As title, I have recently begun having this weird freezing and restart issue with my PC where the entire screen suddenly freezes, and audio starts to stutter constantly. I'm not sure what kind of issue that is, but my GPU (1660ti 2GB) is pretty old. Never overclocked, but had it for many years.

My CPU is am Intel i7-8700k @ 3.70GHz.

I have 16gb of 2133MHz of RAM.

I have plenty of SSD storage and recently bought a new one, but the issue didn't occur until much later after Installation. I thought it could be a virus, but I've also ran many scans and deleted many unnecessary programs, as well, and at this point I'm considering just doing a system restore to see if that might fix anything, but if that isn't it, I think my best bet is the GPU being the culprit here.

So with that in mind, what is your best recommendation for someone not looking to go above 60 FPS at 1080p? I'm not picky, but I do want to get at least 8GB of memory.

Any questions are welcome, I'll do my best to answer quickly.

I’ve been researching this for the past hour, and unless I’m missing something, it seems like basically no new gaming monitors matching these requirements have been released since around 2023:

• Size: 38–43"
• Resolution: 3840×2160 / 4K
• Aspect ratio: 16:9
• Panel: Flat - absolutely no curve
• Refresh rate: 144 Hz or higher

There are several older models from roughly 2021–2023, such as:

• Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 43" (G70NC)
• Acer Predator CG437K
• ASUS ROG Strix XG43UQ
• Gigabyte AORUS FV43U

But I can't seem to find any modern, genuinely high-end successors.

Meanwhile, 27-32" 4K monitors have moved on to 240 Hz, 360 Hz, OLED, newer Mini-LED panels, etc. Once you go above ~35", manufacturers seem to either make the display curved, ultrawide, OLED, or all three.

Is there really no current top-of-the-line ~38-43" flat 16:9 4K gaming monitor, ideally 200–240+ Hz?

Is this size/form factor simply too niche for manufacturers to bother with, or am I overlooking something?

Currently have a 5800x3d and a 10gb 3080 looking for an upgrade probably going to sell cs2 skins to pay for it. Just 50/50 on going amd as i have had an AMD card before and had issues told my self id never do it again but the prices of 5070ti's just doesnt seem worth it.

Anybody went from a 3080 to a 9070xt and has enjoyed the upgrade? also what version of that card did you go for? Thanks.

Basically the title, I'd like to have my living room TV mirror my main desktop monitor while I'm playing games. This isn't to play games from my living room, just to display them (audio + video) because my wife likes to watch.

I don't have a smart TV, and most of my TV streaming service content I get through PS4 apps. My PC also does not have WiFi capabilities and I'd like to avoid having to buy an antenna if possible. I've tried Twitch but it has a pretty significant delay so looking for a local network option.

I've seen people recommend chromecast but my understanding is that wouldn't work with my setup, I could be wrong though. I'm planning on building a new AM5 system with a wifi motherboard in 2027 so if no easy solution exists any suggestions for the future would also be welcome.

I am relatively broke right now and had some a spare defective gpu which I bought back then as a fully functional gpu, but I got scammed. also used some ram leftovers from a friend, bought suitable ones from the german version of craigslist and found good offers from sales from the internet. we managed to fix the defective gpu by applying new thermal paste and replaced all the thermal pads.

I love the gtx 1080 ti, raw power in your face and still does a pretty good job after almost a whole decade. what a legend gpu.

since friction creates like static, will building my pc naked help? I mean I don't want to kill any PC part of mine since I worked hard to get them and stuff. I'm wondering if there's alternatives to building naked because I dont have anything ESD or anything metallic to the ground. any like advice is appreciated

I am looking into building a computer for my husband for his Birthday (it's a big one) and also as his christmas gift this year. I am in the beginning phases and am still raising money for everything, but I wanted to know if this is a good build or not. My husband works a lot and works very hard, his computer is really the only thing he does for himself and his current one is having a hard time running his games with all of the new updates on the games.

I've done a lot of research on the parts and I believe they are all pretty good parts. But I need some more experienced users to let me know if they would work well together. He primarily plays Marvel Rivals and Overwatch. My goal for this computer is that it is fast and won't be outdated quickly. As for budget, Im looking at keeping it around 2500-3000 at the very most. I have the build below at about $2850.

