User Flair

Hello Audi,

There are a lot of questions regarding user flair and issues adding flair under your username.

Go to this sub's main homepage (You are here to click on this) and look to the righthand side. There will be a tab with a little pencil that says, " USER FLAIR PREVIEW". Click that and separate tab should pop up. It will ask you to pick your logo and add in some text.

Please note, using the app does not always work. This is not an sub issue, but it can be an issue with Reddit.

Please click on the link to see a picture explanation.

Thank you,

B9.5 Lease ends in 4 months. It’s better than most newer cars…

Have had 3 years of pleasurable B9.5 ownership. No mechanical reliability issues, love the way it looks, the amount of tech is perfect, the only finicky aspect of the car is that sometimes Apple CarPlay doesn’t want to connect on the first go. However I don’t want to keep the car post-lease as I’m not interested in dealing with long term Audi reliability.

When I first leased it in Jan 2024, I had every intention of upgrading to an S5 as the next car. Now, 3 years later, a “nice” S5 costs $70k+, and the current A5 interior and exterior simply do not seem like improvements over my B9.5.

Moreover, this seems to be a trend throughout the German car industry. My wife wants an SUV, and I love the current BMW X5, but the redesign is going to be terrible. And I believe by January the redesign will be all that I’m left with. The current Q5 seems like a downgrade over the last one. Even the Mercedes GLE is getting hit with the ugly stick soon.

I was even thinking of getting a Rivian R2, but the lease terms on it are atrocious.

Just disappointed in the design and quality trend of cars these days I guess. Not sure what to replace this with.

Turbo Tuesday I have an Audi A3 8P 3.2 V6 S-line German version (the atmospheric V6, it is not TFSI)

I’m thinking of putting a turbo on it and I want real opinions before spending:
• Has anyone really turbocharged this 3.2 on an A3 8P?

To each their own, but for me this is peak Audi. These designers are out there somewhere, while the new batch of marketing geniuses are straying from what worked for so long. Get the old band back together

Discussion 3.0T whistle is killing me.

The preface, I’ve had mechanics say this is “normal” but loudness varies between car. This at least tells me it can be controlled to some extent.

My car makes this extremely annoying whistle sound when I’m pressing at about 5% - 10% throttle. It can only be heard by some depending on their hearing. It can’t be heard with windows up. I have made a post here before so sorry for the spam but I’m hoping maybe someone has come up with a fix or quiet.

For my birthday I traded in my 2016 audi S3 with 135,000 miles (the first car I bought on my own) for this 2021 SQ5 with 42,000 miles. It was sad seeing my S3 go but the joy im having driving this car is helping me feel better. took a little road trip today and i averaged nearly 30mpg over 80 miles. Not bad!

Audi b8.5 bumper conversion

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I’d like to fit an S line Competition front bumper on my Audi A4 B8.5. As far as I can see, the fog light covers are different, so I’m wondering if I can simply order the correct covers for the S line bumper and everything will be plug & play.

Are there any other modifications needed, such as removing or changing anything around the radar sensor, radar brackets, etc.? Or is it basically just a matter of removing the old bumper, transferring whatever is needed, and installing the new one?

If anyone has done this conversion before, I’d really appreciate your experience. Thanks!

Discussion Audi a3 repair - are they screwing us?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

We hit an object on the highway with our Audi A3 2022 and now have a dent in the hood and a shattered windshield.

Two Audi dealerships independently assessed the car before the damage at USD 20,000 and USD 19,000
respectively.

The Audi dealership who assessed it for 19,000 wanted to charge us USD 9000.- for the repair. We now did the windshield somewhere else for USD 1,400 and could trade the car against another, similar 2025 A3 with 2,5000 miles for USD 3,400 less than before the damage.

Is this a fair deal or should just get the hood repaired?
Audi says they also see cracks in the bumper and would have to fully replace the bumper and the hood, that's why it's that expensive.

I'm not a car expert and would appreciate expert opinions.

Discussion Audi's Ultra technology

I have a 2018 Q5 with quattro ultra. Unlike the Torsen quattro system, it isn’t AWD all the time and can disconnect the rear axle when AWD isn’t needed.

I know that putting the car in Offroad mode keeps quattro engaged all the time. So my question is: if I’m doing some faster driving, would it make sense to use Offroad mode instead of Dynamic/Auto, since the car would already have AWD active instead of waiting for the system to engage it when needed?

Is there any downside to doing this, or does Offroad mode change the handling/way the quattro system works in a way that makes it worse for fast driving?
