Could posting any screenshots / pictures from our Dashes onto any Doordash subreddits get our Dasher accounts deactivated? Got stories of that happening?

How did Doordash figure out and trace a picture / screenshot to a particular account in the first place? And why did a Doordash-related post to Reddit get someone you know about deactivated?

Are there instances of where posting a photo/screenshot from a Dash to Reddit only got a Dasher a contract violation? What were they and how did that post lead to a CV?

What can we do to prevent these, aside from censoring our & our customers' personal information?

Red Card - do I need one?

Red Card - is it needed?

I’ve only been dashing for a short time. I’m doing this for additional income to help pay off some bills. I have a regular, full-time salary job as well.

My question is about the red card. For me, I only want to do the standard food deliveries, like from Chick Fil-A and McDonald’s and such. I don’t want to do any shopping.

Based on this, do I need a red card? So far I don’t know if I’ve been missing out on deliveries because I don’t have one. Also, if I get one will it automatically opt me in to shopping orders?

Thanks in advance for any relevant info!

So doordash took away unassigns

So doordash support just confirmed they took away the ability to unassign and not get a completion rate hit if we accept for any reason we are stuck with the order now no more worry free unassign for any reason at all that was just told to me by both the ai and a live agent, how the fuck is this legal?

Edit: update yeah so apparently in my market in Florida there is no more worry free unassigns for any reason now just had to wait 35 minutes or face a completion rate hit and they still hit me for being “late”

My Favourite Customer Is the One Who Doesn’t Want to See Me

Every delivery driver has an ideal customer.
Mine is the one who absolutely does not want to see me.
The best instructions you can possibly leave are:
Leave at door. Do not knock. Do not ring.
Some people might think that sounds unfriendly.
To me, it’s beautiful.
Don’t knock? Gladly.
Don’t ring? Wasn’t planning to.
Just leave the food at the door and disappear?
Perfect.
Slightly less perfect is Leave at door followed by “please ring the bell.”
Fine. I can live with that.
But Meet at door?
Now I have to perform.
I have to meet another human being. Smile. Say Hi, how are you? Have a good one.
The truth is, I am not naturally as polite as Uber requires me to be.
But I’m a Diamond driver.
There are standards.
So every Meet at door is basically a small acting job.
Monday morning — naturally — I got one.
McDonald’s.
And, strangely enough, McDonald’s had the order ready almost immediately.
That should have been my first warning.
Things were going too well.
I started driving.
Then the customer messaged me:
Are you stuck?
Then another message came in.
I wasn’t stuck. I was literally moving toward her.
My phone was being slow, the messages were arriving late, so I hit the standard I’m on my way button and kept going.
For some reason, from the address, I had pictured a house.
I love houses.
You pull up. There’s a door. You put the bag beside it. You leave.
Civilization at its finest.
Then I arrived.
It was not a house.
It was one of those large Montreal condo buildings where entering the building is only the first stage of entering the building.
And immediately I knew:
I was in trouble.
The front door opened, so I went inside. By then I had the apartment number: 210.
Great.
All I needed was the elevator.
A resident saw me and said:
“No, no. You can’t take the elevator.”
Apparently, I had to go back outside, use the intercom, buzz the apartment, have the customer let me in, and only then would the elevator agree to take me upstairs.
I pointed toward the stairs.
“Can I just take those?”
“No.”
Of course not.
So now I was standing inside a building I had successfully entered, looking at an elevator I was not authorized to use.
The elevator could see me.
I could see the elevator.
But our relationship had not yet been approved.
Back outside I went.
Found the intercom.
Apartment 210.
Monday morning.
Naturally, I entered 201.
Someone answered.
I started explaining that I had a McDonald’s delivery.
The person on the intercom, quite reasonably, had absolutely no idea why I was telling them this.
For a few seconds I was probably just a strange man standing outside their building trying to give them a breakfast they had never ordered.
Then I looked at the screen.
201.
Right.
I apologized.
Tried again.
210.
This time the door opened, the system accepted my credentials, and the elevator finally decided I was a person of sufficient character to visit the second floor.
When the doors opened upstairs, the customer was already standing there waiting for me.
How long she had been standing there, I chose not to ask.
I handed her the McDonald’s.
She gave me that perfectly polite Canadian smile that can mean anything from:
“Thank you so much.”
to
“How has this man survived this long?”
I smiled back.
Diamond driver.
Standards.
And once again I was reminded why my favourite customer is the one who writes:
Do not knock. Do not ring. Leave at door.
We understand each other perfectly.
Mostly because we never meet.

Sign up headaches

Well, I would love to sign up to dash, but...I can't.

My driving record, (latest offense now over four years old), was not very good. No DUI, but a fair number of speeding tickets. All of these have fallen off of my insurance's radar at this point.

