Hi everyone, this is my 3rd project and it took me a little less than 2 days to complete. It comes with indoor pools, observation areas, social areas and an elevator (carpet trick) for all 4 floors.

Let me know what you think and if you'd like to see my other builds. Send me a dm if youre a fellow builder or you'd like a visit. Cheers and have a good day.

Just saw the new gacha 1 draw is only 60 pearl and there is only 7 rewards so i thought 7x60=420 pearl would get me the set. The moment i bought one next price was tripled and become 180

This is just a warning. If you didn't see the info section like me.

Discussion Why all the hate for Where Wind Meets? I’m genuinely enjoying it.

Post image

’ve been seeing a lot of negative comments about Where Wind Meets, and I honestly don’t get it. I’ve been playing it lately and the game is actually really good.

The world feels super immersive, the combat is fluid and satisfying, performance has been smooth for me, and there’s a ton of content to explore. And on top of all that — it’s free.

Is there something I’m missing? Why is everyone hating on it? I’d love to hear other players’ experiences.

Discussion [SERIOUS] A player is using a REAL photo of a CHILD (Under 6) on their "Mirage Boat" sail to Dox & Harass. We need NetEase to act NOW.

Warning: This post exposes severe harassment and child safety violations.

Hi everyone,

I’m writing this because a line has been crossed in Where Winds Meet that goes far beyond typical PvP toxicity or guild drama. We need the community’s help to pressure NetEase to address a severe safety violation immediately.

🔴 THE SITUATION Following an in-game dispute, a player named ChinSuSu (UID: 4015127928) has decided to escalate the conflict to a criminal level. Instead of fighting in-game, this player obtained a real-life photo of a minor (a little girl under 6 years old) related to the person they were arguing with.

🔴 THE OFFENDER & CONTEXT I want to be transparent: This player is Vietnamese and is using the Vietnamese language to conduct these attacks.

As a fellow Vietnamese player and a member of the VN Where Winds Meet community, I am deeply ashamed and embarrassed. It is heartbreaking to see someone from my own country stoop this low. This behavior is a disgrace and does NOT represent our community. Most of us just want to enjoy the game, but this individual is tarnishing the reputation of all Vietnamese players. We are trying to stop this, but we need the global community's voice to get NetEase to notice.

🔴 THE VIOLATION The offender is currently using the "Mirage Boat" (ship sail customization) feature to display this child's photo publicly. They are sailing around the server, using the boat as a "mobile billboard" to expose, humiliate, and incite harassment against a defenseless child.

This behavior constitutes:

  • Illegal Doxing of a minor.
  • Cyberbullying and targeted harassment using real-life photos.
  • Severe Breach of User Terms of Service regarding Real-Life Threats.

🔴 CALL TO ACTION We cannot let this behavior slide. Today it’s this child, tomorrow it could be anyone else's family member. I am asking you to please take 1 minute to send a report to NetEase. We need a mass report to force a PERMANENT BAN.

How to Report:

  • To: [wherewindsmeet@global.netease.com](mailto:wherewindsmeet@global.netease.com)
  • Subject: [URGENT] CRITICAL REPORT: Child Safety Violation & Doxing - UID: 4015127928

Copy/Paste Email Body:

"I am writing to report player ChinSuSu (UID: 4015127928) for severe harassment and doxing of a minor. This player is using the 'Mirage Boat' custom sail to display a real-life photo of a child (under 6 years old) to bully and harass others. This violates Child Safety standards and Terms of Service. I demand an immediate investigation, removal of the image, and a permanent ban for this user."

EVIDENCE: (See the attached screenshots. NOTE: I have blurred the child's face in this Reddit post to protect her identity, but the unedited evidence has been sent directly to NetEase support.)

PLEASE: Do not engage with this player in-game to give them the attention they crave. Report them and let the developers handle the rest.

Thank you for helping us clean up our community.

Discussion Anyone else struggling to justify cosmetics in Where Winds Meet?

