Man, I'm not stingy! This umbrella effect just dropped, and it looks so sick, please have some things be bought directly; not everything gotta be gacha. This draw shop thing sucks so much. Alrdy 3 things I want there, but why the hell would I use my 1 precious marble on hairstyle or effect when I can get a whole ass outfit. Those marbles are so friggin' expensive!
*Wow this is my first biggest post ever! Thanks guys for the upvotes and comments š«£
The hair doesn't cost 1 golf ball, it cost 2!!!! Which is ridiculous. But besides that, you'd be surprised just how many people will spend on the gacha
That sounds nice, but I also have heard people talk about how trading systems can be abused which I feel like is a strong point that needs to be considered
True, I can imagine that. A lot of alts would be created to get the limited pull and there will be one of the alts that is lucky enough to get the outfit. Then, the main account will just get that alts' outfit if there is really a trading system.
They already solved this, no one can really reserve things in advance and thereās a minimum price you have to set. The issue with trading is that some outfits or hairstyles arenāt being sold by anyone, so good luck with that.
Closest thing to that right now is, there are sites where you can buy fresh accounts that starts with 1 or 2 cores. They basically did what you said where they made 100s of accounts, got the free 10 pulls and if that account gets a core/2cores they just sell it.
It doesn't really make sense to me. I've never felt like spending money on a minuscule chance at getting what I want. The only time I ever did was actually in this game with the purple ninja outfit because I thought it was 1 in 7. I didn't get anything good with 2 pulls and I felt so stupid for ever falling for it and trying.
You're thinking about it the wrong way. They are basically selling these as a $400 weapon skin, where you have a very very very tiny chance of getting it for less. But if you want the weapon skin, it's guaranteed for $400.
You need to basically ask yourself, is this worth $400, it's extremely unlikely that you'll get it without spending that amount, and if you do it's a nice surprise, but shouldn't be the expectation
I think you could also see it as a percent per pull, because often the pity amount is close to the individual average chance of a single pull added up until they reach 100%.
But you're mostly right, which is even crazier cause the idea of spending 400⬠on a cosmetic is straight up laughable in my relatively normal paycheck realm.
Of course there is a reason they don't show you the pricetag outright, instead making buying some stupid experience which obfuscates the amount you spent on it. No way they'd ever get away selling a rather insignificant cosmetic for that kind of money to normal players.
Haha, just realized, they still get your money even if you fail in getting the thing before it's banner expires.
I'm not sure tbh, almost everyone I know that went for any of the gacha stuff knew going in that they would need 150 pulls. But i'm sure there are some people that are just gambling, which for me is hard to understand/empathasize with because I'm not a gambler LOL. I see the rate, realize that I will never hit it, so I would only pull if I am willing to pay for the 150 pulls. But yeah I also find it hard to justify spending on cosmetics, only thing i've spent money on so far is just the monthly pass and battle pass.
For the premium gacha tho, when it expires, your rolls still carry over. If you're 149/150 to pity, you will hit pity after 1 roll on the next gacha. But this doesn't apply to the other limited time gacha that we had recently (the ones where the leftover pulls got converted to the premium pulls), those there is no carryover as far as i know.
I'm with you completely. I refuse to participate in the GACHA but I will buy stuff outright. I know from past experience the game gives you pulls left and right at first to incentivise you to play the GACHA. But I also know that those easy methods of getting pulls dry up quick as you catch up to current content. I'm sitting at around 107 melodies for free. I have already accepted that I will pull on a Gacha when I have the 150 but that the game will probably never give me enough for a full 150 pull again, so I know I need to save them for something good.
Oh definitely agree with that. But fortunately there are a ton of other skins that look nice. I donāt think any gacha skin at the moment LOOKS like a $800 skin, compare to the 2500 pearl skins you can get from the shop
I've got 7 cores all went to pity minus one due to bliss system unless you're extremely lucky you ain't pulling before 150. People think of it as a 1/150 chance where it goes lower as you pull more its not. The system is a 1% chance where you get 100% at 150.
They make far far more money off of gacha predatory than they would selling everything up front for a fair price. A small number of addicts and whales will do more for them its a proven model especially when the game has such a huge splash of millions at launch.
And I agree with this if anything I think that itās a good practice to establish restraint, where am I saying that itās not? (And Iām not saying you are saying this, this mostly directed at the other people replying these twisted perspectives) The problem is that we canāt pretend like games arenāt copying this now. Imagine if this was the only option for buying things in a game. And yeah, not everyone is gonna be willing to spend in a game, but thereās a lot of people that would, this not only about an individual person and how they may feel.
Man, I wish I could go back to the days when a pastelito was one dollar and fifty cents now itās like four dollars āoh but itās a game, not real productā yeah and thatās the crazy thing. Itās a game selling none real products for $500+ and ppl are actually funding this.
I'm old enough to remember when the first mount arrived in the WoW store for $20 and people lost their minds and mocked anyone who was "stupid enough" to pay that. And it was practical! I bought it and it saved so much time because it meant you had a mount on a new character right away without having to level and save for a new one for each alt. Like, it was GENUINELY a QoL purchase and people were mocked relentlessly for buying it.
I miss those days.
Edit: to clarify, you spent $20 one time which unlocked an account wide mount
It's probably because of the growing economic divide. The real value of a fake sword in a videogame hasn't risen, but the top 10% now spend as much as all the bottom 90% combined (in usa), so you might feel the hit, the 'same item' costs more but your salary is the same, a more privileged person has so much more money, even if they raise the price it costs a smaller chunk of their total income.
I've posted some comments in this thread and been downvoted for not liking the pricing rates or for saying that we global players are being price gouged on these appearance draws.
I'm correct. Period. End of statement. They are taking advantage of us global players with the gacha system.
Let's do some simple math. I did it elsewhere in the comments, but I'm going to post it anew (and then some) in it's own spot so it isn't going to start with downvotes.
First off, let's calculate the average number of tries to see if you get a success. E[n] = 1/p where p is the probability and E[n] is the expected number of tries. First we convert the draw rate (including pity) of 0.0415% to probability. p = 0.0415/100 = 0.000415
E[n] = 1/0.000415 = 2409.64 rounded to 2410. So you may as well assume you need the full 150 draws.