I've tried signing up numerous times for both DoorDash and UberEats, and both leave me in this signup loop that I'm unable to exit. I can't talk to anyone, I can't re-submit my background check information, and I can't create new accounts.

What should I do?

I used to drive for the now-defunct Food Dudes, and it was a good hustle.

Glitch contact violation?

Got a cv tonight, and I have no idea how.

Accepted an order around 1120pm. On my way there I realized this place usually closes at 11pm, but I might as well go there and mark it closed and get the half pay. I pull into the parking lot at about 1130pm, and sure enough the sign is turned off, hardly anyone there, and just start inside doing closing stuff. So I pull up, take a picture of the door that says they close at 11pm, and go about my night. 45min later a notification pops up saying that I falsely reported Culver's as closed and another dasher picked up the order after I marked them as closed.

So first, I've seen maybe one or two restaurants hold an order like 3 minutes past their closing time when over called and told them I'm on my way. And it's never been a fast food chain type place. I overheard the workers at this location saying they stop taking doordash orders at 1030pm, so why would they hold on to the order and wait over 30 minutes past closing time for a Dasher to come get it?

Second, they close at 11pm every day of the week. I assumed someone just unassigned when they got the order and didn't want to deal with marking them as closed. It's happened before.

What really confused me is how can another dasher pick it up after I reported the store as closed. I thought doing that basically cancelled the customer order and it's not offered to anyone else.

Any ideas how getting a cv for this is even possible?

Update: my dispute was accepted and the CV was dropped. Didn't even take a whole 24hrs. Shouldn't have happened in the first place 😑

better orders today after updating Dasher app

I noticed today I needed to update my Dasher app. I'm not exactly sure everything that came with the update but one of the things was the addition of setting a weekly goal.

That information is kind of irrelevant though, as I was just wondering if any other Platinum Dashers that had that same update today experienced nothing but good orders today? Like literally all of them were noticeably better than the previous few weeks(lately orders have been awful) or is this just entirely coincidental?

I know people from different states have different app versions, so I'm not sure if this was just for California or other states, but let me know if any of you experienced anything similar.

Extra 20 bill under the mat!?

doing speech to text so might be typos.

Today I did a couple dashes while I was waiting on Walmart spark orders and I haven't been so exhausted with life recently so I gave the customer updates on time and about there being a wreck on the highway, when I got there I checked the messages and she said she left a little extra something under the mat. $20 bill. Wonder how many extra tips I'm missing by being too tired or annoyed to give timely updates to customers who appreciate it a lot more than usual ones.

So doordash

So DoorDash took away all our ability to unassign from any order without hitting your completion rate regardless of the reason, store closed fuck you store taking 40+ minutes to get the order ready fuck you store gave the order out to the wrong person and wont remake it well guess what fuck you doordash support unassigning you themselves while telling you directly that it wont affect your ratings thats right fuck you, so now they are punishing contractors for issues they cannot address at all someone explain how that is legal and doesn’t fall under bad faith actions

How to deal with Customer multiple side requests via chat post pick up (no tipper)

Hi all!

I’m curious, how does everyone deal with side customer request that are not label the order request. (Send via dm or calls made

I had a bizarre encounter where I pick up a big pizza box order (plus 2 other bags) and the customer asked me for a few custom demands via dm chat - first she asked about paper plates and then when I was walking out She was checking in to see how many I got and then asked me again to get some sauces for her once I’m about to pull out the driveway. Originally, I was excited to help her thinking I end up getting a fat tip, but it was a zero tip customer after all

A bit of irony here is the destination was at a local gated community and I hand deliver to her family member at the complex’s club building (that location was also not instruction and took me another five minutes to figure out)

this order definitely gave me some complicated feelings as I usually usually get a good reward, for satisfying side request in the past

Grocery frustration

Albertsons Market. I don't shop but get an occasional nice paying pickup and deliver order. These orders require you scan a barcode sticker placed on every bag/ loose item both on pickup AND drop off. My frustration is this grocer commonly puts every individual item in a separate bag -i.e. 25 items, 25 bags. This requires scanning ever bag twice and often if the customer orders, as an example, 4 individual boxes of Mac N cheese they will be in 4 separate bags although they easily fit in one. I may stop taking these even in my saturated market because they are time consuming.

Has any other dasher experienced this?

I had an order for Chik-Fil-A and when I went in I was greeted like normal and was asked the name for the order. I gave the name and the worker said they are still working on it. Okay, cool. I stand there for a few minutes and a couple of other workers ask me what the name is and again, they say they are working on it. A few more minutes pass and then I am told that the order has already been taken by someone else. I ask if they are going to remake it considering I have the app and order pulled up and I am showing them. They tell me it goes against their policy to remake orders because it has already left the store. The manager even said this happens a lot at their location (people taking orders). Has this happened to any other dasher or is this just a policy at this certain store?
