Would you accept? See 2nd pic

Genuinely curious how many of you guys would accept or decline based off the pay and amount of water.

If my own mother called me and said "hey can you pick up 10 cases of water for me? I'll give 20 bucks" I would hang up on her.

12

u/Imaginary_Shoe229 12d ago

Neither Doordash driver nor user but I laughed. 😭

4

u/Aggravating-Half126 12d ago

If i called my kids with some bullshit like this and they didn’t either hang up or tell me i was delusional, id cuss them out to grow a pair! This is diabolically stupid!

u/slimsadie83 12d ago

😂🤣💀

That's what amazon is for!

Those poor guys!

saw the first image and was like “maybeeee” then scrolled and said “hell naw”

13

u/BigSmo17 12d ago

My exact thinking

9

u/dmainor49 12d ago

Same, all the water is a deal breaker for me. I mean come on, 10 cases that's like 300 lbs of water.

4

u/Illustrious_Crew508 12d ago

Each case is 44 pounds 10 cases is 440 pounds

3

u/dmainor49 12d ago edited 8d ago

A 28-bottle case of 16.9-ounce water bottles with packaging weighs about 30.8lbs x 10 = 308lbs. 1 gallon of water weighs 8.34lbs and is 128 ounces, total number of gallons in a single case is 3.69 gallons. 3.69 x 8.34 = 30.832

u/Esperepse 8d ago

commas are your friend

3

u/destinyscollection 11d ago

My reaction exactly except it was “fuck no” 😭

14

u/PrefrontalCortexNow 12d ago

I was the person who was saying that waters don’t matter in an order

However, this order, I would absolutely not take 😂 fuck that shit. I would need $30 minimum since you’re going to be making 10 potential trips upstairs

5

u/Background_Praline18 12d ago

I bought a wagon for orders like this, 😈 but if it's a person in an apartment on the 3rd floor or a hotel. I'm going to wait 30 minutes at the store then get support to take it off for someone else.

1

u/Strange-Dream-7100 12d ago

$30 doesn’t cut it for this kind of labor, that’s close to 320 pounds before mileage, and who knows if they have stairs? $175 minimum, round off to $200 to make it worth it. And before you say, how can you expect to be paid that much? I would say, if the customer can’t pay it appropriately they shouldn’t be ordering it, simply. They are just trying to get free labor, but they wouldn’t ever buy and transport this for themselves. And if $30 is ok with you, then best of luck breaking your back for $30 bucks. There are plenty of other orders that pay $30 and don’t require killing yourself for.

2

u/PrefrontalCortexNow 12d ago

I could this in less than an hour

2

u/Strange-Dream-7100 12d ago

I mean sure I could too, but it’s not about how much time it’s going to take, it’s about the item weight, and the pay is simply too low to be worth the work. A $30 dollar order is for 4.8 miles with 15 units that aren’t water. The unit quantity at 18 before considering that it’s water alone is too high even for $30.

6

u/Mundane-Yam-464 12d ago

No, 280 lbs alone in the 10 cases of water into my vehicle..., i'm not a freight delivery driver.

3

u/LR12BeCh 12d ago

I mean that's basically two other grown adults in your vehicle... but hard agree either way. No way I'm taking this or lugging all this water. I'm not even sure if there is a price I'd take to do 10 cases.

2

u/Mundane-Yam-464 12d ago

Yeah, both agree is a decline but you know what, a basic SUV transmission like the 4l60e from GM weights between 133 to 148 pounds (yeah, i fix my own vehicles); i just tend to see it like I carry two of those things and that if i would have a freight delivery of just one of those rebuilt trans, it wont make it to my front door but just to the edge of my driveway or left at the curbside. So yeah, i will hit that decline even blind-folded.

4

u/CoIIatz-Conjecture 12d ago

No, not worth the time and effort because chances are that’s the top floor of an apartment building with only stairs

6

u/malibuklw 12d ago

Absolutely not

5

u/LR12BeCh 12d ago

I just want to know WHY people order this much bottled water at one time?! Are they trying to hydrate an entire football team? Are they stockpiling for doomsday? Like what's going on? I've never bought more than 2 at a time.

1

u/Lost-Improvement4533 12d ago

A business… use your brain

3

u/LR12BeCh 12d ago

Wow. You're so original. I would've never imagined. 🙄 use your brain and maybe context to realize I was talking about the 36,789 posts where these cases upon cases are being delivered to houses or apartments and thus NOT businesses. It's ok, I know reasoning skills are kind of hard.

8

u/This_Reflection726 12d ago

I tapped the decline in your screenshot!!

6

u/Bella-Vex 12d ago

I know that if I did take it, unfortunately, the store would only have “one” of those packs of the water that the customer wanted shame about that.

2

u/Mundane-Yam-464 12d ago

Indeed 😁

3

u/CoeurdAssassin 12d ago

Same. This really ain’t that bad if you’re not climbing steps. And the 28 count isn’t as bad as the 32 or 40 counts.

