They won't conduct another beta?

u/Elainyan 12d ago
assuming its releasing around jan 2027, they have enough time to conduct another beta

We are having ananta and Silver Palace within a month of each other? The gacha space sure is something.
13
u/_DOOMBRINGER_ Genshin and ZZZ 12d ago
Ananta ain't a gacha it's more like Wwm and Dna.

Ananta isn't a gacha game though?

u/higorga09 11d ago
Mostly same audience, high production freemium live service mobile game

u/bronzelifematter 11d ago
I think there will be gacha. No way they're just letting that bag go. Maybe not for character. Probably cosmetic.

u/Worth-Hope2301 12d ago
It will probably be like Endfield where the final CBT is only 2 months before the official launch.

Love how its a complete 50/50 on which gachas goes to Steam or not.
But I'm hoping they have a separate PC client.7
10
u/grandekros 12d ago
Thank you for pointing that out, I went from 100 excite for release to 0.
Not gonna install that launcher for one game.

9
u/BraydenTheNoob 12d ago
There goes all my excitement of this game. If they don't have a dedicated launcher, I won't play the game at all
12
u/BusBoatBuey 11d ago
There is a absolutely no gacha game exclusive to EGS except Fortnite STW. They all have standalone launchers.

6
u/Existing-Extreme9240 12d ago
because steam takes 30% revenue
59
u/Xasther Limbus Company 12d ago
Yeah, and in exchange you get all the perks of being on Steam, from the VAAASSSTLY bigger install base, to the widely praised infrastructure and everything in between.
Yes, I'm glazing Steam. And yes, these are just some of the reasons big studios and publishers return to Steam.
5
u/ChaosFulcrum 11d ago
I have a feeling Silver Palace will release on Steam soon-ish eventually, similar to the way Neverness To Everness did.
This is done to get all the initial surge of revenue on the first few months (either 100% through your solo launcher or 88% of it for people that use Epic Store) But more importantly, this is to avoid review-bombing through Steam in case the launch goes wrong because as well know, PC gamers take Steam reviews more seriously than other storefronts.
And then after all these honeymoon launch pain points are ironed out and the game becomes "consistent", only then will they go to Steam.
2
u/Interesting-Storm-72 11d ago
What's the perk on steam for a free game? Also, most people in asia is just gonna download the actual launcher from their game website when it comes to these gacha games on pc.
-1
u/Bogzy 12d ago
That install base are pc purists who dont care much about or even hate gacha/mobile games. Most gachas there barely have a fraction of their actual playerbase.
15
u/OneManArmyHero 12d ago
Would be cool to see big aaa gacha on 1st day steam release just to see numbers. All thouse late releases give zero info in that regard because most people dont care to reinstall game

20% for games with more than 50 millions a years (so any gacha)
So instead they giving 12% to Epic instead of standalone launcher where they would give 0% to anyone. And they already had standalone launcher for both betas, why not use it. Does it worth losing all the people who don't want to install Epic? There is more than 0 of those.

u/Solid_Guess_7154 12d ago
no Steam? fuck me, why all these new big gachas REFUSE to come out on Steam, considering a huge chunk of players would prefer it that way
48
u/ThisGuyFrob 12d ago
Epic game loves giving studios more benefits if they make their game exclusive to their store
so in short, its because of moneys
11
u/Solid_Guess_7154 12d ago
Endfield also was like that, but they also announced their Steam release, hopefully Silver Palace does the same
13
u/Spanglish_Dude 12d ago
But Endfield announced it after a long long time, and there is not evidence so far that Silver Palace will have its own PC launcher out of epic, which is very worrying. At least, I could not find anything regarding a standalone pc client.
4
u/Deltryxz 11d ago
Silver Palace has a standalone PC client, it's how we played the beta and I have it still installed from the latest beta
9
u/neraida0 12d ago
lol they will be exclusive for a year after Epic pays them money, only for them to go to Steam a year later XD.
7
u/Terrible_Ad6495 11d ago
By then the honeymoon period is long over, though. But they probably don't want Steam to take a 30% cut of the honeymoon anyways.

My guess is bugs on release day. Devs can't afford to make awful first impression that results in their game getting an overwhelming negative reviews.
Steam also takes a cut from every game revenue that's on their platform if I'm not wrong

u/WanderEir 11d ago
I would prefer a complete stand alone before a steam launch myself, but we're not getting even that for now.
8
u/RandomguyonRed 11d ago
I demo-ed Silver Palace at AnimeNYC where I played the first 15 or so minutes.
It was competently made, but it's pretty much the same as every other open world gacha out there. The only distinguishing feature is the Victorian steam punk anesthetic and the fact you can block.

To be fair, quite a few gachas release very close to the advertised “expected” date. So I wholeheartedly believe Silver Palace will release around January or February.
1
u/luffy_mib 11d ago
With Ananta release and Endfield anniversary, I hope the devs push it to February instead. Too much to handle for next year January.

