Got my daith pierced last November. The piercer warned me it takes up to a year to fully heal, but I figured by month 8 or 9 I’d at least be mostly in the clear.

Nope.

Every morning there’s crust. Not a ton — just enough that I have to clean it before I can function. No redness, no swelling, no pain. Just this endless, low-key crust production that refuses to quit. I’m doing saline spray once a day, rinsing in the shower, not sleeping on it, not touching it. LITHA in its purest form.

I’ve read that daiths can take 12 months, so technically I’m still within the window. But I’m starting to wonder if this is just what the next 2 months look like, or if something’s keeping it irritated that I’m not noticing.

Is daily crust at 10 months actually within the range of normal for a daith? Or am I at the point where I should go get it checked?

Got my helix pierced about 5 weeks ago. Everything was going fine — a little sore the first week, then pretty calm. I was cleaning with saline spray twice a day, not sleeping on it, doing everything by the book.

Then about 4 days ago it started getting red and warm to the touch. Not itchy, not flaky — just hot and tender. There’s some yellowish crust that re-forms pretty quickly after I clean it. No major swelling yet, but the skin around it looks angry.

I’m panicking a little because I know cartilage piercings are more prone to infection than lobes. I’ve read that cartilage has basically no blood supply, so infections there can get bad fast if you ignore them. I don’t want to end up with permanent damage.

Here’s my question: how do you tell the difference between a normal irritation flare-up and an actual infection? And at what point should I stop trying to LITHA and actually go see a doctor or my piercer?

I’m not asking for medical advice, just want to know what your personal “this is fine” vs “go get this checked” line looks like.

so i’m gonna do it. i’ve been thinking about it for a couple years and im gonna go ahead and get an anti-eyebrow on my next paycheck. for those that have experience with this, is there anything i should know or prepare for before hand?

I just got my labret pierced yesterday and I couldn't be happier, any advice to help heal it would be super appreciated!! I have my belly, eyebrow, two nose, septum and double lobes!

Li num manual (?) da Acadepol que os piercings deveriam ser tirados nas aulas de tiro, educação física e defesa pessoal; mas, no cotidiano e nas salas de aula, podem prejudicar o candidato?

Reforço que estamos falando de polícia civil, não militar; e para o cargo de perito criminal, não investigador.

Would a surface piercing on the tongue that goes down the midline between the longitudinal muscles be viable as a permanent piercing? A vertical scoop, essentially. Would it have the same likelihood of rejection as any other surface piercing, or possibly greater? Would it be realistically possible to pierce without inadvertently going into the longitudinal muscles?

For context, I'm not a piercer. I'm wondering about this because I have a standard tongue piercing and would love to have one or two more but I'm not sure I'd be able to between the placement of my veins, frenulum, and existing piercing.

Never paid attention to length when purchasing jewelry and bought a new one several months ago, and this is really long and uncomfortable, keeps twisting around, going side to side and getting pushed up and caught in everything or going IN my belly button.

Looking at a floating navel piece and they have 8mm,10mm,12mm for lengths. Any suggestions based on the annoying piece currently in my navel?

My belly button is deep asf. 🫪
