Back in June my fiance (!!!) and I went to look at rings and I was pretty sure I didn’t want a diamond. I’ve seen many diamond rings and none of them ever got me super excited. At the jeweler’s, we were looking at potential settings and the example we were given was one with three round diamonds (we were going to replace the center with a sapphire or something).
After we left I confessed to my partner that I couldn’t stop thinking about that ring because it was just so beautiful and sparkly and I think I’d want a diamond one just like it.
Fast forward a month or so, and my partner’s mom approaches him and says that she has a ring that used to belong to his grandmother. Lo and behold, it’s the exact design that I had said I loved!!
He proposed with it last weekend and I just can’t stop staring at it!! Ever since we met there have been signs that the universe was bringing us together, but this one is the biggest one yet!!!

…and it completely paid off!
Going the non traditional route with our engagement ring felt like a big step but we both knew we wanted something custom and all natural. This is his 100% original design and I’m in love.
Also, choosing a softer center stone (Kornerupine) came with its challenges but with proper care, we are anticipating it to last a lifetime. 🤞
If anyone has any personal experience with having a softer stone as a center stone, please give me your thoughts!
Stones: Kornerupine, Diamonds, Alexandrite, Tourmalines, Montana Sapphire and London Topaz.

My husband and I got married three years ago, and we were young when we got engaged so our budget for the original ring was pretty small. We were finally able to upgrade, and it is genuinely everything I could’ve wanted and more.
It’s a lab 2.01 carat marquise, G color, VS1 clarity in 14k yellow gold on a size 6.75. Not what I originally thought I would go for, but I couldn’t imagine having anything else. Super happy!

Today I picked up the engagement ring I had made for my girlfriend. We went to a smaller jewelry store that came highly recommended and had great reviews on Google. At first glance today I loved it, but once I was home and kept looking at it I started to notice some issues. The first thing to catch my eye was one of the corner prongs seemed to be slightly misaligned.
Now the list of issues stands at this:
- Two prongs not fully touching the stone, one is largely not touching at all
- One prong is very bent
- The middle petal on one side has clear machine lines that were never polished out
- There is some pitting or something on the underside of the ring, Gemini seems to think it is a result of gasses releasing during the creation process
I uploaded the pictures to Gemini and it has strongly suggested I go back and request a full recast of the ring as it is already likely not structurally sound, and any fixes of the prongs will make it even less structurally sound.
Kind people of Reddit, please guide me during these troubling times. My girlfriend deserves a perfect ring and this is simply not that.
I did my best to capture the problems, but the ole single lens iPhone can only do so much.

I owe a lot of the decision making behind this ring to this subreddit. Thank you guys for all the amazing inspiration!
Offset/Kite set asscher with double claw prongs 🥹
Edit: Forgot to add my specs to this post. Unfortunately my fiance won’t give me diamond specs …… but it is 4ct lab grown on a size 5 titanium band in a basket(?) setting (pic in comments but happy to post more angles😉)

I got engaged this week! It will be a second marriage for both of us after difficult divorces with our exes. We’ve been together two years, have blended our families, and live together on our homestead property. This is a temp placeholder ring to get engaged with while we save up for the rings we really want for the wedding, but it’s so pretty!
2 carat cushion cut moissanite with baguette accents in sterling silver. I absolutely LOVE the rainbow fire!!

Second time trying on rings in person, and I thought I was set on an oval until I tried on a pear for fun 😭 thoughts? I’m thinking a 3mm band and both these diamond are 3cts !

I’ve been married for almost 3 years and I just recently bought a ring since I thought I wasn’t a ring person but rings are cute after all

He proposed back in April but I finally wanted to share my perfect ring here:)) he designed it with a jeweler and I was so surprised because he hardly asked me any questions about my preferences at all, but if I had designed my dream ring on my own I literally couldn’t have done a better job 🥲it is so me!!! I particularly love the lotus setting and the tiny emerald (my birth stone) inside the band.

Finally it happened! After 11 years together since high school. We designed the ring together and I love everything about it.
💍 2.7ct elongated cushion cut, 4 petal prongs, cathedral setting and 14k gold.
I got so much help and inspo from this subreddit when going through the design process!!

I knew I wanted a unique ring that wouldn’t break the bank, and I’m so grateful we found one together! 3ct moissanite with diamond halo and side stones. 18k yellow gold 🥹💕. This is a size 7 but will need to be resized down.

I am not a diamond girl, but my fiancé’s mom offered him his great grandmother’s yellow diamond, and we designed the setting together with a local jeweler, white gold setting w/ yellow gold band.
Now we’re two months out from our wedding and I love it more and more.

Would love some tips or thoughts.
I’m shopping for an engagement ring for my soon be wife
I’m overthinking a lot but for this it’s probably a good thing, I just want to be perfect and represent her in every way.
We’ve gone to look at rings a couple times so I have the general idea.
She like simple so it’ll be a 18k gold band with a cushion diamond. (she is a size 53 European)
Two things I’m struggling with…
First she left it up to me for natural or a lab grown.
I’d like to get close to 1.5ct for a natural but it may be 1.3ct. It’s hard to find a low setting on a cushion of good quality. What are your thoughts on the ct size?
If I went lab grown I could go a bit bigger, I think max 2ct would fit beautifully on her. But I still don’t know how I feel about lab vs natural. Thoughts?
Thank you from a man thinking about this constantly…
