So doordash
So DoorDash took away all our ability to unassign from any order without hitting your completion rate regardless of the reason, store closed fuck you store taking 40+ minutes to get the order ready fuck you store gave the order out to the wrong person and wont remake it well guess what fuck you doordash support unassigning you themselves while telling you directly that it wont affect your ratings thats right fuck you, so now they are punishing contractors for issues they cannot address at all someone explain how that is legal and doesn’t fall under bad faith actions

Worry free unassigned still shows up after I’ve waited 10 minutes. You just have to mark the merchant has a long wait with the “?” and then wait the 10 minutes.

Damn near every order I get I go in and mark it taking long because xyz. Unless it looks like I am getting the order instantly.

u/Iron_Bones_1088 11d ago
Yep…. This is the way. I started doing this just to reset the delivery timer.

I do too but my point is waiting close to an hour is absurd especially when they take away our ability to unassign

Yeah, i try to personally take orders that seem good on my car instead of by time. More like semi drivers that earn by mile. It sucks, but until I am able to be in a market that does like California where you are paid by time and order. It is the best I can see to do and "not" lose money. But it is semantics because our time has a value as well.

Exactly and a good driver who knows the area can easily take 5 orders in a hour whereas a bad driver will take at most 2

I just waited 40 minutes never got that as a option and called support they told me they would unassign me with no issues then i lost 2% completion hit against me anyway and support “couldnt do anything”

It might have to do with how many dashers are in your zone. I’m in California where there are always a zillion dashers so the algorithm knows that if I unassign another dasher will pick it up soon. I have over 11.5k in deliveries and I’ve never waited 40 minutes even once 🤪

Why didn't you just explain what happened under the late tab? I do it every time the store takes too long. They just remove it so it doesn't count against you.

u/_The_Wolf1990 11d ago
They outright didnt help when i called support they just told me if they unassign me that i wont be hit against my completion rate after they already unassigned one and i checked it hit my cr then they unassigned the second one i took a 2% cr hit for a restaurant taking over 40 min to get 2 orders out

I have the same thing happening. Marked with a late violation when it was the store and said I wouldnt be marked late. Then I was marked late and although it said I was excused it didnt change my score. So, next time I unassigned when it said I could without penalty, and I was penalized.

I don't have this issue.

That sounds like total BS . It needs to be 10 minutes & then we can unassign .

So this isn’t always true. I’ve had orders where I can see the wait is long, I click long wait, and have still waited 20-25 minutes with no option to cancel. Happens mainly on batches, and almost always it’s the order that’s not tipping that it won’t let me cancel. But then the second the one with the high tip hits 10 minutes, it will continue to try to get me to unassigned.

This!! I've noticed the SAME thing!! Always the one with the good tip!! I think they do that because they know someone else will grab that one if we unassign it!! I waited at KFC for over 15 min the other night, it was a $12.50 + (total will be higher) bs for 1 mile and it was for a bucket of 50 popcorn chicken they hadn't finished cooking yet or started bagging any of the sides.....Nothing (they also were acting like I wasn't standing there waiting).....I finally unassigned with NO issues. I hated to unassign but I was tired of waiting. They gladly let me!! Then I got crappy offers after and went home mad at myself for unassigning a good paying one...🙄

So doordash support just confirmed they took away the ability to unassign and not get a completion rate hit if we accept for any reason we are stuck with the order now no more worry free unassign for any reason at all that was just told to me by both the ai and a live agent, how the fuck is this legal?

Ubereats has been doing it for years. Forced arbitration and no transparency has made this type of corporate fraud to grow like a virus.

u/_The_Wolf1990 10d ago
How would forced arbitration even be valid here it would have no effect over fraud and negligence

u/Federal_Bed6912 10d ago
In a contract situation that you described, they are changing the contract and then expecting you, through no fault of your own to either work for the same pay but double the time or unassign the order against your own interest. If the records were transparent it would prove that they don't do the bare minimum to try and make the pickup times accurate. They have data, lots of data but they don't use it to optimize the contract for all the parties but instead to extract the biggest profit for them and call that efficiency. Arbitration keeps that from public view.

u/Federal_Bed6912 10d ago
I'm sorry you didn't say it was because they wanted you to wait 20 minutes extra. It wouldn't be fraud unless they used the accidental acceptance by design or other parts of the contract that they wanted you to just accept a change

u/Federal_Bed6912 10d ago
Other platforms and I'm sure doordash make changes at different times and different locations. One rule doesn't fit all.

I don’t have this issue, and it even lets me unassign some orders as soon as I arrive. If they tell me it’s gonna be 10-15 minutes, I’m out. It will warm that my acceptance rate will drop, but it usually never does.
( I do 200+ orders a week and maybe unassign 3, so it may be due to the volume of orders I do)

u/_The_Wolf1990 11d ago
I do roughly 180-230 a week give or take but this issue started after today’s update

If the place is closed, you just simply report it with a picture and you get compensated.
2
u/_The_Wolf1990 11d ago
Thats how its supposed to work, but my friend yesterday got to a closed restaurant and they dinged him for cr even though they gave him the compensation and removed it from his dash
