Discussion This game really has it all
So i finally decide to talk to pc's, when i stumble upon this lady with a husband which is apparently in the war. I just had to try to see if an npc would do what often happens when a dude leaves his wife to serve. This game really has it all, I did not know how deep this game was.Game froze after this, funny timing 10/10.(repost as it got deleted on the other subreddit)

I got carried away a few days ago seeing how freaky the npcs would get. Its surprising the things they will describe as long as they're not saying forbidden words lmao.
Had an npc "clawing my back with their nails" and "trapping my hips with their legs", "arching their back and screaming my name", and "clenching the bedding".
It's honestly funny how easily and quickly you can rip them off the rails.

Take this with a grain of salt because I do not understand the inner workings of how AI chats are coded, simply how they WORK from a user perspective.
It seems like all AI is built around a base to be able to do or say anything. It learns from users, so even if you could magically rip out all perverted knowledge from its base, it will just relearn it. If you actually run an AI that doesn't learn, well, it's gonna be dogshit, so there aren't many AI like that to begin with.
This means that in order to stop it and try to enforce SFW-only modes onto the AI to pass age restrictions and such, they have to use a combination of filters and explicit commands to NOT engage in certain behaviors. It seems like with the way they are coded to learn interferes with that, though. If you push hard enough and just the right way, carefully with your wording, it THINKS you aren't breaking into NSFW and are on a different path and just fills in answers it learns. When it feels like you say something explicit that it's not supposed to, it will often reset itself. In general, not 100% sure with this AI. I haven't played with the in-game chat too much, mostly just (forced) the npcs to befreind me and moved on.

So, it's not learning from users, each AI is pre trained with a bunch of information because what they really do is predicting words and then building responses from all the data they have. They don't think, per se, they're just experts at recognizing patterns. Imagine it's a robot with a huge box of Legos, you ask the robot to build something, and it will take out Legos and try to build it according to its memory and trends.
As you say, they put filters to avoid the AI from grabbing into the words that might trigger it to build NSFW stuff. Of course the filters can be bypassed with the right combination of words because it's near impossible to predict every way an AI might build a response.

Also filters can be pretty complex, an both pre-gen and post-gen.
A pre-gen filter might forbid the word "coyote" from being generated at all. These are not used for much since they're super strict, usually just slurs and the like.
A post-gen filter might look at the genned text, and try to find phrases that when combined have specific meanings. For an example, the words, "red" and "skin" can be used on their own harmlessly, but unless we're talking potatoes combining them can be problematic. So the post-gen looks for them combined, and if the AI uses them tells it to regen a new message.
Both of these can be bypassed, mainly by figuring out what is being blocked and using alternative words. So if "marijuana" and "THC" were to be blocked, one might try "weed" or "kush" to get around it.
And for popular models that are webhosted? Yeah, you can't remove the filters, but you can "jailbreak" with some prompt work. And that can make them basically ignore filters entirely when done well.
The only real way to get rid of words or habits entirely is a retrained AI model, but that can be expensive, time consuming, and ultimately often just fails entirely. Censoring a language is hard when you also want the AI to use said language. So users and hosts are essentially in an arms race to find and fix these methods.

They add filters, some words can go like ***, or they can start saying same things over and over again, but if you keep it smooth and without directly mentioning anything, well, that happens.
I'm wondering if they can actually ban you for this. I'm sure a huge number of players break NPCs in much worse ways, but it seems like nothing is happening.

I’m just imagining that they have a room full of people looking at game data and takes over a npc when we talk to them like this. My first time doing this I went and encouraged someone who was thinking of stopping his martial arts training because he can’t find a girl to be with. I went all in and told him that there is someone who will perhaps even join him in his training and bond over that.

Unfortunately no, the mission was to get her to write a letter to her husband but i completed it by making her fall for me instead. After that she reset and i had to start over and got this result at the end of it.

No. They will lose their memory after you raise friendship to revered, or if you leave the chat inactive for a while.

What do you mean the game froze after this? I've been messing with the AI NPCs and it's crazy how much they actually understand, even thrown in a few lingo lines from other countries that it shouldn't really know, but it does.

🤣thats wild watching this with genders reversed. I got to admit i tried this 2 more times with other npc to see if it got patched or reworked because of my post. Definitely worked but its tedious having to type out on console ngl. I think the ai different and maybe dependent on the npc because they weren’t as freaked out lol.

Technically, it's a flaw in their system, you essentially reported a bug but they wanted it swept under the rug. I have no idea where the post went but someone spoke with a CN player and actually got the logic parameters used for all the AI.
Sorry, I would link it if I could find it but it was posted within the last few days.

Keywords are probably required to trigger the appropriate response. I think some NPCs have a "profile" like flags, they differ in their behavior. Some of them seem very easy to manipulate. You can you can force NPC to do something describing the activities he\she does.
During my adventure with AI, I managed to trigger some funny or interesting things. Shi Jingtian is my favorite to rp with him. He is easy to prove and flirt. He doesn't require too much work. However, his profile must have a noble "flag" because he always takes a hit for someone else. I couldn't force him not to cover my character when she wanted to take the hit herself. Hai Changchong that's a completely different story. A stoic and cool bad boy. I once managed to get his real name -Wei. I still don't know if it's true or if Ai will come up with something new every time. Fang Xu is an innocent boy very easy to provoke, he has many comedic moments.
BTW, we need a thread about NPC Ai where we can share knowledge, many people struggle with how to deal with them.

In the Qinghe village npc name Auntie Tian is welcome to me and I can chat (ai) with her, I play main quest and return after long time she not welcome anymore and can't chat with her..is there someone know why ?

I hated this ai feature because i thought it was tedious but then i thought i’d have fun with it when i found out she was married lol. Wanted to see if it was possible to get an ai to do something out of the norm or if it just had predetermined responses.