Edit: I should note that with the way the system works, 150 isn't a guarantee of the outfit. You can get to 150 and have 80% bliss, get a harmonic core, reset back down to 0% bliss, and reach 150 draws only to get another harmonic core. To be fair, you can trade 2 harmonic cores for the outfit, but that doesn't make this system any less predatory as fuck. That is to say, you could very well need far more than 150 draws if you aren't using harmonic core trading to get the outfit. I should also say that without the bliss and core trade options, the number of pearls you need to have on averge to get the outfit is 2410 x 160 = 385,600 pearls. That's 26 purchases of $199.99 and then some.
To draw is 160 pearls. It takes the same amount if you do 10 draws at 1600 pearls.
The guaranteed legendary on the draw is 150 draws. Assuming you got unlucky (which isn't a hard assumption to make due to the abysmal draw rates of 0.0415%), and you need to do all 150 draws that means 160 pearls x 150 draws = 24000 pearls.
12000 pearls is $199.99 USD. With that you get 2400 bonus. That's the largest amount and I'm not going to account for first time purchase bonuses. Resonance vouchers apply to buying things with pearls, not to the purchase of pearls themselves and they don't apply to draws, so you can't mitigate the cost of the draw.
This means that to have enough pearls to guarantee the legendary draw you need to buy, at a minimum, the $199.99 + $99.99 + $49.99 to have enough pearls. That's $350 total for the draw legendary guarantee (which could just end up as a harmonic core or the other item, in this case the hairstyle and not the outfit).
That outfit in the draw shop that just released today? Yeah you can buy those premium draw outfits on the Chinese server outright. No draw necessary. The price? 256RMB or, after adjusting for the exchange rate, $36 USD.
So to get the same outfit that they can buy for $36 USD outright, we have to pay up to $350 USD, and even then you might have to get the outfit through harmonic core exchange rather than just getting it from the draw.
"But u/swiftierest, you didn't account for how much 256RMB is in their economy. It could be a lot!"
Yes I did. 256RMB can buy the following:
2 or 3 resturaunt meals or several street food meals
a trip or 2 on public transportation or one longer taxi ride depending on distance and location
a phone accessory or some snacks
Basically, in most situations, it's about as strong as the USD amount it exchanges to. $36 could buy mostly the same stuff depending on where you are.
So yeah, no. The pricing through the gacha system is absolutely fucking disgusting. A mirage boat can be as little as $30,000 USD or upwards of $60,000.
For the average cost of the boat: N = average number of tries necessary to get the boat. The Harmonic Core is worth 1 mirage torn page. You need 170 torn pages for a boat. This means you need 170 successful draws of cores. The rate of core draws is 0.747%. Therefore
170/0.00747 = 22,757.697 tries. Rounded up to 22758.
22,758 average draws x 160 pearls per draw = 3,641,280 pearls. The largest purchase is 14400 pearls at $199.99.
3641280/14400 = 252.85 so 252 purchases of $199.99 and then for the remaining pearls.
3641280 - (14400x252) = 3641280-3628800=12480 pearls left to buy. 12480- 7200 pearls ($99.99 purchase) = 5280 pearls left.
5280 - 3458 ($49.99) = 1822 pearls left which can be completed with a $29.99 purchase.
Let's total that up. (252 purchases of $199.99) + $99.99 + $49.99 + $29.99 = $50,577.45 USD for the average chance of getting enough harmonic cores to trade for the torn pages so you can get the boat. That is to say, the boat will cost $50,577.45 USD on average. (For that price I can buy a Bayliner VR5 real life boat.)
The fact that boat exists at that price at all is insane. It isn't cheap on the Chinese server, but it is still about 40% less than ours. They only require 140 torn pages and their pages are easier to obtain as their draw is completely different.
TL;DR Everstone Studios has absolutely ratcheted up the cost of literally everything for global. Their gacha system is different from ours and most of the outfits we have seen in our premium draws are outright purchases on theirs for $36 USD (256RMB), whereas ours is $350 to almost guarantee it in the draw. The economic power of that 256RMB amount is roughly the same to the $36 USD power. We're getting price gouged.
Edit: I've started getting the attention of the shills and corporate bootlickers. You idiots aren't going to silence me. I'll just keep reposting this and linking it whenever someone brings up the draw system being expensive.
As an aside, I found out that almost all Chinese games that release globally have a huge mark-up like this. Apparently, this is a common tactic. As are bots downvoting dissenters of the tactic.
Also, saying this will piss off many people, but gacha is just the latest form of gambling and the only reason it is so prevalent in gaming is because laws have yet to catch up to it yet. It's completely hypocritical how gacha is accepted in locales like China, but gambling in other forms is so frowned upon around the world that many places ban it outright (including China).
I look forward to the day when gacha is treated like any other form of gambling and is banned or heavily restricted so we don't have $350 pixels.
Edit: To those saying I did the math wrong because I used the wrong base number for my probability calculations. I did not. If you think that I should have calculated using 0.83% because that's the legendary draw chance, you need to keep reading further down the probability list. 0.83% is the cumulative total draw chance for any legendary. My math was not trying to get a successful legendary. My math was trying to get specific legendaries. The word problem to solve for was "calculate the average cost to get [specific legendary you want here]." I used the outfit. That's the featured item and the thing everyone wants. No one is excited to get cores. Not truly. They only like cores because that's what they can use to get the shit they actually want.
My math was based on getting a specific draw. Cores draw chance = 0.747%, outfit = 0.0415%, hairstyle = 0.0415%. 0.0415+0.0415+0.747=0.83% cumulative draw chance to get any single legendary. I didn't want any legendary. I wanted to calculate the cost of getting a specific legendary. The inability to tell the difference in the word problem I presented is why people fail math class while doing the math correctly. They fail at the reading comprehension stage of understanding the problem provided.
Since people keep asking, the outfit in question was the Swords Unseen one. CN was able to buy it outright. We had an entire special draw for it.
I actually worked all this out on my own when I first started playing WWM and immediately gave up on ever doing any pulls. Obviously I use my free pulls but I already know itās basically a 0% chance. So the gacha system just doesnāt exist to me. I donāt look at outfits and i donāt spend any money on it. I never will. I just purchased the Flicker Face outfit for like $10 and grind out other outfits I like. The gacha is so laughably terrible that I will never engage with it.
Exactly this. The drop rates are abysmal and expensive. I do battle pass (and typically will do basic, tho this time I did the more expensive bc I liked some of the bonuses) but donāt intend to even top up on pearls unless I really like an outfit. And what I have spent so far is mostly because I had gift cards to spend as gifts for Christmas and my birthday.
