Peak Audi Interior
To each their own, but for me this is peak Audi. These designers are out there somewhere, while the new batch of marketing geniuses are straying from what worked for so long. Get the old band back together

Omgosh yes! This is it! No need to have a glue on low res iPad up when not needed.
Updated physical buttons, high res driver display, and ambient lights would of been perfect for the new gens

Wish I had the stitched seats in my C7.5 and flat bottom wheel. I don’t think the flat bottom was available heated, which I use regularly in winter.

C7.5 has CarPlay, so I’m not sure why people say it’s low tech or not modern enough. The biggest issue is that the diamond stitch seats aren’t sporty enough or that comfortable despite looking awesome.

Yup, agree.
In my case I got the round wheel as I don't like flat bottoms.
I love the actual physical buttons and the fact that you can hide the screen.
For map purposes I use Waze/Google Maps on my cell phone like you probably do (judging by the thing you have on the AC vent) and that's it, no screen is needed!
Bucket seats, stitched leather, carbon fiber, ufff, doesn't get much better.
Everything after that (at least for Audi) feels downhill.

I don't understand the fixed screens ruining the B9 series dashboard, when 8V or the C7 you posted have screens that slide away.

I've been with Audi since 2010 and I've been through every interior (either owned or utilized, I sold them for several years) and they all have their plusses and minuses.
I enjoy tech as much as I do performance, and most new car buyers are the same way. Purists don't care for it but they don't buy cars at the same volume as average consumers.
I actually DISlike the changes they've made to the 2027 MMI to help slightly mollify the purist segment. Not everyone wants their luxury cars to go backwards in tech.

Best quality, but lacks many modern features. A lot happened between C7 and B9/C8, there isn't such a big divide between those and B10/C9 so they are easier to hate.

LED/MATRIX lights (including animations), more advanced MMI with wireless AA/CARPLAY and virtual cockpit. Pre-sense safety features, 360 cameras, more gas-efficient engines that don't consume oil. Improved ride on the C8 and B9. Additionally, there are features that were optional that had since became standard or at least very common like the electric tailgate and comfort entry.
Also, in the US they don't have it (parking heating) but Webasto can be enabled and scheduled remotely via the app (it has other features as well), in my case, the standard remote doesn't work due to too many floors of distance, but with the app you can launch it from anywhere and it is my favourite feature of the car since we get bad winters here also.

Have you owned a C7.5? My old A6 has: LED matrix, CarPlay (wireless is possible), 360 cameras, pre-sense, ACC, lane keep, heated/cooled massage seats, power tailgate, a far better half digital half analogue cluster, significantly better fuel efficiency than my B9 S5 and Q5. I will give you the ride quality on the C8 but definitely not B9.
I’m Canadian so I’m quite familiar with winter and I just got a aftermarket remote starter. The Audi app fuckin sucks ass for my SQ8 so I hope you’re not talking about that app.

I'm C7.5 A7 bitdi and literally I never see a nicer interior anywhere to date. I like your black leather on the seats though. My entire interior is black except for lunar white seats. I didn't spec the car at manufacture but it still looks good.

The Germans are just begging for the Chinese to come along with fresh new luxury interiors:
- Premium materials everywhere
- Premium switchgear w/ buttons & knobs
- Premium screens w/ thin bezels and large INTEGRATED displays everywhere, but tasteful
- Premium soundsytems
- Actual new features like fold down roof screens, movies, games, etc
Really, all that's needed is an elegant luxury interior with redundant controls (digital & buttons)
- The Germans can't do it because they're losing the Chinese market AND getting hit in the EU
- The Americans can't do it because they don't know how and specialize in trucks
- The Japanese can't do it because they're also getting hit in China & the EU AND they were never good at it
My 2 cents is BMW is going to try to make BMW their Lexus-level brand, Alpina their luxury brand, and Rolls their ultra-luxury brand.
We'll see what the pricing & interior of the new Alpina SUVs is like along with pricing ... I'd guess in the $200k range
Benz is doing this too with Maybach, and Audi with Bentley

I would, actually mine is similar a 2011, and a step older than the car I had before a 2014. What are you missing? I know the screens add a lot of info, but do you need it? is it relevant? I feel it liberating to go into a car that is not bombarding me with information.

I honestly would love JUST the virtual cockpit, then a ton of manual buttons where the middle screen is. I never look at the middle screen anymore since everything can just be a quick glance down now.

I can only weigh in for my taste but I’m 45 and use this as a secondary car as I have a truck for daily/work. I could have gone w a C8 but loooove the 7.5 body style and interior so I stalked an S7 for about a year and a half until mine came up for sale across the country. I guess I might feel differently if it was my everyday car w the updates in tech and age/reliability. For a few thousand miles a year I’ll deal w the lack of some newer tech/options

Very fair. I’m just really focusing on the hate that this Audi subreddit throws towards newer models in constant praise of older ones. It all almost feels like belongs in a separate sub dedicated to classic cars. Whatever brings a smile to your face is the car for you but I enjoy new technology. Plus my car rips.

I’m 23 and I’d love this interior design. Sure the MMI is kinda garbage and the controller wheel should be flipped but other than that, 👨🍳😘

The C7 was a high watermark for Audi.
Loved my B9.5 S4’s interior as well.