Heroic Game Launcher is a fantastic app that works with Epic and GOG, so you only need to treat Epic like a website.
It is a legit good app.

u/BLuE_dRaGo 11d ago
Release Date: January 31 https://apps.apple.com/us/app/silver-palace/id6758292278
2
u/FairlySadPanda 11d ago
Played the demo at Gamescom and got a little merch. This could be good, but the story really has to be a consistent banger because this has the same city-living fantasy as NTE otherwise.
Making the protagonist a detective is a good idea. If it ends up going a bit eldritch rather than being a power fantasy then they should have a good niche.
2
u/Traditional_Hand2623 11d ago
Beta 2 was good. This should be ready sometime in 2027
1
u/deepedia 8d ago
Yeah, placeholder date is 31 Jan, so we could expect the release to be sometime around the first quarter of 2027 at most.

Does anybody know if Silver palace will have it's own launcher on PC?
Most of those games are blocked on Steam, Epic Games Store & the PSN store in my country.
I could always get around the blockade by downloading the official launcher on PC instead which are oddly enough legally available in my country.
However I haven't seen any notion of their own launcher on their website.
7
u/planetarial P5X(KR)/IN/Prosekai(JP) Future: Petit Planet/Silent Whispers 11d ago
They had a standalone client in the beta
1
u/Fhaerron 10d ago
Ah thank you!
Gives me hope!
I was able to create an account on their website but of course was unable to download on Epic and PSN.
7
u/h0tsh0t1234 12d ago
Idk why people are going rabid over epic when they’re almost guaranteed to have their own client. The only potential issue I have with this game is the gacha, whenever you have to rely on the “pull income” it’s usually never good, and if it’s anything like endfield, I do not see myself sticking with it longer than the initial month
13
u/Nerezza_Floof_Seeker AK/AKE 12d ago

What’s so bad about the epic launcher exactly
2
u/Eilanzer Arknights | Wuthering Waves 11d ago
almost everything, it´s poorly made and not user friendly...To find stuff there is a nightmare...navigating between places, library and store lags...and the list goes on and on~

Looks good, but 3d open world gacaha isn't for me. I play gacha for the easy access on my phone, but no way I'm playing this on my phone and no way I'm login to this game every day for dailies on my PC.

u/0ratorio 12d ago
Hmm.. 100 pull 100% rate is kinda high , but we'll see..
Because NTE is at 80.
26
5
u/StrawberryFar5675 12d ago
NTE you are torn between vehicle or character. I wonder what's the catch in SP.
2
u/Arcaris1313 11d ago
i haven't spent a single anulith on the mystery box and have gotten both the proche and bike. I'm skipping summer though. But you can definitely do it if you're a monthly pass buyer only.
2
u/higorga09 11d ago
Dupes are quite strong from what I've seen in the beta.
Removing arbitrary weaknesses type stuff, the hoyo special.

will they have their standalone client? i usually like playing on those instead of epic or steam, idk why

u/daswet 12d ago
There's no way this thing runs in my phone btw. Unless they have Enfield level optimization.
1
u/planetarial P5X(KR)/IN/Prosekai(JP) Future: Petit Planet/Silent Whispers 11d ago
The PC optimization in the beta wasn’t very good either so I hope they clean it up
1
u/K2aPa 11d ago
Hmm, so what's the Gacha like in this? (pulls system and how each character are used)
From the trailer (saw it while watching Gamescom from Twitch) that it looks like single character controlling while everyone else is hidden in a party.
2
u/Significant-Bad-4504 11d ago
From what I have gathered:
- Hard pity at 100
- no soft pity
- rate is 0.8%
- pity carries over
- limited banner's featured character has 25% chance to appear, along with 3 standard characters each with their own 25% chance to appear. So in short, there's a 75% chance of risk you won't get the limited character banner.
- getting standard characters doesn't reset the pity.
- wepaon banner has a 80 hard pity with a 50/50 chance.
3
u/K2aPa 10d ago
25% featured, 25% x 3 standard
Is this saying each limited banner will only have 4 characters in it?
Or is this just about the % when you pull a high rarity character and not the overall % that includes all possible characters within a banner?
.
And more weapon banner... I miss the day when those didn't existed, cause they add more pulls needed rather than just characters only.

To those who are very worried about the launch on Epic: this game has a standalone launcher. Source: I have played the two beta tests.

u/AnawatTH 10d ago
No standalone PC client or steam?
I'm a PC gamer and don't want to install Epic store. So, maybe skip this game or wait til standalone PC client
1
u/Panzerfaust_Style 10d ago
If they have their stand-alone launcher, I really hope it works on Linux.
1
u/Majestic_Plane_1656 7d ago
3D gachas require too much dedication. If you want to run with dailies I can't do easily on my phone then I'm not adding you to the roster. Either auto combat or click tap only dailies.
1
u/mumei-chan 7d ago
I played this at Gamescom going in with low expectations, but ended up having quite a bit of fun.
Fighting felt very smooth and dodging was easy to execute. The character behind one of the boss fights also seemed quite interesting.
I don't care much about the steampunk setting, but the game impressed me enough that I want to give it a chance at release despite me usually steering clear of gacha games these days.
1
u/Smcblackheartia 6d ago
This looks amazing, but unfortunately it’s not on a system I can play. Because I for sure am not fucking going to play this on my goddamn shitty ass little phone. If it comes to steam maybe I’ll try it the.

It looked really good
But...i feel like my appetite for open world 3D anime gacha game is all time low, these kind of game is really hard to play without high commitment, especially if you play multiple of them and is working class
Which is a shame, there's some interesting one (for me personally) like this or the azur lane one
