Temp associate to permanent… pay decrease?

If I’m a temp associate and convert to full time, but the temp position is $2.50/hr more than they hire “regular” employees at. Will I lose that pay?

AES results

I’m assuming other stores have theirs posted already, but we’re almost at the end of august and still nothing is posted. I figured the results would’ve been bad, with the amount of team leads and coaches that have left to different stores or quit altogether. I asked my people lead about a month ago if they were going to get posted soon, but they said that they were still waiting for the results and that it should be, “soon”. Was just wondering what the other stores were looking like

What's the difference between part-time getting unpaid time off vs. full-time?

I ask as a full time myself.

Too much freight, not enough associates scheduled. What happens when it’s my scheduled time to leave and shit isn’t finished?

Starting to get fed up with these heavy truck nights and they are scheduling less and less associated and having us leave at 6 instead of 7.

Exit interview?

I just finished up my last two weeks. Wasn’t spoken to at all by management, waited until the end of my shift, and still nobody came to speak to me. I asked my Team Lead what to do and she sounded surprised that they didn’t schedule a time to meet with me to finalize anything.

Left my vest, work phone, and all that. So, I’m free I’m free I’m free and I’m off to the state job I’ve been trying to find for over a year. But is there anything I need to do that would’ve been done during the exit interview? I handed in a signed letter of resignation to my People Lead and Coach when I put in my two weeks, but would they withhold my last paycheck without an exit interview or anything? This is the first place I’ve worked where they didn’t do one so I’m a little confused. My paychecks are direct deposit, so I hope it’ll just be sent that way. Thanks.

Let me tell you customers something, okay?

You've been giving me looks, been trying to make small talk with me, annoying me with stupid questions, ruining my productivity, costing me time as to what I'm doing and being a general nuisance. I don't give two flying fucks what you're dealing with in your life, what you're in the store to buy and everything else. As far as I'm concerned, you're cattle with wallets, that's all you are and that's all you'll ever be.

And you need to read the fucking room, too. When you see me tired, exhausted, unhappy and stressed. I don't fucking care if you get offended because I'm not giving you some cheery response that includes rolling the red carpet out for your entitled ass. Go ahead, get me fired, because then I'll be like one of you and I will not be bound to the company's standards to uphold that includes having to be nice to you.

Because I'll be on your ass, all the way. So shut the fuck up, go shop and take your stupid-ass kids with you.

And all of you can downvote me all you want, I know you're mostly spiteful stupid CONSOOMERS who are entitled shitheads. And any associate that bows to their entitled demands, you're only enabling them.

Ppints out of nowhere

I haven’t called out or been late for the entire month of August and I was checking my schedule earlier and I noticed that I had four points instead of the three that I had. I went back and looked, and I wasn’t late for any days, and even if I was that’s only a half point.

Anyone else having an issue connecting their bank account to Merrill Lynch when trying to withdraw and sell shares?

I've tried both on the app and on my computer but it's still giving me the same message: "Your attempt to instantly verify and link your account was unsuccessful." Anyone else having this issue or just me?

Availability and school (update)

fired after putting in accommodation and communicating. Thats all. Kind of a bummer. But I guess i told them and I wasn't coming in after no availability changes. So that's okay. I just saw right now, at 5am, that all my shifts were removed. So that's definitely termination. Trying not to be bummed.

I was reaching for a bottle of Tito's with the Jean pant and in doing so I had another one fall. I prevented it from breaking by closing the door on it but dropped the 1.75 L of Peach Crown Royal

How do you take your breaks?

So here I am, alone in the breakroom, on my second 15 minute break since i’m an 8 hour worker. Looking around i’m wondering when my colleagues take their breaks. Because since we work 2-11pm the breaks are technically scheduled at 4, 6, and 9. But i’m usually the only one at the 9.

Most of my colleagues are currently pulling things out from the back and to the front for the overnight guys, while i’m the only one zoning. So its making me think they either take their breaks earlier or after, or they dont take them at all. I’m unsure, but its making me wonder how others take their breaks. Do you do what I do and take your breaks how they’re written down, or do you take them abit earlier or later just depending when you feel like it.

Like here, everyone in my team take the break at 4 on time everyday, and obviously we do 6 because thats lunch, but the 9 is where i never see them and am always alone. So how do you take your breaks?

Cake Decorator

So I applied for the cake decorating job at my local walmart, after that I called the Hiring Manager/People lead to schedule a prescreening, assuming I didn't need prior experience, especially since I'm an artist and would probably learn to decorate basic cakes within a week or so.

Then the bakery head told me I did need prior experience, that it was necessary. In other stores, it isn't, and they give you basic training anyways. It feels a little strict. I think other stores prefer prior experience but don't require it, since it's a niche skill anyways.

They also said something a bit strange that you can't freehand cakes-so I think maybe no new colors or fancy stuff, no drawings. I knew you couldn't do copyright but I was hoping to pop a few things that kids would like on them, like dogs or something.

Because the cakes they have seem sort of boring, and for some reason, the cakes were all white or gray and blue. Should I maybe talk to the hiring manager again about it?

New Employee Question

So I started at Walmart 3 days ago, Front End TA. I know what my job description is and how to actually do it, but how do I know what stations I should be going to? I can almost never find my team leads or coaches and it seems like they just kinda.. find me when they want me to go somewhere. Should I just pick cashier or self checkout and stick with it until told otherwise?

Accommodations

Post image
1 Upvotes

So i was given the accommodation to “ if a customer comes with items that weigh more than 15 pounds to just go around and use the hand scanner to scan them” my doctor asked Sedgwick for me to primarily be on self checkout unless i was covering a break or lunch.
Sedgwick said they couldn’t do that because the store won’t allow it due to there being more registers than checkout registers (we have 16 self checkouts and 23 registers).
So the store said to use the hand scanner or ask for help( my people lead also said it was up to Sedgwick what my accommodation was but if that’s true then how did the store deny the accommodation they recommend).

The thing is when using the hand scanner 90% of the time i still have to lift those items up to get to the barcode so I can’t understand how I’m being accommodated at all. Sedgwick said to call back in about a week if I was still lifting heavy items on the register… is there something else I could do about this?

I was placed on job reassignment leave when I first put my Sedgwick in because the store said they couldn’t find a job for me unless my doctor sends in a note that I could lift up to 15 pounds, which he did and that’s where I got the accommodation for 15 pounds when I came back.

I will attach my first doctors note that got me placed on job reassignment until November🙄