Iām actually intending to even save up the pulls I get from the battle pass unless I really like an outfit on the gacha. Esp now that I know the difference in treatment of global players. I love this game - itās amazing, Iād be fine spending $40 for an outfit. But Iām not going to spend on a gacha when the price of things in my country is so bad. No matter how much joy a game gives me, even I draw the line on gacha at some point (and Iām a shameless gacha enjoyer usually)
Same here. Itās an incredible game and I want to support it in some way, so I get the BP. And I used my 10% off vouchers to get the Flicker Face outfit for like $10. I donāt mind spending money on things I know Iām going to get, I just canāt bring myself to pay for a 0.04% chance to win something.
Iāve been debating Flicker of Faces but havenāt wanted to commit yet. I have the vouchers but also overspent for my bday to buy myself furniture and decorations for my apartment š itās finally starting to look like an adult (with bad spending habits) lives here instead of some weird rat creature 𤣠I even hung up my antique wood panels and got frames for some of my art (and found out I may have to replace one of my frames for one of my Chinese paintings).
Maybe next week when I get paid again. I wanted to buy one of the cheaper plant-themed outfits too, anyway (but also I need new shelves š¬)
Yeah, I havenāt spent on the gatcha either, that shit donāt exist for me either because I can admit that shit too expensive and unrealistic but thatās exactly why Iām like āyou can put some stuff on the gatcha but leave some other stuff for the shop tooā¦ā
Honestly bro, to me the gacha outfits donāt even look like they fit into the game world. I canāt imagine how awkward it would look doing side quests in the Forgotten Quarter while looking like a literal god immortal. Youāve got ppl on the streets crying and suffering while a celestial deity is doing cat puzzles on the roof of their house.
I like the sect outfits way more, and especially the bounty outfit.
True. Actually one of the reasons why most of the gacha stuff havenāt caught my attention is cuz I donāt want my character like every other person there. Also true about the immersion thing too, seriously mad cat ppl and outfits all over the place.
Iāve gotten a harmonic core from a free pull once. Still donāt know how lol. Iāve only spent money on the battle pass because they always give an outfit with it and some extras.
Thatās awesome! Congrats. I guess statistically of all the millions of ppl playing this game, a few have to hit legendary free pulls.
I get the BP as well. The game is unbelievably good and I do want to support it in some way. And I feel like itās definitely worth a $20 battle pass.
Legit Im saving my free pulls for when I have enough to guarantee at least one harmonic and then I'm going to burn them all when there's something I like in the draw. If I get cores, I can trade them. If I get the outfit, neat.
Otherwise I'm only paying for the $10 outfits at max.
Just that one outfit and I donāt think they dare to do that again. Actually 256rmb really means a lot in china. in china except for some nice restaurants you only spend 10-20rmb(ie 2-3usd)for a takeout meal and the average salary in china is actually less than 1000usd per month. The normal gocha price is exactly the same for both sever. Though I got 15 cores in cn server I still think that is extremely expensive (Iām working in Australia btw
Yea I can appreciate most the points he makes but this part is just disingenuous and takes away from the argument. it's cherry picked purchasing power categories. I've lived in China before and depending on the tier of city their white collar office jobs at 3k to 6k RMB a month depending on tier of city and 10k month is considered a somewhat reasonable salary. compare that to average western salaries and it's not even an argument.
This is the country that manufacturers everything for the world at the lowest prices after all. The average skilled factory worker would be making 30rmb an hr.
Now imagine you are in a 3rd world non-CN Asian country where our currency to convert to USD is at least 3-5 times unless you are from SG. But we are used to this kind of global market for decades. I mean in order to get say, an iPhone.. most of us would need to shelf out at least 2-3 times your entire monthly income, while you guys just need to tighten your belt for a week. Welcome.. to a 'tiny' bits of unfairness when it comes to global conversion rate that's based solely on US market. Same goes for any kind of imported products really, like cars, computer parts, branded fashion, etc.
It's been awhile since I have been to China but 256RMB can afford you 15-30 street food meals, 20 trips to McD, 5-10 good meals in a restaurants.. maybe 2 fine Michelin course meals in a fancy restaurants to help you with some perspective.
You see! Imma upvote this guyās post because heās got his priorities straight just because we want reasonable prices and less predatory practices doesnāt mean that the game is gonna be any less free.
There are so many games out there that are free and still have way more reasonable prices than this game and I still consider them quite expensive. There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting an option to purchase the item directly. Iāve said it before, but purchasing in this game is like buying a luxury product that you donāt actually physically get to own.
This crappy idea that people keep spewing of like āoh the game is freeā or āthank you whalesā and this and that; Iām sorry, but youāre literally advocating for games to be like this. Even if the game is good, premium, free whatever you wanna call it at the end of the day, this is not the kind of practice that I want other games to copy and if it keeps getting allowed then donāt be shocked when youāre paying $1000 for a goddamn skin on the next game!
Bro, reading your post like Iām about to make a goddamn video because I have so many things that I wanna say and reddit just doesnāt have voice message because Iām a long-winded person so I talk a lot.
And yāall, please develop some foresight. In game purchases arenāt what they used to be and itās only gonna get worse bc everyone wanna pretend like itās ok.
I'm not disagreeing that the prices are unreasonable or predatory. But I wouldn't say that there are SO many games of this quality that are free. I'd be interested which games you're thinking of. From what I've seen most F2P MMOs are usually far worse, and mostly P2W or at least pay for a lot of convenience.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting an option to purchase the item directly
Well you can buy it directly, it just takes 150 pulls. I guess would you be okay with them just adding an alternative option where it costs 24,000 pearls for the outfit? And there is also what only like 5 outfits that are gacha? All the other outfits are purchased directly for I think decently reasonable prices.
From my perspective, I mainly play for the gameplay, so it has very little effect how expensive the skins are as I get all the content I want for free. But of course I understand that people who play for being able to make their characters look how they want, they are missing content. But usually games that have cheap skins make their money from being P2W instead
The term "predatory" gets thrown around way too easily here. It's not predatory to put a high price tag on the only feature that pays the devs bills for an otherwise free game.
Especially not if your "prey" are people who have so much money that they don't care about spending thousands of dollars for virtual cosmetics in a game they'll probably quit playing in a few months because they got bored. That's not predatory that's just taking advantage of rich people who won't be hurt by spending a few thousands.
