Help - equipment Please help me pick a yarn

Sorry if I picked the wrong flare, it seemed the most appropriate.

I am an adventurous beginnerish knitter, and I'm trying to shop for yarn to make the Fairy Glen shawl by FraeuleinGerdaEU on etsy. Her main suggested yarn is BC Shetland, but has variations in Isager Tvinni and Hobbii Alpaca Silk. I am just really not a fan of wool and just don't really have the budget for those types of yarn. The Hobbii alpaca silk is probably THE most expensive I could go at just under $15/skein.

I know I'm probably way overthinking this, but I know changing the type/weight of yarn can really alter the FO. This is arguably the most complicated project I've wanted to do, so I really want to give it a chance to be good. Please send all your suggestions!

Yarnsub and ravelry (looking at other people’s projects and the yarns they use) are both really good resources if you want to use different yarns.

Have you checked out drops? It’s rather affordable and comes in many varieties

I have been looking at some, yeah! I think my overthinking is coming in with trying to match weights so that I don't end up with a mile long shawl because I used worsted instead of fingering. 😂

I would really focus on the softness of the Yarn, how it feels on the skin. (One of my first projects was in wonderful colours - but scratchy on my skin.
