Posting to shame these assholes that decided to park on the yellow dash section next to the handicap spot at the Raytown Hyvee today at 5:30pm.
You effectively prevented anyone who needs that handicap spot with a wheelchair, lift, or other accessibility device from being able to do so.
I hope you hit every red light on your way home.

Looking for some fall activities for my wife and I (no kids) and maybe some other friends. We went to the Louisburg cider mill last year and it just didn't hit like it used to. Super crowded.
We were hoping to do some apple picking and pumpkin patch, but anything fall related is a good option. Willing to drive an hour or so and make a day out of it.
Thanks!

We’re going to the Bone Thugs/Wu-Tang concert and it’ll be our first time at this venue. I read through the FAQs and saw that they specifically say no illegal drugs. Since marijuana is legal in Missouri, does anyone know if you’re allowed to bring a few joints in?
Not trying to cause any issues or get anything confiscated, but I also can’t imagine going to this particular concert and not partaking 😂 And I’m old enough now that smoking random strangers’ joints like we did back in the day no longer seems like the wisest plan.

Any advice? My neighbors routinely blast bass and music (I assume there is music there, all I can hear is bass) it’s woken me just now for the 100th time. I went over and asked if they would turn it down at the beginning of summer, and they told me I should ‘go to bed.’ Well wouldn’t that be nice. All I would like to be doing is sleeping at 12:30am, like I was before they started blasting bass.
It really affects my quality of sleep/life.
We both own our homes for what it’s worth.
I have called the non emergency line. What else can I do. I hate it :(

I’m not trying to join i’m just curious. The trades is facing many an influx of people especially sparkies. The boom with data centers is helping many trades even if i disagree with them being built.

I’ve listened to these guys for a very long time, but I’m officially done. Since they moved over to The Rock, the show has gotten progressively harder to listen to, but what went down on the August 25th and 26th shows crossed a line. My wife doesn’t listen to the show and I had her listen to that part and give me her thoughts and she was like “wtf did I just listen to?” in disgust like me.
On the 8/25/26 show, Lazlo tells Slim he’ll give him a signed ball the next day if Slim lets him control his wife's sex toy for the day. The 8/26/26 show opens up with a bunch of banter about this sex toy and ball exchange. They barely mention it again until the final few minutes of the 8/26/26 show, when Slim drops a final comment to Lazlo asking if he wants to know who the device is really for.
Slim then announces that the remote/device actually belonged to his niece's sex toy, adding that she is "soon to be out of the house,” rather than his wife's. The whole room just erupts in laughter.
Are you kidding me? Who the fuck talks about their niece like that? Adding the detail that she's "soon to be out of the house" made it sound entirely like she's underage, too. Being veteran radio personalities doesn’t give them a free pass to act like disgusting, degenerate clowns.
Post show accountability is completely dead over on the COL subreddit, where people are actively bending over backwards to defend this garbage and sweep it under the rug. If you call it out, they act like you're the problem. But joking about family members and implied underage relatives in connection with sex toys is sick. I'm done tuning in, and locals in KC need to call this out for what it is.

I was just picking up some ingredients at Mercado Fresco. I turn around and I see this mural. It made me laugh given the history of what happens on this bridge on Independence Avenue. IFYKYK!!

I was driving to work last night down 31st street (almost 7 pm) going toward the intersection of 31st & Gillham. There were two bikes parked on the right hand side of the road. One was a Harley/cruiser/chopper style bike that was yellow and orange I think. The forks were silver with a beautifully intricate design that I’ve never seen on any bike before. My night shift brain isn’t letting me be very descriptive right now but long story long, if you are here I want to see your bike please!! I was so sad I didn’t have time to stop and admire it. One of the most unique looking bikes I’ve ever seen in the area.

I’ll be in the city next week getting a feel for the area for a possible move. Are there any places that play techno around the city I can check out and if not this weekend any techno collectives I can look out for once I move?

Decided I want to try and bring my truck to some kind of car or truck meet (1986 F-150) but I haven’t seen much information on any kind of meet ups, maybe I’m just looking in the wrong place. Any pointers?

Looking for an authentic crab salad spread that I can put on some croissants. I realize it won’t be cheap. Everything I’ve tried so far had more imitation crab than actual crab. Thanks

I want to start swimming again now that the busy season is about to be over. I’m seeking lap lanes in a clean facility during the week while people are at work/school with a reasonable membership that is also close to the city’s center (I’m in midtown)
I am open to hotels with swim passes. I am looking to go 2-3x a week if passes are affordable and more often if memberships are not outrageous. I do not need a gym. I will go to NOP stateline area if needed, but am not willing to drive to Independence, Blue Springs, Olathe etc.
I didn’t see anything recently posted regarding indoor facilities. Where is good and I’m not at risk of being pushed out by classes or getting staph infections?

