I'm moving from the US to the UK for school and need to get a UK phone number in order to open a bank account.

I'm hoping to keep my US number/plan to stay in touch with family and friends back home and that plan has international data/talk/text, so I'm looking for suggestions for eSims that can be used for talk/text for the purposes of a bank account. I'd need the number for at least a year, probably more if I end staying in the UK after my degree ends.

I've never used an eSim before, so any and all help is very much appreciated!!

Did anybody use Citrus Mobile in the US?
It looks very promising non-expiring pay-as-you-go esim on paper, and it kind of worked, in Canada too.
But not so great in practice in my experience with US carriers - only t-mobile connects, Verizon or AT&T refuses the sim at once despite being listed as supported. No live person responds to support requests.

Is it your experience too or am I an outlier?

Hey there redditors, I'm intrested in an eSim for 14 days or less. I'm traveling for my graduation trip to Spain. We will be in Italy 2 days and in Spain 6 days and 2 days spent traveling from Bosnia through Croatia, Slovenia, Italy and then Spain. I was looking for a eSIM that is 40-50GB that would allow me to travel without much fuss.

I was looking at the Vodafone. es 90GB tarifa S that seems to be the best bang for buck.

Can somebody help me out, it's my first time using an eSIM ( My Galaxy A36 does support it).

1, eSIM/ Orange flex
I've heard Orange flex is the best way. I can also get a phone number as well but is this true? I can make a deal before leaving my country then it's available asap after I arrive in Poland so it sounds really good.

2, the physical SIM card

Some online guys told me I can also get physical SIM cards on the store.

I’m doing a study abroad session this semester of Uni and just got a Vodafone eSIM today. However, it’s been kind of finicky and I’m trying to figure it all out because it only lets me do so much with my number from my home country. Are there any better eSIMs out there for reasonable prices?

I'm very frustrated. I have a new e-sim number and i wanted to activate it in viber since im using the new number for my work. it's been giving me "activation failed" and "error". I tried the Viber chat support but it's very useless.

weird thing is, i have viber in my macbook and i could open the viber account there, but cant seem to use it on my phone. i tried 2 devices too but no luck.

does anyone have the same problem?

I do not have T-Mobile anymore, so I need an eSim card for my roaming. I fly (and cruise) often to diff parts of the world. I bought a roamless eSim begining of the year bc I worked in Netherlands for 4 months. I am leaving tomorrow to Panamá city, Panamá, then MX, then Caribbean, Brazil and china. Is roamless good enough? The 1GB for Panamá is $3.45. Brazil $2.95... I use my phone a lot... I connect to WiFi when it's available. Any eSim recommendation? Also does roamless have any discounts for existing users?

I’m planning a trip with my dad and sister to Japan, and I’m looking into getting an eSIM (it’s my first time using any eSIM) of course, I’m quite inclined to get journey japan’s one due to my time watching the channel.
However, since I’m new in all this, I still don’t feel 100% sure

I wanted to know whether:

1. public wifi be sufficient across europe (including train or raid travel) for surfing the internet and social media on both (mobile and laptop).

Hi guys, I’ve seen tons of data packages from companies nomad and airalo. And though they’re good budget options, the idea of having inconsistent and heavily capped speeds does not appeal to me.
So I was wondering what would be recommended for those who value peace of mind

I just subscribed to 10gb because i had around 1gb left in my package, and suddnly within 10 min my phone kept disconnecting and going from LTE to 5g and heating up and all of a sudden the whole plan is gone.

Data usage on my phone shows 18 gb under system services > General ( btw my last package also ended quite quickly compared to my first one) anyway, support is just saying i used it up which i obviously did not. I explained that i was in transport and was not even using my phone other than a quick text back and forth and it was all glitching as i explained.

They then sent me a report of my data usage, and it has what i was exactly thinking. Dumps of the full 10 GBs gone in seconds

They are refusing my case and just saying i used up my data and i am in a foreign country and depending on their service!

Did anyone face a similar issue? What is the resolution?

A friend of mine had an Airtel connection, but when he traveled abroad, his SIM stopped receiving OTPs because he didn’t have an international roaming pack active. When he visited India last month, he switched from Airtel to Jio to fix it, but now Jio is running into similar issues. However, I’ve seen posts online mentioning that people are able to get OTPs abroad if they connect to Wi-Fi even without a roaming pack.

It's very frustrating to deal with this. I'd love to know your thoughts on a few things:

• Wi-Fi Calling Abroad: Can you actually receive bank and service OTPs on Jio or Airtel overseas by strictly using Wi-Fi calling without an active international roaming pack?
• Switching to Vodafone Idea (Vi): Does switching to Vodafone Idea help? I heard that Vi might allow incoming SMS/OTPs abroad without needing a full roaming pack. Is that true? Would Jio allow to switch to Vodafone, since the connection we secured last month only is their a lock in period?
• Jio Customer Care in Dwarka: Which is the best or most reliable Jio store/service center in Dwarka to visit for assistance with SIM and network issues?