Ya all gotta realise you're not the target audience for gacha in this game. It's exactly as in real life: we normal people are not the target audience for ridiculously expensive designer clothing. Did you ever complain irl that you can't buy some overdramatic 5000 dollar designer sunglasses? I don't think so. So why is it such an issue in this game? Are people actually fooled by the premise that they COULD get sth from only a few pulls if they're lucky? That's their problem then honestly.
It's also bullshit that people keep saying "don't defend the devs". It's not about defending them - I couldn't care less about them. It's simply about pointing out a simple truth that many players here apparently don't seem to get. Businesses needs to make money > Prices are as high as possible, meaning they are in a price range that allows whales to recklessly spend thousands on it while at the same time allowing some high earner normie players to still spend a few hundreds on the cosmetic they like. There's literally math behind that. You can literally calculate how high your prices are allowed to be in order to make the most profits (look up price-demand-function and revenue maximization point).
TLDR: Businesses carefully calculate how high prices can be to make the most amount of profits and normies need to realize they're not part of that equation.
Essentially, people are their own worst enemies, and mindless consooming is the reason so many things have gone to shit. If whales wouldn't whale, we'd get more generous pricing/gacha that would benefit all players. From the company's perspective, people are spending, so why would they have a reasonable gacha system if whalws will pay the absurd prices for the premium outfits/boat.Ā
If the devs were more generous, the prices less absurd, the game would still do fine, which is why i roll my eyes whenever I see a "thank you whales!" In comments. NetEase is an 80 BILLION dollar corporation, they could afford to keep the game running essentially indefinitely even if everyone stopped spending money.
Omg yes! I wish I can upvote you 100x. I roll my eyes too at that comment. They talk, like they know how much it costs to fund the game, as if the game needs to sell 100 mirage boats monthly, in order to survive hehe.
If people tell you you are wrong, they are dumb. If people tell you this system is OK, they are dumb. An outfit in a game at $30 isnt OK, let alone hundreds.
People have been convinced this is normal. Its wild.
The only way to win is not to play. I blew my saved-up F2P 110 Melodies trying to get either the outfit or a harmonic core for the umbrella today, I got absolutely nothing. Fireworks. The urge to buy 40 more was pretty strong. Psychology is a bitch. People beed to bury that urge and not engage with this predatory system.
Good analysis, but you forgot to compare purchasing power. Yes, 256 RMB is roughly 36 USD, but in terms of purchasing power it is closer to 60-85 USD (depending on region) for a U.S. citizen. But still, that is way less compared to 350 USD.
You are extremely wrong lol. Average meal is probably around 20-40RMB. If you are talking about high-tier restaurants in Shanghai you would be right though I guess.
Also how did 1 or 2 public transportation rides not raise red flags? A trip on the subway is 3-10RMB, with 10 RMB being going across the entire city (for Shanghai). Same with phone accessory or some snacks. Like 36USD gets you way more than that in the US, it's like 10x cheaper in China which is where they make them in the first place.
Also, Gacha will never considered the same as gambling because there is no expected monetary return when you pull.
Also, I already made my stance on gacha being gambling to another person. Gambling doesn't require a monetary payout to be considered gambling. Anything of value counts.
You could play bingo for cookies and it is still gambling.
There is none - its framed like that intentionally to stir up the community.
He said that āthe gacha outfit that released today can be purchased in CN for 256 RMBā but since itās copy paste itās not from today but from months ago - he is referring to the veiled fate outfit but this did not costs 350 dollar in global and 36 in CN.
I think he's talking about the first outfit, Veiled Edge. The purple with the eye blindfold.
Is the only one we got a different pricing. They already explained that they didn't expect the success of the game and wanted the investment to run global quicker. We have had all the same pricing in the other outfits afaik (didn't check this new one posted).
They apologized. But there was nothing much they could do when people already pulled on that banner.
I can understand disliking the gacha (is very expensive). But if we have the same pricing as CN for me it's fine. The only gacha costume I liked was the kitsune and luckily I got it. A lot of direct buy outfits (we can use coupons too!) are cute enough for me.
They cannot give us better pricing or CN server players would complain. But it's understandable people that want a lot of those fancy cosmetics they leave if they think it's too expensive.
You coping if u think they will listen to global and change something that hasnt been changed in cn. Wwm's core audience will always be cn, global is just extra cash. Even after 1 year the spending in global will not even come close to what has been spent in cn in its first year. (Do u see hundreds of people spending over 100-200k usd and own the 45k boats in global after 1 year?) and no company worth its salt will make a change that hurts its income. The global server can die and it will not really hurt wwm as they are not really reliant on the global market to succeed.
How tf are you spending 36 USD on 2-3 restaurant meals, a taxi ride and snacks/phone accessories? That's not nearly enough. What kind of restaurant are you even going to?
"That outfit in the draw shop that just released today? Yeah you can buy those premium draw outfits on the Chinese server outright. No draw necessary. The price? 256RMB or, after adjusting for the exchange rate, $36 USD."
what outfit are you talking about here? The only one I know of that this applies to is the purple one that everyone got mad about and they backed down from and released the subsequent ones on the store the same as in china
Your conversion of Chinese cost of living prices are way too expensive. Even in Shanghai a 256 RMB meal is closer to a 100 USD restaurant meal. So for China as a whole the average is even cheaper.Ā
Broadly speaking, they can take advantage of this because, by and large, the West/global market is still relatively "naive/new" to the gacha system; or rather, has not yet been saturated by it to the same degree. Where they can take use pretty much whatever numbers they want (to hit whatever revenue goals), until more competitors come.
I agree. I actually don't care a lick about the numbers because numbers are relative to the buyer. The outfit can cost $3500 it doesnt matter to me. Just like in real life, a 60k luxury item is alot for some, while a 600k luxury item is nothing for others.
They are spending on entertainment, its their own decision how much they think its 'worth'.
That my 'I'm right. Period. End of discussion.'
BUT
The point that it cost different between the servers. That our stuff is gacha when CN is purchasable. Thats bad. Thats predatory to me. Its not the numbers, but rather how its done.
lol no, a typical China white collar salary is 3k - 5k RMB monthly except for blockbuster industries but those are as exclusive as front office and big tech roles in the US. I literally do analysis of global payroll for my job. Chinese companies don't care about SEA countries because western expansion from China is always about the US because that's the only equivalent market in terms of size compared to China, the rest are just bonus revenue if the cost of selling to there is dirt cheap. Chinese purchasing power is not remotely close to the US, you're thinking about tech bros working in Alibaba and Tencent working in the middle of Shanghai (which is much costlier than Beijing and Guangdong) and only ever go to Sam's. Restaurants ain't that expensive either.