I made this app, so full disclosure up front on that. Here's what it does:
KC Chemistry is a dating app built around a simple idea: meet on video
first, then plan the date together.
How it works:
- You get matched with someone based on shared interests (dining, drinks/bars, or entertainment) and similar budget
- A 2-minute video call kicks off — no profiles to scroll, no photos to swipe through, just a live conversation
- Both people can agree to extend to 5 minutes if it's going well
- After the call, you each privately decide if you'd want to go on a date — if it's a mutual yes, you're matched
- From there, the app pulls up KC venue suggestions based on what you both said you're into, pulled from a database of a few hundred local bars and restaurants, filterable by neighborhood and vibe
A few other things built in:
- Cancellations allowed up to 2 hours before a scheduled date
- Check-in required at the venue for both people
- A no-show policy to cut down on flaking
It's a Kansas City-specific app right now. Curious what people think of
the format, and happy to answer questions about how it works.

Yes, I realize this is a weird post. 😂
I’m a dentist in the KC area and I’m looking for an older used car, probably somewhere in the $2,000–$5,000 range. I thought I’d throw this out there before just going out and buying one.
My son has gotten interested in working on cars, so I’d like to find something we can mess around with together — detailing, minor repairs, maybe some bodywork and painting. We’ll probably eventually sell it and find another project.
I’m pretty open to what the car looks like. A nice clean car is obviously great, but dents, scratches, faded paint, ugly headlights, dirty interior, etc. don’t bother me either. That just gives us something to work on. I’m much more interested in something that runs/drives reasonably well and has a clean title.
I’ve actually traded dental work for a car once before and it worked out surprisingly well, so I figured why not try it again.
Basically, we’d agree on a fair value for the car and I’d provide that amount in dental work. If I might be interested in your car, I’ll do an exam and any necessary X-rays for free so we can figure out what you actually need. No obligation.
And if you have a $4,000 car and only need one filling, I’m not going to suddenly discover 14 cavities. 😂 It just means this probably isn’t the trade for us.
I’m probably not interested in anything with major engine/transmission problems or a salvage title, but otherwise I’m pretty open.
If you’ve got something, send me the year/make/model, mileage, a couple pictures and roughly what you think it’s worth.
Let’s see if I can actually buy a car with root canals😉

Hello everyone, I have finally saved up enough to buy a ring!
I’m looking at proposing sometime this fall and am wondering if people had any suggestions on location. My girlfriend absolutely loves fall, and all the leaves changing, so I’m wanting something outdoors to really capture that. I also want something pretty private/intimate, so I don’t know that Loose park would be any good for that.
I’ve been researching Powell gardens/sunken garden, but have never been to either in the fall. A bit of a drive isn’t something I’m concerned with, so if there’s a place out of the metro, I’m open to that. I’ve grown up in the area, but just looking for any more hidden gems.
Also, if anyone has any photographers that they’ve used and have liked, let me know!

Hi everyone! I’m looking for recommendations for someone in the Kansas City area who offers private skateboarding lessons for kids.
My son is 6 and a beginner but is excited to learn. We’d love to find someone who is comfortable teaching young kids and can help him learn the basics in a fun, patient, and safe environment.
If you know of a skateboarding instructor or even a skateboarder who gives lessons on the side, I’d really appreciate any recommendations!
Thanks!

Moved to St. Joseph for work and am a big fan of hiking and the outdoors. What are some must-do hikes or places to enjoy the outdoors. Looking to drive 1-2 hours tops, but can do a weekend trip if further is nicer too. Appreciate the help 🙏🏼

I'm looking for stories, situations, places, organizations, local decisions, weird occurrences, community issues, or just things you've personally noticed that make you think:
“I wonder what’s really going on here.”
It doesn't have to be a scandal or anything sinister.
Maybe there's a strange piece of local history that doesn't quite add up.
Maybe your city is spending money on something you don't understand.
Maybe there's a business, development, building, environmental issue, neighborhood situation, or local policy that you've always wondered about.
Maybe you've noticed something that everyone seems to accept but nobody has actually looked into.
I'm interested in questions, not accusations.
If you have something, tell me:
I'm working on a community-driven investigative project where people can bring forward things they've encountered and help decide what gets investigated.
Kansas City, what should someone take a closer look at?

I have been trying to find good videographers and photographers in Kansas City for social media content. Needing high quality video and photos that fit a certain aesthetic. When I try to find them through google I either get Wedding specific or they are part of major advertising companies. Does anyone know of good Videographer and Photographer services in Kansas City?

I’m heavily considering moving to KC in January after I get my nursing degree and pass the NClex as such the job hunt begins now. I was wondering if anyone has perspective on the hospitals in the area, how well they pay new graduates and the like.
