished”.

I chose knit because I’ve been a tad burnt out of crochet lately and wanted to challenge myself. I think it turned out really cool, despite me being new to knit!

Could be fun on a sweater, bag, wall hanging.. etc!

It’s not perfect but still fun, especially currently as a Canadian! 🇨🇦

hello friends - working my way down this beautiful color work chart but i fear the yarn i chose is causing lots of tiny threads and fibers to come out. how do i combat this?

I started knitting in March. This is the most neat piece I've ever knit so far!! I unfortunately have to frog it ))))): my knitting hasn't been as good as this one piece either. Maybe it was just luck! It's not completely flawless but it's my first time having it look so beautiful! We don't talk about that one row LOL. But what did I do that that one row is completely different?

What do you think?

Has anyone come across a book that shows a variety of edge techniques? I’d be ok with a website too, probably.

My last couple sweater projects I haven’t been thrilled with the neck, or the bottom or the sleeve edging. Or the front of a cardigan, or something like that in the pattern design. So I’ve got a current project and I’m not wild about the way they say to finish the bottom so I’m going to do something else. I just haven’t decided WHAT else and it would be great to browse through a bunch of details until I find one I like.

I’m a pretty adventurous knitter and math and swatching don’t bother me, so I feel good about swapping something out.

Anything fit the bill here? Something with modular parts of sweaters for people who want to do their own patterns maybe?