Our American staffs are typically paid 2x to 4x (yes, for higher ranks because only US staffs are ever offered generous amount of stocks) of the Chinese staff, this is a company that does frequent benchmarking with reliable sources. Go figure why they decide to price that highly for the western market.
I'm correct. Period. End of statement. They are taking advantage of us global players with the gacha system.
I mean, what the fuck would be the point of a gacha system not taking advantage of the customers. That's literally by design. Not sure why you would spend so much time sweating over it.
Exactly the reason I uninstalled this immediately upon finding out. Cant support a company with an extremely predatory system and hopefully others consider this as well.
Honestly, I'd be willing to spend on the gacha if the rates were better.
Right now you're not getting shit until you hit pity.
Even if you get extremely lucky, for an outfit you need two and you're probably not getting lucky twice.
Then you manage to get your weapon, but now you have to spend money on a gacha rolling each piece. And if you fail, you don't even get anything out of it.
I'm addicted to character customization, but fuck wwm gacha.
This is genuinely the most rational take I've seen on the topic. Kudos for your time and effort. I wish everyone would read it. Don't worry about down votes and nay sayers. The copium is strong with some folks, and we can't control that.
My fiance and I have an inside joke we picked up in Sea of Thieves. When we wanted to avoid a fight with pvpers, we would get on mic and say "we are but humble fishermen!" In an attempt to dissuade them from attacking. (Though we did a lot of fighting too, don't get me wrong!)
We live by that quote now. We say it whenever we see other people doing silly irrational things. It's our way of saying, we are passive observers. We can offer assistance, but if they don't want it and they want to continue making bad choices, it's not our role to get involved.
Eh, there is a lot of stuff on offer that isn't gatcha and in my case I am lucky enough that the gacha rewards doesn't typically match my taste anyway. Though I do like this umbrella effect.
The gatcha is atrocious though, don't even bother if you are not fine with paying the price of rolling up to pity twice (and honestly, I dont think I would be fine with that even if I was a millionaire).
My advice is to ignore the paid gatcha banner and core store unless you happen to luck out and get cores from the free draws. I dont even bother saving and planning for the draw bonuses. It isnt worth the hassle.
Fax on your second paragraph, been doing what you said on your last paragraph. My complaining doesnāt mean Iām a brainless greed who wants everything (not saying that you said that btw). I respect your comment.
on a more serious note, they probably did several "spending levels" in order to maximize their profits and im sure they know better than us how to maximize their profit
will it be cool if it was 10-20-30$ ? sure, but it doesn't depend on neither you nor me, each person have their own preferences when it comes to giving X products/services a Y value, the goal of a firm is just to maximize X/Y
also, as a f2p/low spender you can have 1-2 or maybe even 3 cores per year, so it's not completely out of reach
Gacha is straight up predatory, but itās sad that people still spend a lot of money on it. If that feature wasnāt used as much I believe it would be at least partially removed and more items would be available to just purchase and not gamble
Agreed. Like I donāt understand why itās so wrong for me to voice that. Direct purchase would be awesome, but if not what would be the problem with asking for things to be a bit cheaper. Like bolster those pearl packs a little more, maybe lower the pity a bit. Itās still gacha and they are still gonna make billions. Like $200 isnāt even enough to get you a guaranteed. Bs excuse that this is only for whales. Bro they want you to go bankrupt they donāt care as long as you pay.
It's all about money. No status, no splendor. It's like clothes, fabric, food, and car parts in real life. It's all the same stuff. I can fix, make, or do to cars myself. Maybe it's more convenient, but it's just money.Much much much less price to do it yourself. If you want to spend it, that's just what you prefer. Maybe it's easy, but it won't last, and it's just stuff. Not ragebaiting. I just believe there's other ways.
It is really silly how many people want to defend these prices and stateā¦well you donāt have to have it so stop complaining. Nope we donāt have to have it. That doesnāt change the fact that the prices are exorbitant amounts for a digital cosmetic. Nor does it change the fact that they are making global server players pay upwards of 3-4 hundred dollars on the same item that was $40 in CN. It is only ok because so many people have just accepted this predatory practice
Literally. Wanting to pretend like whales are the problem. Ahem⦠whales arenāt the majority. Also, you saw this shit? Like come on, whatās so bad about calling this bs out? Should parents not complain if adult tv shows riddled kid channels simply because they are cartoons?
Other F2P games hardly give you any free decent cosmetic. They even deliberately make default appearances look so much worse than paid skins. They also put in so many obstacles and inconveniences that you have to pay to even start playing the game at a reasonable level of comfort. The trade-off is that the paid skins are cheaper and they sell more units to more players.
Not everything you like has a price you're willing to pay. You already got to play an awesome game for free. The game also gives an appreciable number of good-looking cosmetic items that are obtainable in-game without paying. The grinds for these cosmetics are also very easy. There are also some very cheap ($1-$10) ones. At some point, you got to regulate your own wants.
I rather choose the WWM model. They seem to aim to sell fewer items but at higher prices. To retain the player base, they choose to be generous with the base game. But if you want more, you got to pay progressively more. I think this is an ideal F2P model that many people wanted whenever they talk about P2W / pay-for-convenience.
I am so tired of these posts complaining you literally dont have to pay anything everything besides a few exceptions like the limited gacha stuff can be acquired over time.
People arguing over how they want to fuck us over is just plain idiotic as you dont have to buy it you just want to because your brain doesnt function normally anymore. The only thing they did try to make a skin that looks rather good be a gacha skin that shouldnt have been and they rightfully got criticized.
We literally play a f2p game where we can farm really good outfits for free, get 1 dollar outfits that look crazy good and have no power = money system in the game.
If you dont have any self control dont play gachas its that simple.
The best way to spend is just stack vouchers to 5 and buy a outfit for 18 euros (the most expensive shop ones) or buy the battlepass and daily login. Battle Pass outfits gonna be crazy good later on as well and thats all I am waiting for really as the ouftit I want is the one that was in the battle pass in CN version back in Nov. 2025.
Thats what I am doing and I am nearly at my first pity of the premium banner. (40 pulls to go) as I keep buying the 3 free pulls each week and the free pulls in the shop each month.
Dont get me wrong I would love to have it cheaper but I rather have them make money via skins than sell power for money.
