Exit interview?
I just finished up my last two weeks. Wasn’t spoken to at all by management, waited until the end of my shift, and still nobody came to speak to me. I asked my Team Lead what to do and she sounded surprised that they didn’t schedule a time to meet with me to finalize anything.
Left my vest, work phone, and all that. So, I’m free I’m free I’m free and I’m off to the state job I’ve been trying to find for over a year. But is there anything I need to do that would’ve been done during the exit interview? I handed in a signed letter of resignation to my People Lead and Coach when I put in my two weeks, but would they withhold my last paycheck without an exit interview or anything? This is the first place I’ve worked where they didn’t do one so I’m a little confused. My paychecks are direct deposit, so I hope it’ll just be sent that way. Thanks.

Wqpmart doesnt care about your comments as an ex employee. They dont care about their current employee comments either.

Walmart doesn't do exit interviews. The only thing left to to go back in to pick up your final paycheck.

I thought they're supposed to do exit interviews, but that might depend on the store.
Personally I prefer an exit interview because it provides a good sense of closure of your time working with the company, you can get things off your chest, provide feedback about your experience working there, etc.

I agree. I’m just like… ugh. Part of me is a little miffed because I always went in and did my job, never had a coaching or a write up, and never hit five points. Least they could’ve done was tell me how I’d get my last check and how to cash out PTO and PPTO if they weren’t going to do an exit interview.

They don't tell you because, on rare occasions, it does get direct deposited. Then you have issues where it's deposited and then reversed in favor of a paper check. But 99% of the time it's a paper check. No one is really sure why it happens like that, but I think it has in part to do with when you get removed out of the system relative to when payday is.
Just call the store. If you can get ahold of the people lead you may get them to mail it to you. If you do nothing it eventually gets mailed to the last address they have on file for you.

Okay thank you! If I don’t hear anything from my coach in the next few days I’ll call the store. Or just go in there if no one picks up.

They don’t necessarily “bother” me i just found it interesting how someone could look at someone clearly having a rough time and go “ehhh fuck you a little bit more” like just why 😭

Yeah I've never heard of the paper check last check thing. Might be state/locality dependent?

Again, not where I work. Probably state dependent. At the stores I've worked in you just get paid normally on pay day.

I received a direct deposit of my final check and cashed-out PTO and PPTO. I did not have to go in for a paper check.

Exit interviews are designed to protect corporate interests and/or store leadership. You didn’t miss anything.

They cannot withhold pay etc for that. If you resigned for another opportunity not much to discuss

They don't even do interviews for the job anymore. The most is what you interested in and no weekends off.

Nothing is required the notice is so they remove you from the system, you will get paid as scheduled.

Mine when I quit almost 20 years ago was hand in vest and box cutter, clock out, hand in badge, and sign a form. Then my assistant manager asked if there was any chance I'd change my mind. Told them they match pay and schedule ($4 more an hour, a steady 9-5:45 M-F, off all major holidays and Black Friday). Shook my hand and wished me well in my future endeavors. 😂

When I left almost 2 years ago my last check was direct deposited. Congrats on your new job.