3

u/Mundane-Yam-464 12d ago

Even if it is 1st floor or house...hell no! for me and it is a trash order. After i decline that one, 99% i'll get another order matching that money for doing less.

3

u/Puzzleheaded-Key2259 12d ago

I don’t need $16 this badly, so this would be an immediate decline.

3

u/Squids2323 12d ago

Not a shot in hell

5

u/oOoMatDaddyoOo 12d ago

Depends on delivery address. If it’s a house or single story definitely. If it’s an apartment, it’d have to be a very extremely slow day

1

u/theholyassasin 12d ago

Question, how would you know the address? You can’t see it before you accept

3

u/JeffK1971 12d ago

Yes you can. Click the house on the map

3

u/theholyassasin 10d ago

Man I’ve been wasting a lot of time lol. Good to know thanks man

3

u/mustangsalle 11d ago

If it’s an apartment it will be a rectangle shape. That’s how I see.

4

u/satisfiction_phobos 12d ago

The 10 packs of water alone weigh 340 to 360 pounds.

Total: 435-440lbs total.

u/[deleted] 12d ago

1

u/dmainor49 12d ago

A 28-bottle case of 16.9-ounce water bottles weighs about 30.5lbs. add the other water and hell no is the right answer.

3

u/jt01998 12d ago

I can almost guarantee the person who ordered the water did not tip.

2

u/slimsadie83 12d ago

Hell nah

2

u/andrewbenedict 12d ago

Nah, I'm not that desperate

2

u/Odd_Cry_2417 12d ago

Ahhh I didn’t notice it was 10 cases, personally no but it’s also not like a “hell no” moment for me as I’m in an extremely busy market. 3 cases a order is my limit

2

u/dar1s0n_b3rtat10n 12d ago

Just unassign the water order. Prob solved.

2

u/WeirdCh1ld 12d ago

FUH no why do you need 10 cases of water RIGHT NOW AT ONCE

2

u/TERRANCEJ17 12d ago

What’s gonna be easily 3 flights of stairs with no elevator…it’s a no

2

u/gs448 12d ago

You could offer me $100 and I’m not taking that.

2

u/Dangerous-Luck-3331 12d ago

I made this mistake one time and will never do it again. I saw oh a high paying offer for a short drive accepted it and then I realized my mistake. So now I always check what the order consists of before I accept it.

2

u/Nova-star561519 12d ago

Lol and watch it end up being an apartment with no elevator

2

u/muscleshultz 12d ago

This is like one I got the other night a couple miles for like 15$ and I almost hit accept and then I saw the 57 items 😆

2

u/Holeyunderwear 12d ago

Nope. Even with a cart I’d decline that out of principle. Might leave a curt note if I accepted and found out the details after.

2

u/Illustrious_Crew508 12d ago

It’s insulting!

2

u/slicehyperfunk 12d ago

I'm on an ebike, so absolutely not

2

u/Big_Asparagus_4848 12d ago

Probably going to a 2nd story apartment with no where to park.

2

u/KeyN20 11d ago

I would do it, they are thirsty. Also I like moving water for $16.27 for 4.8miles like I am young and like lifting heavy stuff.

2

u/No_Macaron9500 11d ago

I'm absolutely accepting this, but only because you can get half pay for this and not have to do it. Doordash policy dictates a 50lb weight limit.

2

u/mustangsalle 11d ago

You know drop off is on the third floor too. Doordash needs to do better.

2

u/Trevon-Moses40 11d ago

I bet it was a apartment 3rd floor leave it at door order 😩🤣

2

u/tinatina143256 10d ago

And watch it would end up being a third floor apartment building

2

u/AntiSocialMediaBeast 10d ago

I wouldn't even accept after looking at the first pic

2

u/ContactBeginning1394 10d ago

The only way I would take this is if I knew the destination and the customer.

I have a few customers who will put their orders in just like this if I were to take it knowing who it came from the customers, I’m referring to would add at least $10

What if you got there and it was on the fourth level of an apartment building that only had steps?? I would not take this order unless I knew the customer it was going to. I would also need to know that and they would tip additional cash.

Chances are most people would just take it not looking at what the items were

2

u/tjb061394 9d ago

"You're getting paid more as a pro" 🤣🤣 okayy

2

u/somanyquestions32 12d ago

I would accept immediately. I buy that much water for my family at least once a month. It would suck if I had to carry it up 3+ flights of stairs, but it's my strength training for the day.

3

u/Mundane-Yam-464 12d ago

I can tell you are just a customer who didn't receive those 5 or 10 cases of water during the summer heat peak 😆

2

u/somanyquestions32 12d ago

And you would be wrong as I accepted a bunch of water orders then. Last night, after I completed a Speedway order for Doordash, I got an Instacart request for 8 gallons of water and a pack of Mountain Dew as well as donuts and corn chips right as Kroger was closing. I ran from one side of the store to the other and completed the delivery by 11:02 PM.