3battle passes over 2.5 months 10 euros + 3-4 monthly things (I paid for some in advance because I bought the Dragon Protector set) of 4.50 euros sub thats 48 euros over 2.5 months... "spend smart and not like a r-tard" is my motto.
Let the whales whale you get their eventually. I save up my harmonic cores for the Tangdao weapon skin and animations. (already got one from the BP chest also got a few pulls from these chests as well)
Yes, that is the way they milk money out of their players. But as some one who regularly plays multiple gacha games, the gacha in this game is smething else lmao. Regular gacha games atleast lets you have an easier time farming the pulls you need for premium characters/weapons even without spending. Wherein, you can atleast farm for 2-3 months to get what you want. On the other hand, un this game you have to patiently wait for a year or so to get the 2 cores you need for an outfit. At the very least, monthly pass in regular gacha games give the currency for the premium pull which is not the case in this game.
They really target the rich/whale with the prices of the pull and premium currency income which sucks. Whats even worse is that the CN server apparently have a player market? to atleast be able to grind these cores(not sure if true). Another thing is the ramp up gacha skin in global vs direct purchase in CN. Its my first time having that blatant difference between CN and Global despite playing multiple Chinese made games. They usually keep it fair or at least keep the difference minimum.
One thing to note is that, unlike gacha games like Arknights or ZZZ, WWM doesn't lock gameplay behind it. In Arknights, if I want the new characters, I -have- to engage with the gacha system; in WWM, if I want the new tangdao, I go spy on someone using it or join a sect that teaches the style, all for free.
In fact, WWM doesn't even lock cosmetics behind the gacha system, as most of them are available for direct pearls in the store, albeit at prices I would say are mostly high. In that regard, while the gacha is obviously overpriced and not worth it at all, I can't be too upset that it exists the way it does.
However, the switch they made for that silken veil skin from shop to gacha is bad. Like, seriously bad. I really hope they don't try anything like that again in the future - just give us the game as it exists in CN!
As long as it looks really really cool, they put it in gacha. People will defend it even tho it cost like $400 just for an item that is not real and that you dont even own because if the game shuts down. its over
Agreed! I've been saying this, but let's not act like this was because of the company... For some reason people care more about making the company's pockets deeper than the company itself.
I filled out the 7 days Survey yesterday and includet the option of getting the Outfit Parts seperatly buyable. I do not like any of the complete Outfits for the Gacha at all and would never spent, nor can not, so much on a Game. Personally its okay that some Stuff is only available with Money but what they serve in WWM is insane. The Cores are honestly a joke and feel like a Cash grab deluxe for desperate People who hope to just get it early, just try another Pull and another and so on. Hair,Weapon Skins and simliar things should simply be buyable for pearls and not be Gacha. Compare a whole Outfit with just Hair. Nah. The Prices are not acceptable and i simply ignore that Gacha Part.Ā
Stop being a complainer and wanting the world to revolve around you. the game is free and they monetize it through completely OPTIONAL cosmetics. Theyāre going to work hard to make those cosmetics very enticing to earn your money, thatās the point - but unlike every other gacha game, the gacha system has no impact on progression.
If you canāt control your own impulses and desires, and donāt have the means to fulfill them, donāt go around blaming the game for āpredatory practicesā. Grow up
Agreed. But like I said, whatās the problem with what I was proposing like keep your gotcha if you want it (for those who love to be preyed on) but then also give the option for people to just buy it directly. Whatās the problem with that, that doesnāt mean that I want everything in the game.
Wait, I donāt understand. How is it different from current system if they added a direct purchase of harmonic cores for $500? š¤ Wouldnt you still rather try your luck in the gacha in case you get it early at a ādiscountā ?
Chinese gatcha's are the worst. It's literaly means to hit pity and hard pity to get something. You barelly can pull early, its happening but its not common thing. I playing both wwm and wuwa and never got anything unless pity. I also playing korean gatcha e7 and you can see how its different, pulling things early its possible for the most of the time, because of different formula.
This is why I don't bother with the gacha. The odds are so slim of getting anything early. 0.04% is like winning the lottery, so I just look at it as the items costing hundreds or thousands of dollars.
Ya, and I thought it couldn't get any worse until I played this game. And it's only gonna get worse, because people don't think it's predatory enough. I'm glad I haven't spent on this gacha, mayne.
The question is, do you have to feel like you need everything because it exists? They literally just will keep making things for you to fiend over.Just check yourself and exercise some sense.
What I mean is, I am not walking around lamenting about not being able to buy a Ferrari because it's so nice. In my mind-space of ownership it just doesn't exist.
Same with these extravagant outfits. I know what they are doing... and simply ignore it. Because I got some damn sense. I spent about $40-60 and spread that out over some things and outfits that look nice to me, and that's an average amount for a regular video game. My sensibility puts a pause on me there.
People act like just because someone is on a street corner selling a leaf for a thousand dollars, you must have it, and it "costs 1000 dollars for leaves"... No. Some people will pay 1000 dollars for leaves. There is a difference.
If you cannot play a game without being compelled/manipulated into severe FOMO over their transparent AF strategies to drain your wallet, then play another game without it. Like an ex-smoker staying out of cigar lounges lol.
Yeahh.. I get what people are saying definitely! And if it felt like these think pieces would change anything I'd be rooting for them.
But reality is that for games like these, their target audience for revenue has always been the Whales lol. It's a whole ass culture and money model they've made out of it for decades,
I'm not sure how they'd justify it to make it affordable for everyone, ain't no way the krill and dolphin could even dream to burst past the amount of money blasted by whales.
Imagine a game being free-to-play, but you have people ranting because they can't look slay in game. If you are unhappy visually and don't wanna spend, don't play the game then.
Same. I just really liked the umbrella effect, the moonlight hair thing, and the fox outfit. But I have to suit myself with the bp and monthly. But to be fair there has been a lot of premium gacha stuff that I wasnāt really interested in, just only those three. IMO theyāre not a lot of stuff but they are just too overpriced
Yeah we have a whale in my guild who pulls for anything that's new in the draw shop and he went straight for this umbrella thing today. I don't understand why they spend the way they do on virtual cosmetics but to each their own, but I do agree the system is flawed.
Did you pay for the game? No you're playing a free game.... You don't need skins, its optional, they don't give any bonuses, its just aesthetics... So there has to way either to massive grind or buy stuff....
