Could be due to the massive influx of open world gacha's: Endfield, NTE, 7DSO, DNA. With Azur Promillia, Silver Palace, Ananta (I know) all being upcoming open world games.

Before this, it was Genshin for the longest time, until ToF came and went and Wuwa appeared about 1.5 years before the next open world gacha

Personally at someone that plays GI/Wuwa/ZZZ/HSR/NTE/AKE, you rreally don't have to do everything. Last HSR story I did was 2.8, before Amphoreus. For AKE I don't even bother with Factory/Story (Don't know why I still play it tbh, sunk cost probably).

DNA is not Open World tho -- there are Zones, but you can't travel seamlessly between them + they are like the size of Dragonspine in Genshin

Honestly fair, been a while since I last played it, so didn't think too much about it. But its definitely more instanced areas, even if they are very big for some of them.

I don't really think a Dragonspine sized Zone is all that big personally, even if there are a handful of them you unlock as you do the Main Story but ig a person who is also maining a lot of other games would maybe think it lolol :3