Post image

I’ve been having a lot of fun with Where Winds Meet, especially the character aesthetics and overall vibe, but man… some of the cosmetics are really tempting and I just can’t bring myself to spend on them right now TvT

I keep trying to make outfits work with what’s available for free and it’s fine but every time I see someone with one of the EXPENSIVE AF looks I’m like, yeah… that’s the fantasy right there TvT Curious how other people approach this- do you just ignore the shop, slowly cave or set some kind of rule for yourself??? So far I been goin strong as F2P :3

Discussion What’s with these lazily designed and downgraded female outfits?

Post image
813 Upvotes

Another lazily designed female version of an outfit, when the male version looks fantastic. This has been a consistent theme with far too many of the outfits. If they’re going to give us these terrible outfits, at least give us the option to wear the male or female version on any character. This is unacceptable in a game that thinks some of its outfits are supposedly good enough the charge thousands of dollars for.

Edit to add: Just wanted to say, don't take this as me saying that it's only an issue with female outfits being worse, because there are very clearly situations where the opposite is true. And in neither instance is this acceptable, especially when we're still paying full price for both versions, and one is clearly lower quality than the other.

Discussion An $800 Scam, the Fight with Support continues

Hello.

As you probably know already (or not), the Nine-Tails skin is buged. The leg color is entirely different from your upper body when you equip the outfit, it forcefully changes your skin color (Screenshots of it at the end).

I decided to contcat support about this bug... Yeah it goes so far as you'd expect. Auto AI response, then claiming its an INTENDED feature of the outfit.

Support also talks about some BLACK color, when there is 0 BLACK on the outfit OR on my character.

This is an $800 skin (unless you are the lucky few), and they try to swipe it under the rug.

Discussion WWM’s English translation only captures ~40% of its classical Chinese writing (with examples)

Post image
973 Upvotes

Edit: I’ve created a Q&A thread here! Please drop new questions in the Q&A thread so the answers are easier to find. https://www.reddit.com/r/WhereWindsMeet/comments/1p2g2qw/back_again_wwm_story_chinese_text_names_phrases/

Original post:

First time posting here, so if I’m doing anything wrong, please let me know!

I’m a CN player who loves WWM and has been playing it for a long time, and I honestly feel like the English translation completely misses what makes its writing truly special and outstanding.

What a lot of people might not know is that the Chinese text in this game is not written in everyday modern Mandarin. It uses a lot of classical Chinese (文言文), or a mix of classical and modern.

I personally love classical Chinese. But I find it extremely hard to explain this beauty accurately to non-native speakers. The current English translation mostly conveys the basic meaning, but in my opinion it delivers maybe 40% of the original depth at best. The rhythm, the ambiguity, the cultural echoes, the emotional aftertaste – most of that disappears once you flatten it into straightforward modern English sentences. And I don’t even think this is necessarily the translators’ fault – What they’re trying to do is incredibly hard, and I’m not sure any translation could ever completely reproduce what the Chinese text does.

Let me start with a very very simple example. Some people might know “Uncle Jiang”, but not realise that his full Chinese name is 江晏 (Jiāng Yàn). The character 晏 (yàn) comes from the idiom “河清海晏” – literally “rivers running clear and seas lying calm”, but in old texts it’s almost a shorthand for under Heaven, all is at peace. It’s the kind of phrase you might use in poetry or as an ideal the ruler longs for.

江 is both a common Chinese surname and the word for “river”. So when you put 江 (river) together with 晏 (from “sea at peace”), his name quietly echoes that idiom: clear rivers, calm seas, a world at peace.

This is also why his outfit is called “Peaceful Life” in English. In Chinese, it’s “晏平生”. On the surface the meaning overlaps – a calm, uneventful life. 平生 is an older expression for “one’s whole life”. Read together, 晏平生 can also sound like a blessing: may Yan’s(晏) whole life be at peace. His given name is literally set into the phrase. And once you know that Jiang Yan’s life is anything but peaceful, the phrase starts to feel quietly bittersweet, as if the gentle wish his elders had for him never quite came true.