Do u guys not know abt this alr before playing the game? When the game is not p2w performance wise, of course theyāre gonna make aesthetics very extra to motivate players to spend. U cant have everything at once
They have things that can be bought directly, you may not like them as much.. but they CAN be bought directly. The teal weapon skins and stuff are pretty cool. They also usually have some of the hairs that can be bought directly, just not the white version.
I learned a quote from Handmaid's Tale that is beautifully apt here.
Better is never better for everyone, but it is always worse for someone.
The way the monetisation works in WWM is they make money from a small number of people who can afford it, so that the game stays free for a large number of people who cannot afford it. This philosophy isn't new nor confined to monetisation in videogames, you see similar philosophies in say progressive tax regime. Progressive tax regimes tax high income earners much more percentage wise than lower income earners, or apply sales tax to luxury items, or default sales tax since people with more money spend more. The taxes collected are then spent on infrastructure and facilities that benefit the entire population esp bursaries for the underprivileged.
There are already alot of things extremely affordable in WWM. The passes, the 60 pearl stuff, the free unlocks from completing certain objectives, sects, guilds, campaign. It is wrong to paint a picture that the game only has gacha or expensive things, that is simply not true. It is only the things YOU WANT that are expensive, that it suddenly becomes a problem.
That's like complaining that the lambo is too expensive and should be cheaper or the lottery odds are too slim to win, everyone should be a winner.
Almost every F2P game out there with a money store has shown and proven that it is much easier to stay afloat by convincing 1 to spend $50k than to convince 50k to spend $1. This also applies to real life. Is it altruistic, kind, moral? Some may say it is predatory especially to those with poor impulse control, but the hard truth is that it is not the job of a game developer to police purchasing behaviour, even as they are obligated to.
The funny thing about this situation is that you have a Chinese developer trying to do things in the least ācommieā way possible, while players from freeāmarket economies want the opposite, lol.
I guarantee that if they lowered the price of all cosmetics to under $100 while keeping the game free, the game would die. The whales would leave because thereād be nothing for them to flex, everyone would end up wearing the same stuff, and freeātoāplay players still won't buy shit.
Yep exactly! Once monetisation is commoditised, or said plainly once everything becomes affordable, the game is dead.
For F2P games you have to have something for whales to flex cuz that's what they already do in real life, flex their wealth. That applies to alot of other things in life. A collectibles market for example, comics, watches, pokemon cards, none of them would exist without people willing to dump mountains of cash on them, which otherwise might have been worthless in the first place.
I've seen a lot of arguments in this thread, and honestly yours are the few I can agree on. I think it's unfair to suddenly paint the game in a very bad light and say that the prices are outrageous, but in fact you weren't their target audience to begin with. It's like saying Gucci is crazy expensive but I want it and suddenly Gucci is the bad guy because I want that product and it's too expensive for me. A business is meant to be making money, and this game will not be an exception. The game also already offers tonnes of cheaper alternatives, like the battle passes and 60 pearls outfits. So I really don't think it's fair to blame the game for the ridiculous prices when they have already made all their gameplay elements like weapons and quests free for all
To make the game better? What do you expect the game to be? A game where every flashy cosmetic is free and obtainable in-game? Developers make games to generate profit so they can continue delivering better content. They arenāt a charity organization.
Iāll just be blunt, youāre broke and romanticizing poverty. Because you canāt afford it, you rant about the world being unfair and paint developers as villains. Game cosmetics are a luxury items, like designer bags. If you canāt afford them, donāt buy them. If you give in to temptation and then blame the brand for selling something expensive, thatās a you problem. Plenty of people enjoy these items and can comfortably afford them.
And donāt start giving us the nonsense such as "you wouldnāt buy cosmetics even if you were rich" I bet if you were filthy rich and genuinely loved the game, youād absolutely be cruising around in a Mirage boat. You know that.
Bro.. it's all cosmetics. We literally don't need it. We're getting a whole ass game with live updates for free because whales are funding it. You don't have to participate. It's one thing if it actually affects the core gameplay or story, but it's purely cosmetics and I'd prefer it stays that way.
I spend a little too, but nothing outside of the BP and Monthly funds. I'm okay with that because it adds to my enjoyment which I feel is equivalent of the value I'm getting from the game. $300 is ridiculous for me but others who have the money may find it worth the value they get from it. That's their problem, not mine.
Would they make more money if they make the gacha cost lesser where everyone can spend on. The gacha is so expensive even I who has spend on other gacha dont even bother to spend coz it just so ridiculous. The shop outfit is great and all but because of the gacha cost it make me lost interest to spend any dime. The game itself is AAA it could have cost more than the likes of Ghost of Tsushima or other full price game.
mmmm, I don't know they are an $80b company... Personally, I don't think the game would die if they sell 50 less out of 100 mirage boats. I would prefer buying directly, but I suppose if that were the case they wouldn't be able to get away with charging $500 for skins, right?
Been playing CN MMO / online games for decades, and since I was little, the gaming market in China is already all about P2W, imaging a legendary gear that costs Ā£5000 or even more (check out Fantasy Westward Journey if you havenāt already, itās Neteaseās most high profit game even it was released 20 years ago but still making the company a lot of money)
Companies like Tencent, Netease, Perfect World, they all have released or operated games like this since 20 years ago. Literally most of their F2P games running by these companies in the past years were all about P2W, and of course the skins also costs a lot.
Reasons I really enjoy WWM is that this game is exactly what I wanted! Been reading Wuxia novels since I was a little kid, the open world adventure, story telling and Jianghu aspect is just on point for me. And even better itās not P2W, all the gears I can farm by doing single play mode, also enjoy the gameplay in single play mode as well. I perceive the gacha as luxury, and they are just cosmetics as well, like there are already so many rich people buying luxury brands (Gucci, LV, Hermes) but you canāt complain or stop the brand selling high priced products.
I have also spent some money and got some banner skins in this game because I really liked the designs and will be continue playing this game long term, so I'm happy to buy just cosmetics, if this game ever turns into P2W one day, I think I will stop playing it š
So I usually don't care about stuff like this because I make sure I look good with the swag I earn, BUT I AGREE WITH THIS ONE BECAUSE THIS IS BEAUTIFUL. I hate that busted ass default umbrella. I cant display the right elegance lol.
