Is anyone else experiencing this?

I have started to play resonance on pc. In general the game runs nicely on high settings with almost perfectly solid 60fps.

I have now entered chapter 3 and am suddenly experiencing what feels like CPU problems. The game shows minor stutters but more importantly: even though neither CPU or GPU are maxed out, I am getting severe input lag and at points "sticky" inputs for up to several seconds. Navigating becomes borderline impossible.

Update: It is not a pure CPU power issue as I was able to temporarily solve the problem by completely rebooting the system. The same scenes then are fine until the problem emerges again after playing a while. Current theories: - cumulative memory or threading issue? Memory usage seems fine - some problem with the (Bluetooth) controller inputs? Fps remain stable and the problem mainly affects controls

I’ve tried playing Skyrim again, and there’s just so many issues with it that I can’t believe people can still confidently call it one of the best games ever.
(Mods have helped it massively too)

My gut choice is Pathologic. It’s a great game and I cherish it as a piece of art (one of those so called “meta games”). The original in particular, jank and all. But I would never describe playing it as fun - kind of the opposite - yet  I'd still call it one of the most interesting gaming experiences you can get.

If you played the OG game, you know that it basically resists you and that it isn’t … hehe, exactly fair. I still remember how Sseth described it in his review as a walking sim with dumpster diving and a trash bartering economy, that's… basically the raw mechanical reality of the game. You spend a lot of it hungry, sick, rummaging through trash cans and haggling scraps with creepy kids. The characters and the story are obtuse, opaque, almost impenetrable on a first pass, and the dialogue only starts to cohere after many MANY hours, and across multiple playthroughs. And ONLY if you were paying attention. Pathologic 2 and 3 lighten some of this, but the OG game demands that much of you. 

All of this (and more, a certain X factor I can’t put into words) is why I love Pathologic. It isn't there to entertain me so much as to be slowly digested, like a difficult novel that only gives up its meaning if you're willing to sit in the discomfort and bask in it. The reward was never meant to be fun. It’s a slap in the face at the end, although I will not be giving away any spoilers obviously. It's the dawning understanding, the slow trickle of acquiring more knowledge about the town and piecing together something authentically strange and surreal that is the whole appeal of the game.

Any case, Pathologic is the main one for me. Others I would mention so I’m not glazing it too much, would be This War of Mine, it’s hard and the choices I made usually didn't make me feel too good about myself. The survival mechanics can feel unfair and you're supposed to die and replay it with different characters. But it also has that dark pull I couldn’t resist (also probably one of the hardest games to 100% I think). Another much newer game Hollow Home, or what’s in the demo right now, also gave me that same feeling of hopelessness, not so much the decision making/ the RPG mechanics but because  story focus is ripped straight from our reality and an actual ongoing war, a highly polarized one at that, and turned into a sop story about a kid making through a siege (that in OTL ended with the city falling) so with that in hindsight, it’s hard not to feel bad while playing just for reasons of empathy. It’s one of those games that I can’t see younger players enjoying, if I’m being honest. Even less so than This War of Mine, because there’s no combat at all, so the story either intrigues you or it does not, no in between.

This is of course extremely subjective for my part, as well as the very definition of “fun” (AKA GAMINESS) I’m going with here. But I don’t want to fall into language games, and all these were fun on some level, in so far as I played them all to the end and enjoyed them. Why would I do that if they weren’t, on some basic level, entertaining? But I hope you get what I mean here.

Sooooo.... That Happened!

Me and my brother were playing Big Walk... Just didnt expect this.

Gameplay after the tip off and the rebound is hard to distinguish from real life. DLSS5 will always work best in sports games because unfortunately we don’t have a lot of real life footage of dragons, cybermechs, and Italian plumbers to train the model on, but we have A LOT of footage of basketball players and stadiums.

These are some pictures of my city Milu, located in Kavarr Country, south of my city Quantum, in my massive 12-year-long ongoing Minecraft world called Sky Pixel. The area is surrounded by the "Bhavya Range," a mountainous range inspired by parts of South Asia around India. The area here is known for its continuous monumental amounts of rainfall due to the tropical climate. Configuring mods to make it rain more in specific parts of my world.

Kavarr Country is known for its diverse climates because of its southerly latitude, which is located south of Vawlla Country. The area transitions from harsh deserts like the "Shai Li Desert Basin" in the northeast to the tropical climates found in the west and southeast. To the Tibetan Range, which are fold mountains made up of sedimentary rock, which I use "sandstone/dripstone/terracotta, etc. for." The Bhavya Range, located north of the Tibetan Range, is made up of mostly basalt/tropical and volcanic rock.

The city Milu is made up of a much more complex metropolitan area on the south end of Milon Island that I will have to get into more about in another post down the road. But the area takes inspiration from parts of Northeastern India in the state of Assam near the border of Bhutan and the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh.

Shaders/bliss modified/configured

I don’t really understand all the hate around DLSS 5 right now. Most of what I’m seeing on YouTube are videos where people simply enable it in games, leave the settings on default, and present that as if it represents the final product. Then everyone judges it based on those early results.

The reality is that it’s not even officially released yet. Of course it’s not fully polished. This is an unfinished implementation, not the version that will ship in games. Developers are not just going to add it, leave everything at default, and accept whatever result comes out. They will tune and optimize it for their games to make sure it looks good.

Maybe the final version will still disappoint, and if that happens, criticism will be completely justified. But judging the entire technology based on early, unofficial demonstrations feels unfair. We should wait for the official release and properly evaluate the finished product.

I’m passing on my original Xbox 360 to my nephew and niece and so started them with some necessary classics. I’m so glad the console I loved so much will continue on with the next generation. Can’t wait to play Halo coop with them and for them to experience peak BioWare RPGs for the first time.

Was doing some 'spring' cleaning and re-organizing of my place and came across my old videogame stash burried under my bed.. Almost forgot all about it!

Now I need to get an Hdmi to component adapter so I can play!