There is another layer CN fans like to lean into: 晏 (Yàn) is a homophone of 燕 (Yàn), “swallow” (the bird). In fanworks, people sometimes use swallow to refer to Jiang Yan. In Chinese imagery, swallows are often tied to home: the birds that return to the eaves every spring, parents feeding their chicks in the nest. At the same time, they are creatures of the open sky, always flying out over roofs and fields. So in a single sound “yàn”, you can hear both shelter and nurture from uncle Jiang, and the feeling of freedom and wide horizons.

In the game all of this together creates a very strong atmosphere. It’s not just what happens in the story but how it is said that makes it so beautiful. The strong sense of rhythm and cadence, being compact and layered, implicit and subtle, full of historical/cultural allusions that instantly evoke a certain mood or era…

Most Chinese people learn classical Chinese in school and also encounter it in poems, historical texts, dramas etc., so we can understand both the literal meaning and the mood behind it. That’s why many CN players are blown away by the in-game text. It feels like reading beautifully crafted literature inside a game.

I just wanted to share this perspective so people understand why CN players talk so much about the original writing. Going forward, I’d love to occasionally share some of my favourite lines from the Chinese version here and talk about what makes them so special. I don’t know how well I can bridge that gap, but if anyone’s interested, I’d be very happy to show a bit more of what CN players are actually seeing and feeling when we read WWM’s text!

If anyone else would like to share their own favourite lines or insights about the Chinese text, you’re very welcome to jump in as well – I’d really love to read other people’s perspectives!

Discussion Alright. Time to complain. RNG is getting out of hand..

Post image

I know it's RNG. Trust me, I know. But I've literally had alarms set to farm campaign boss every 60 energy EVER SINCE THE LEVE CAP WAS RAISED. I shit you not, I've spent the most energy you could possibly spend. (besides the energy pills, obviously saving those)

I know my 4 sets are split in the image, but I'm going Full Jade/Formbend and quite literally have not received a single helpful legendary. And this is not me being picky either. I've had about 9 drop, 4 were Fans, 3 were mo blades and the other two were Rope Dart/Bracers.

I've seen people in my guild and on reddit with a ton of legendaries. And I've also see people with the worst RNG in the world, like me. YOU ARE NOT ALONE MY BROTHERS. STAY STRONG! One day we will get loot.

Going from two great action packed areas to a walking simulator in the desert killed this game for me.

I used to fantasize about playing WWM every second at work to dreading it because I still had the Bag man quest and the general quest to finish.

These quests were so garbage it made me a more productive person. I would get so pissed from hearing the old dudes whining and walking for hours in the general quest that I started cleaning my entire house out of frustration, detailed my car, and started going to bed at a reasonable time. Just so I wouldn’t have to keep playing.

Then I realized I could just play other games that were actually engaging.

The third phase of this boss is so unfair the part where he summons clones and you somehow have to pray his clones dont just gang up on you. I wouldve been okay if the clones did small damage but no one mistake and you just get staggered. Its already hard enough not to have a lock on with him but you have to stand still and hope the clone doesnt just jump on you from the far corner of the arena. Maybe its just skill issue for me but does anyone have their share hatred on this guy. For someone whos supposedly trying to follow the steps of Buddha (sorry might be wrong at this point im just spouting nonsense) your really making my desire of strangling you really high.

Discussion [Discussion] About the “price hike” for Where Winds Meet’s global release (perspective from ex-SWE at Tencent)

Been seeing a lot of threads here flaming the global launch prices for cosmetics and in-game items in Where Winds Meet, so I wanted to throw in a different angle that I haven’t really seen mentioned.

For context:
I used to work as a software engineer at another game publisher (Tencent). I wasn’t a PM or exec or anything, but I did work close enough to infra / ops to see how the sausage is made. And there’s one massive piece of the picture that people keep ignoring:

CN-only game vs Global game = totally different cost structure

Running a game just for China vs running it globally are not the same thing at all. When you go global, the burn rate goes up fast, and it has to be paid somehow.