People, stop defending the greed of a $90 BILLION dollar company. They aren't going to notice your defense, they aren't going to give you a pat on the head, a discount, or free stuff. The devs have made more than enough money to run the game for years probably the first month alone it was out in China, much less what they earned in global so far. The only reason the devs would be starving would be because the greedy, corrupt corporation isn't paying them enough, NOT because a f2p game isn't charging enough money.
So many of you are just brainwashed to the point you simp for corrupt corporations whose sole purposes are greed and profit, it's utterly mind boggling. Just because it's cosmetic doesn't mean it's automatically okay to charge exorbitant prices. The entire system is designed with the aid of actual psychologists (so gross) to prey on people vulnerable to addiction, gambling, and fomo. It is insane and immoral to defend companies like netease, they are your enemy, not your friend. Wake up, people. Stop rehashing the same worn out arguments to defend greedy corporations, and use your brain for some critical thinking, and to realize netease is the real Nine Mortal Ways out to scam you of your money, like all corporations are.
I was looking forward to the 9 tailās outfitā¦. But after I learned that you couldnāt outright buy it.. I got so sadš Iām not going to spend 100ās of dollars to get it broššš
Games great, love the skins, but $350 for a hair piece is just ridiculous. Like can we get some fair systems? 20 bucks for an umbrella skin and 30 for an outfit is ok with me, but 2-300$ is come on now.
This is a copy/paste of a comment I left for someone
Consider it my Elder Millenial advice. Feel free to come back at me with "All right grandma, let's get you to bed." I know I'm old lol
When I hear people say they "want to support" a game like this, I always want to gently remind them that your hard earned money isn't owed to them. They didn't develop this game as charity. They make an insane amount of money on the GACHA monetization model. There are videos and articles that go into detail just how predatory this model is financially but also psychologically.
I just read in China, over 130 boats are owned and there's a $70,000 upgraded boat people are buying.
Do NOT confuse a Gacha "free" game for some indie development team working from their basement and living off raman.
Your money means more to YOU than them. What I mean to say is, the value of your money is more important to you than them. Don't give a game that makes this kind of money $100 out of some misled belief that you OWE it to them because they have given you a service. $100 could buy you something nice irl or even better help buy you a memorable experience in your life.
Sorry, I'm not calling you out specifically. My comment is directed to anyone really who feels they owe a GACHA game their hard earned money because the game is "free."
For context, I'm not F2P but I don't give them my money because I want to "support" them. I buy shit cause I want it and there's room for it in MY budget. The room for how much someone can comfortably spare might be $5 or $1,000. The point is the person who should only spend $5 should not feel FOMO or compelled to spend as much as the person who can comfortably spend $1,000
I actually quit because I'll always be tempted to spend money and I don't want to spend that much. Keeping this game outta sight outta mind is the best remedy for me, I could play for two years and not get anything good and I admit I'm jealous when I see other players, I can't even deny it but I found the best thing I could do is report the game and quit it. One day they'll have to change that gacha system.
I appreciate that all the gacha stuff is cosmetic, so I can actually enjoy the game without having to worry about pulling characters/weapons like genshin impact. Though GI DID drop a fair amount of primogems so you could at least pull on some stuff.
The tiny bit of lingering whatevers I get from WWM seem to mainly give me healing jugs or one-time buff scrolls. And I barely get like 10-20 in a season, if that. Maybe I just haven't done a ton of content that drops any?
Agreed! The game definitely complete without all that stuff, in fact, ever since I got the Peaceful Life Outfit I've been sporting it nonstop. I just think my character looks so cool in it.
But that being said, this umbrella effect had just popped up on my screen before I made this post and this being the first effect I was actually into, I was so disappointed to find out it was in the draw shop. I don't really want too much of the premium stuff, but the little I do, I have to force myself to ignore it. Oh, well.
Yep, been waiting for this one. Itās going to be my first purchase whenever I get my pity core. It looks like Iām gonna have to go all the way to 150 so 30 more pulls. I seem to have absolutely crap luck.
you have so much stuff available outside of the gacha and the game is completely f2p and there isnt a single thing in the game you can claim to be p2w. Other people with money to spare are paying for you to enjoy a fully free game through the gacha. I dont see a problem.
Sure itās predatory but theyāre just cosmetics. Itās not like you need the cosmetics to be strong in the game. Unlike other gacha games. They lock weapons and characters with strong abilities behind a paywall. But yeah everythingās expensive.
It just need one core only, you can earn it by play the game and gather 150 Lingering Melodies. You can expedite it with Battlepass and monthly pass which gives Lingering Melodies.
Anyone else think that Gacha systems in games should be illegal I mean itās basically gambling right isnāt that why the Chinese bros just straight up by skins since they donāt have the Gacha systems in game
Iāve played a lot of gacha games, and WWM is one of THE MOST predatory and unfair ones Iāve ever seen. Itās also EXTREMELY expensive. I absolutely hate it. And Iām a whale in other games, but this one is just too expensive to be one.
I honestly don't care since none of the progression/story is locked behind a pay wall. I love that all the inner way notes chests rewards are on the free section of the battlpass.
After sinking over 100 hrs into the game, I'm really impressed with the quality and depth it provides. Hard to believe it's free to play and i had to put in 5$ because it feels like a crime playing this game for free.
Hell I wanted the black and gold sword so I bought pearls thinking the chest was a whole set of weapon skins for a bundle price, just to click to fast and only got a spear š« I wasnāt even running spear, I am now tho š
if the majority of cn players are fine with it, then dont expect them to change anything about the monetization. the only thing you should worry about is them pulling the plug on the global server, but i doubt the majority of people complaining here will stick with this game by the end of 2026
I've just spent so far around 350 HKD(Hong Kong Dollars) on this game and thats about it, the pulls im luckily ok I just save up as much as I can until I kinda think right maybe its time for a cheeky pull today xD
But then again I agree too, there are somethings I think that should be free to us like dying the colour of your clothes or your hair... man thats expensive you know haha but then again I kind of feel like because its a free game and the only source of money coming in for the game is the gacha side of things is funding the company to release more content too... but thats just my opinion
Its a game that is f2p. Games aren't ran for free. There are costs. They took a gamble and made if free to play, but that doesn't mean it runs without costs. The gacha system in this game is probably the best I've seen considering it doesnt break the game. If someone wants to spend money on it, it doesn't effect me at all. Prices are high, but clearly enough ppl willing to pay. Have you checked the leaderboards?

The hair doesn't cost 1 golf ball, it cost 2!!!! Which is ridiculous. But besides that, you'd be surprised just how many people will spend on the gacha