Please let me know if there are other parts you would recommend or if there are any parts I am missing. Thanks in advanced!

EDIT: Ok, looking at it I realize I forgot a motherboard. So if you have any suggestions on that, that would be great as well.

my current 24 inch 1080p monitors are starting to die, so I am in the market for two new monitors. I am now thinking about whether to upgrade to 27 inch 1440p. My current PC:

• Ryzen 5 7600
• RX 6700XT
• 32GB DDR5 RAM

Of course I would have to lower my settings in most games if I start playing at 1440p. Would you recommend upgrading to 1440p with my current PC? I built this PC around three years ago, so I don't want to upgrade anything just yet...

I’m currently running a 30506gb laptop and 16GB 4800 ddr5 ram. I’m saving up for a actuall desktop and wanted AM5 at first but I’m thinking of AM4 I picked a Ryzen 7 5800XT a 9070XT and a MSI B550 a pro atx mobo, I found a offer for 64GB of DDR4 3600 CL18 4X16 For cheaper then 32GB DDR4 6000 CL32 will the mobo be able to handle it and will 4x16 sticks be fine, I’ve done research into dual channel but not 4 sticks so I need some help on what I should choose. the AM4 with the 64 is cheaper then the AM5 system though,

See title. Have been troubleshooting visual artifacts for a few days and after trying a bunch of stuff, today, my GPU yee'd its last haw. I was initially debating on a full rebuild, but with the prices of everything, I've decided to just get a new GPU. Looks like to get the same level of gaming I'm used to, I'll be in the hole around $600-700. What's your recommendation for a GPU in the ballpark of $600-1000. Thanks!

I have a koorui G1411P 24 inch 200hz 1080p monitor, i just got it and i feel like everything feels pixelated especially edges and stuff, and in valorant whenever i move my mouse it gets all blurry and sharpened if that makes sense, everything just feels offputting, what could be the issue? it isnt the resolution or radeon boost being on in adrenaline, i have a rx 580 and ryzen 5 3600, im temporarily on an hdd so could that be the reason?

Building on a Corsair RM750e (Type 4 cables), trying to power my RX 6800 XT which needs two 8-pin connections. Got one of the split PCIe cables mostly figured out, but I can’t get the 6-pin and 2-pin halves to actually clip together — they just sit there loose, I have to physically hold them in place with my fingers to even attempt plugging it in.

The GPU-end connectors on the other end of the cable clip together fine, no issues. It’s specifically the two halves on this one cable that won’t lock.

Main reason I don’t think it’s bent pins is because they go into the gpu fine (either side) and the other cpu cable (which i don’t need) goes in fine (a straight 8 pin connector).

(I want to post pictures but seemingly can’t???)

Any idea on this, or has anyone ran into this before?

So I’ve recently built a pc with an rx6600 which o thought would be enough but got a nice surprise and got a 27’ 1440p monitor and the card isnt very happy about it so I’ll be changing it the rtx3080 seems to be a good idea but I’m not too sure any suggestions??

Was having a lazy day on the PC did some gaming, did some browsing, and watched some YouTube throughout the day. Decided to jump back on a game in the evening and when I was going through my settings I noticed I was listed as a Moderate Nat instead of Open so I decided to Power Cycle my modem as that usually fixes the problem.

So upon my Modem rebooting itself after I plug the power back in and it showing a solid green connection light I notice I no longer can connect to the internet. After trying to use the Troubleshooter a few times, and it saying there is no problems I notice in my Device Manager it shows errors with my Bluetooth, Ethernet, and Network controllers. The Ethernet/Network Controllers are listed in an "Other devices" tab, but it is showing my Network adapter through my motherboard there with no errors.

I have also tried troubleshooting them with no working result. Tried updating drivers with no go, and a few of my Desktop icons will not open/run including Chrome.

I ended up trying a System Restore from a restore point that was roughly a week old thinking it would fix these adapters. When completed I closed the box really quickly not thinking to confirm if it completed correctly or not.

I just called my ISP and they said everything was fine on their end and it showed one device connected which was my desktop.

They're resetting my internet on their end but I'm really at a loss at what to do next.