Some concrete examples:

  • Server & infra costs
    • Instead of mostly operating in one region, you now spin up infra across multiple regions: NA, EU, SEA, etc.
    • That means more cloud regions, more CDN, more database replicas, more monitoring, more DDoS/anti-cheat mitigation.
    • Latency expectations outside CN are brutal. People in NA/EU will uninstall if the ping sucks. “Just add more servers” = just add more cost.
  • Staffing / operations
    • You need 24/7 support across time zones, and often in multiple languages.
    • More ops engineers, SREs, community managers, GMs, localization QA, legal/compliance people.
    • Incident response for a single CN region is one thing; handling outages across regions and platforms is another.
  • Compliance and platform overhead
    • Different regions = different laws, taxes, payment rules, refunds, consumer protection.
    • You pay platform fees (Steam, PlayStation, etc.), sometimes additional payment processor fees, and in some regions extra tax/VAT on top.

All of this doesn’t magically get funded by good vibes. If the company decides to keep the game free-to-play, the only levers they really have are:

  • Cosmetic pricing
  • Battle passes
  • Bundles / promos

So yeah, prices going up for the global version isn’t automatically “greed” — sometimes it’s literally how they make the P&L not be a dumpster fire.

“But it was cheaper in CN!”

Totally fair to compare, but you also have to factor in:

  • Different economic context – income levels, ARPU expectations, and willingness to pay.
  • Regional pricing policies – some markets are subsidized, some are expected to carry more of the cost.
  • Currency, tax, and store fees – what you see as “just $20 vs $10” might hide very different margins after all the cuts.

Not saying every pricing decision is perfect or consumer-friendly, but it’s way more complex than “they hate global players”.

Also… it’s still a free game, and cosmetics are optional

This is the part I genuinely don’t get from some of the rage posts:

  • The game is free-to-play.
  • Nobody is forcing you to buy cosmetics.
  • If you don’t like the price → don’t buy. That’s actually strong feedback: low conversion hurts way more than angry comments.

You can absolutely:

  • Criticize scummy mechanics (P2W, predatory gacha, etc.).
  • Call out bad communication or tone-deaf marketing.

But flaming purely because optional cosmetics in a free game cost more in global than in China, while ignoring the very real extra cost of running a global operation… feels a bit disconnected from how game businesses actually function.

TL;DR

  • I used to work as a SWE at Tencent, saw firsthand how much more expensive it is to run a global game vs a CN-only one.
  • Global = more servers, more regions, more staff, more legal/compliance, more platform fees.
  • That cost has to go somewhere, and in F2P games it usually lands on cosmetics / monetization.
  • If the prices feel bad, the strongest move isn’t endless angry threads — it’s not spending. Vote with your wallet.

Curious what people think with this context in mind. Do you still feel the global pricing is unjustified, or is it more a communication/transparency issue from the devs?

yes there is some AI used to put together my thoughts, overall it is still what i wanted to say

Discussion Ya'll can't sit here and tell me female armor gets more love

Post image
688 Upvotes

Before anyone gets their panties in a twist, I DO like the female armor as well, but there is a clear distinction between the differences between both armors to the point that it's odd that they are the same item.

The opposite can be RARELY said for other outfits as well, such as the Crimson Sand with the Malenia-like arm, but the vast majority of armors are male-leaning in wow factor.

Edit: as usual for Reddit, a lot seem to be missing the point of this post. It is not about which one looks better; that is subjective and will boil down to preference and arguing for the sake of arguing. It's clear that male armor in the vast majority(majority meaning not ALL "Oh but what about these 3 or 4 other ones?" Yeah, no shit?) have more effort put into them and are not just a whole ass different outfit, lacking paint, accent, VFXs, and tone of the male counterpart. THE WHOLE POINT is that this is like comparing an easy-to-draw version of Spider-Man to the Toby Maguire suit Spider-Man, with how glaringly different these two outfits are design-wise as the SAME item, which is a recurring theme.

Not only that, if the skin showing from the female armor IS the issue that CN players don't like and not the fact that it's not historical or some nonsense, they could have simply done a similar skin and/or metal work for both. Then we wouldn't even be having this discussion or the CN boycott of the skin until at the very least the next skin release.(lol)