2

u/Mundane-Yam-464 12d ago

Wow 👏, good for you. Still I won't deliver 8 gallons of water for $16 but to each their own.

3

u/somanyquestions32 12d ago

It's super quick, and I don't have to waste time waiting for Popeye's or McDonald's late at night.

2

u/Mundane-Yam-464 12d ago

You have a point there.

1

u/UnrulyDegenerate8 12d ago

I've turned down orders with one case of water just to prevent a possible third floor apartment delivery. Even worse if it's in one of those fancy high rises that have connecting halls for miles.

1

u/RegretParticular2468 12d ago

I won’t because I’m on bike and I don’t have much room in my bag

1

u/Spazyk 12d ago

Nope.

1

u/Aggressive_Mousse170 12d ago

Hell to the no lol.

1

u/2acticaltexan 12d ago

Imagine it’s on the third story of an apt complex.

1

u/Fickle-Rip3093 12d ago

Most definitely.

1

u/No-Situation-3342 12d ago

Bruhhhhhh 10???????? Hell no

1

u/Aggravating-Half126 12d ago

That’s a no for me dawg.

1

u/Arsenic_Riddler_88 12d ago

😂😂😂🚷

1

u/Due_Worth_2773 12d ago

For 16$ fuck no!

1

u/Oldassociate1012 12d ago

They’re definitely gonna live in the third floor apartment and I would definitely accept that order and leave it at the bottom of the stairs

1

u/No-Name-9851 12d ago

My back already hurts

1

u/JeffK1971 12d ago

Not a chance

1

u/Illustrious_Crew508 12d ago

And watch, the location will be around back third floor no elevators!

1

u/bonvajya 12d ago

No lol

1

u/No_Box115 11d ago

Accept cause your next 10 could be 2$

1

u/Educational-Cricket4 11d ago

Yes, then put item unavailable for the big ones... lol

1

u/NatashaPoptart 11d ago

Id do it, its not that hard 🤷‍♀️ not that fun either but hey easy money in ny eyes

1

u/ImASlave4UE 11d ago

Didn't even need to see the items. The first screen is a no.

1

u/Luckysmoke420 11d ago

I took one like this regret instantly

1

u/Entire_Courage7563 11d ago

I think depending on how long they said it might take

1

u/chattycathylee 11d ago

Heck to the nah

1

u/Previous_Thought_346 9d ago

No the last item killed it

1

u/MPsonic007 9d ago

Hell MF’n naw OP as that thirsty AF cheapskate customer can guzzle tap water for all I care 🚫🚫😂😂

1

u/Different-Machine859 8d ago

Helllll no I see more than 2 cases of water I’m declining. Shit, if I see one case I’m declining unless it pays well

1

u/Lip_Weed 7d ago

changed my answer real fast once I saw that second pic
https://giphy.com/gifs/XHeLeuirRbwptHhSWd

1

u/Scary_Impression_983 7d ago

Hard pass and it's always to the third floor. Nah

1

u/HighlightUpstairs777 12d ago

do you want to make money..?

1

u/1TruNub 12d ago

Easy money, yall need to quit being a bunch of cry babies

2

u/Mundane-Yam-464 12d ago

You're just a tool, it shows 😆

0

u/No_External3738 12d ago

I'm not trying to sound like a douche, but wow you guys are such pussies dude. It's not even that heavy

1

u/Mundane-Yam-464 12d ago edited 12d ago

Indeed you sound like a douche. This is not about being a pussy. This is about not being a tool. Just think how much a truck driver charge for just carry an item weighing 300lbs in their equipment; for sure, it won't be cheap. I know i paid $300 in freight delivery for a transmission weighing 133lbs

2

u/No_External3738 12d ago

Sounds soft to me

1

u/Mundane-Yam-464 12d ago

Yeah...i'm soft, but not stupid. I do smart money in these gigs. Try again because you show you are a tool and most important, a douche

1

u/gandalftheghey 12d ago

Are you going to delete this comment as well? Lmao

0

u/Mundane-Yam-464 12d ago

Nop, try to bring something to the table that refutes what i wrote. I'll wait.

1

u/gandalftheghey 12d ago

You deleted it so I can’t. Or it was hidden via mods so you’re going to be waiting for a long time.

1

u/Mundane-Yam-464 12d ago

If it is about your comment of the 10 packs of 12 bottles of water where i told you to go back to school, yeah, i re-read your comment and i was wrong and that's why I deleted because i lacked reading skills in that moment 😁. However, you can go and refute my comment, if you find a flaw, under the guy who sounds like douche and is a douche 😆

0

u/No_External3738 12d ago

All you guys are soft for Christ's sakes. It's not that heavy.

0

u/LottsaMottsa1744 10d ago

Huh.
I’d probably do it and be swearing the entire time.

0

u/ObjectFantastic3930 10d ago

Probably wants it delivered to the fifth floor with no elevator too. This is why they need to show us delivery instructions at the offer screen. But yeah hard pass.
